Below is a few verses from 1 Timothy 1:8-11. This is my basis for not supporting a law to allow gays to legally "marry". This world is getting so far from God. We need to get closer to Him as a nation before He destroys us. Does anyone remember when God destroyed the city Sodom for its sexual perversions?? Note the name of the city - yes it was the origin of "Sodomy"

1 Timothy 1:8-11 "We know that the Law is good, if it is used in the right way. We also understand that it wasn't given to control people who please God, but to control lawbreakers, criminals, godless people, and sinners. It is for wicked and evil people, and for murderers, who would even kill their own parents. The Law was written for people who are sexual perverts or who live as homosexuals or are kidnappers or liars or won't tell the truth in court. It is for anything else that opposes the correct teaching of the good news that the glorious and wonderful God has given me. "

I know there will be many thoughts on this.......

I had this interesting blog in my head and as I sit down to write it - nothing seems to come out what I had planned. I hate that.

Anyway, I went to my church's Bible study for women. The class is in the middle of an 8 week study on Luke 22 - mostly about Jesus and the hours before His crucifixition. Last night was mainly focused on Him in the Olive Grove - Gethsemane. The teacher was talking about how we need our own Gethsemane - we need to give our lives to Christ, leave our old selves and sins at the cross, "die" with Christ & be reborn.

One thing that really struck me was - one lady mentioned the hardest thing for most of us to do is forgive once we become "born again". We know that God has forgiven us - yet we seem to not be able to forgive those who have wronged us or most importantly, FORGIVE OURSELVES for our past sins. If we choose to not forgive ourselves, we are only harboring resentment towards ourselves, possibly even anger, which can make the sinful nature return easier. Not that we need to forget where we came from - everyone needs to remember the past to stay humble - but forgive and move on. You will be happier.

It's hard for me to do that even still. I have a lot of things that are still inside me from my childhood. I know a lot of it affects who I am today and why I've chosen to be the kind of parent I hope I am becoming. I want to be a giving parent, who allows their child to be a CHILD, who isn't around negative things or behavior. Don't get me wrong - I was and am DEEPLY loved by my parents. I have one of the greatest mothers in the world and I know she has shaped the type of mother I want to be. Most who know me - knows the issues I'm speaking of.

I also learned in the class that there are some people (mostly lost or secular people) who will continue to throw up your past to make you seem like less of a Christian. It can be behind your back or to your face. Those people only do that to make themselves feel better. I know that we ALL have spots like the lepers - some people's spots are few but LARGE, some have tons of small spots, and others have lots of large spots. But we must remember that we all HAVE spots - regardless of the size or quantity - and we must remember that NO sin is lesser or greater than the other. To God - Sin is sin.

Satan also knows all our sins. And he also knows our weaknesses. He knows where most of our sins are and he will pick at us constantly to try to get us to crack. Some don't understand why Chris & I choose to watch more wholesome TV shows, movies and even listen to Christian music over secular music. The more secular things we expose ourselves to, the more we are exposed to the world and not of the Word. I hope that makes sense.

Satan is really having a great time in the US mostly these days. He found out in the 70's that Americans are easily corrupted by sexual immorality and homosexuality - look at the world now! We have gay people asking "why do you find this wrong?" yet they've never picked up a bible. God is just BEGGING this world to turn back to him - yet daily we get further and further from Him. Children and teens are being told AT SCHOOL that it's ok to be gay and that sex is a "normal" thing. It's such a sad situation.

I am not a perfect Christian by any means nor a perfect anything. And if it wasn't for Christ, I'd be hell bound with the rest of this world - past, present & future.

I have a question that has been on my mind since the recent charges being filed on the mom for letting Travis Mullis leave with the baby as "child endangerment". While i totally 110% agree with the charges and hope she gets jail time, it brings another question to mind.

If she can be charged with this, why wasnt Andrea Yates's husband ever charged with child endangerment??? I never understood how he could let those precious babies be home with his wife unsupervised knowing she was severely mentally ill. WAY more than Mullis.

Comments? Insight?

A conservative legal group has filed a lawsuit against a California high school after it denied recognition to a student pro-life club.

On Monday, the Alliance Defense Fund filed a complaint on behalf of a student who maintains that officials at Westmont High School are blocking her efforts to establish and promote a pro-life club. The suit alleges that the high school and the Campbell Union High School District are discriminating against the student by refusing to grant the club the same access to privileges the other student groups on campus receive. Lawyers representing the student by the initials of P.A. want the school to overturn its policy.

“Public schools should recognize the constitutional rights of pro-life students just as they do for all other students,” said ADF lawyer David Cortman.

“The high school is clearly engaging in viewpoint discrimination when it denies this pro-life group the right to the same privileges extended to other student groups. Schools cannot deny student clubs these privileges just because not everyone agrees with the message.”

While the pro-life club is allowed to meet on campus, it was denied the official recognition status given to other clubs on campus, the suit contends.

The lawsuit also states that the club was barred access to promotional avenues through public address announcements, the school website and bulletin boards, among other means.

The student submitted a request to the school in October to start the "Live Action - Pro Life Club." Students of the pro-life club would meet to discuss community service, sexual abstinence, human rights issues, and keeping and raising children in the event of pregnancy, according to the suit.

But the plaintiff claims that officials rejected the name because the message it contained was "too controversial." The club currently goes by the name "Live Action."

Meanwhile, the school has recognized clubs involving chess, gay rights, break dancing and sci/fi horror movies. A Christian Club is also listed as one of the student groups operating at the school.

“It’s our hope that the court will grant our motion for immediate relief so that these students can tell others about their club,” said Cortman.

“The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled time and time again that this type of discrimination is unconstitutional and this lawsuit is intended to bring the school district in compliance with the law.”

*********

I personally think it's wrong of the school to forbid this club saying it's "too controversial" when their main goal is to teach abstinance and not supporting killing innocent children.

I think in light of the recent "Spears" teen pregnancy, this is a good thing and ALL schools should have this club so teens who are "waiting for marriage" know they are NOT alone.

Thoughts on this???

NBC says some find bookcase and Christmas lights offensive

Candidate wishing voters Merry Christmas upsets some folks

The latest effort to spread the idea that religion has no place in the public square comes as a response to a TV spot produced by presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

I urge you to watch the two video clips I have placed in this e-mail. First, is the ad by former Governor Huckabee wishing people a Merry Christmas. Next, is a clip from the Today Show (Dec. 18), hosted by Meredith Vieira, on which Governor Huckabee was a guest. Vieira opens the interview talking about how some say the ad is sending an overt religious appeal to voters.

Some have become so openly hostile to the Christian faith that they are upset when a candidate simply wishes viewers Merry Christmas and mentions that --after all-- Christmas is the day Christians celebrate the birth of Christ.

The governor is accused of putting a cross in the background of his ad. The 'cross' they find offensive is nothing more than a bookcase. The critics say also the three lights stand for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! What is disappointing is that the media grabs such a concoction and makes big news out of this ad.

To me, these accusations are utterly silly, and biased. Watch the clip from the Today Show. There are those who feel that nothing religious, especially wishing people Merry Christmas, should be made by anyone seeking public office. That is the attitude of those who want to drive religion from the public square.

I'm a stay-at-home mom now with a great husband and 2 great kids - 10 year old daughter and 6 year old son. We are active in our church and are proud Christians strong in our faith. You might not always agree with me and that's ok but please dont ever attack my faith or my family. My opinion is strong based on my faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
