I heard on the news that Bush and his friends are extanding orders by 120 days. Instend of coming back next March of 08. It would be close to Aug. I mean What is the point of extanding the orders and hearing that another troop has died!!! I mean did did bush do what wanted to do in Iraq, and Afganitan(sorry for misspelling) ... They should out an end to this and bring them home we are just sitting there on rears and really not doing anything expect getting blowen up!!! Only if he is going in for oil and money!! We would start a World War 3 if he does not pull out??? What do you think will happen if we stay in Iraq???  Are we in for Oil??? are we in for Money?? Are we in to pick on Iraq for 9/11?? Why dont we just throw a nuclear bomb on Iraq and kill everyone!!!

this is a good subject flyingman. i have a friend who is currently stationed in iraq now. he has been there for a total of 2 years (he already served a 2 year tour overseas in s. korea). his last visit to the states lasted for a measely week only to return back to the "sandbox" a day early due to a call of duty. he was supposed to be home in late january early february, but thanks to Bush and his colleagues his orders were extended for another 4 months. he called me this morning (night time for him) to tell me to delay summer plans (he was to come home late june or early july) because he has heard word that he may be extended for another 4 months. i miss my best friend and cringe everytime i hear "another military personnel died today" on the news. he signed up to protect his country, not to be taken away from it for so long.. god have mercy on everyone of those soldiers.

There is only one legitimate reason for keeping our troops in Iraq. Even if we cannot install an enduring democracy in that country, even if hopes for a permanent U.S. military presence in Iraq are no longer realistic, we have still incurred an obligation to the Iraqi people to restore at least a semblance of sanity and order to their country.

I saw a compelling E-mail from a soldier in Iraq broadcast on a national news show shortly after word of the extension reached the troops.
This soldier said something to the effect of, "I'd rather stay longer and win, than come home early and lose."
Having reported on the subject now for five years I'd bet this statement reflects the
feelings of a majority of our service men and women.

Well put, Shifty, as always.

The Men and women that are fighting for us. I know that they would not quite!! They are brave, they are fighting for a reason!!! I rather win this war than to lose!! I rather be there for 10 15 years and win. I rather have some form of peace in Iraq!!!
