SKYFOX!!

Did you guys see the high speed chase live on the news this morning? A guy was running from HPD and endangering everybody on the road. Thank God no one was hurt. The police got the bad guy after he lost control of the vehicle on 59 and slammed into the wall. They did a great job keeping things safe and apprehending him with no incident. Hats off to our police department for a job well done.

But I've really gotta salute SKYFOX for staying on him and even getting in there for some tight shots inside the car. Way to go Captain Matt and Micheal "SkyFoxShooter"!! I was praying for everyone's safety, including you guys up there. I bet work will seem dull after such an exciting morning!!

Agreed... these guys are professionals.. it can be a stressful situation, plus think about all the other choppers in the air, trying to accomplish the same thing! Props from me, as well!

Thanks guys for the nice words. It is very exciting doing that kind of story, and what I do is get into the camera work and the communication with Capt. Matt so that he can give me the position I need to get those shots. Yahyamoro, I was thinking the same thing as I was following this guy through all of the traffic, "This guy drives pretty good". The reason I was thinking that was he wouldn't go blowing through intersections, at least the big ones like Westheimer and Richmond, he would make a right going with the traffic. Still dangerous, just not AS dangerous. At the end, I think he lost it because he tried a lane change too aggressively and the rear tires broke free and he lost it. Like everyone, I'm just glad some innocent people didn't get hurt in the process. I kept hearing the reporters saying "He, or she,..", so I asked Matt to gain a little ground on him and I was able to shoot in the drivers window. After that, everyone said, "He...". Whatever it takes to make the report more 'factual'. Its just nice that it gets noticed, thanks again.

Patti: Thats what I was afraid of, too, that another chopper was gonna hit Michael and Matt, so I was praying!

SkyFoxShooter: Do you ever watch the tape when you get home? Just curious. Nice work!!

I saw that chase too and it was like being right there. The last 20 or 30 minutes were just fantastic. I did notice that no one was sure of the 'sex' of the driver until the cameraman got a really nice, tight shot of the driver. After that shot, everything was 'He'. Boy, skyfoxshooter would get right in there. If someone wanted to know which radio station he was listening to, I think he could've zoomed in on that too. lol. When he lost it at the end, everything was just right. It could've been a scene from a movie. Great job guys.

I thought maybe I had it on the wrong tv station because I was trying to watch the news and this looked like something from a movie!! lol I had to do a double take then it hit me this is really happening right now. That's when I started praying for everyone's safety.

As far as me watching it after I get home, I usually just watch what is on the news that night and sometimes (like this morning) it is on the morning show when we are flying. I can watch the newscast from the chopper. I do record it though with the lap top in the chopper as a backup for the recording at the station. (In case we have a signal problem during a important part of the chase) Oh, the guy in the chase wasn't listening to the radio or at least his little light ON the radio didn't work. Just kidding.....

texasdebs you took the words right out of my mouth...i wanted to post something like this but got to busy at work.

Mike(skyfoxshooter) like above great camera work...I believe you guys were the only ones to get a nice steady shot of the driver. And Capt. Matt...beautiful flying, and I must say that to all the piolts over the chase that day.

I was honestly surprised to see that HPD decided to keep up with him as fast as he was going...since 2005 they have generally hung back. I wanna see aome hands on who honestly thought that guy would spin out like that...LOL. As good as he was driving you knew it was comming but still...LOL

Again great job SKYFOX crew!!!

I live in San Antonio, I am so proud of Mike and capt Matt, because I sow the chase on Fox National News. And I too pray for them, every morning, while they are up doing the morning traffic. And yes they are very good, at what they do. GOOD JOB

I am of the very artistic type. I love to indulge in a good hobby, especially if it keeps me learning. I am a native Houstonian. I grew up in Pasadena, and have family in Galveston, East Texas, and all over Texas. I am kind-hearted and some say it is my downfall, but I prefer it against the alternative. I love funny movies, action movies, or chick-flicks. I love GOOD MUSIC of all kinds. I love to SING, play PIANO, play GUITAR, and write POETRY. I was also a professional dancer in some small theaters in New Jersey from 1997 until my car accident in June, 2000. (I studied DANCE here in Houston under SONJA ISHAM, and I competed GYMNASTICS here in Houston under Coach FOY CURLY.) I'm an amateur PHOTOGRAPHER and I am really good when I have the right tools- I'm always looking for that perfect shot. I attended PAGE PARKS Modeling and Acting when I was 18 as per the advice of Houston's INTERMEDIA model DIANA TATUM, and DAN CARTER made me look amazing my first photo shoot, so now I'm a wanna-be photographer. I love driving my NISSAN "Nina" and taking good care of her (she takes good care of me, after all). I love KARAOKE BARS!, gardening, cooking, painting, crochet/macramee. I do a lot of JUICING because it's really healthy and I only eat 100% NATURAL FOOD- I feel better and it tastes better. I like to watch OPRAH, EXTREME MAKE-OVER HOME EDITION (me & my hubby 'CRY watching TY'!), THE SIMPSONS, SEINFELD, AMERICAN IDOL, and MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE (five boys and a husband that acts like one- no wonder she flips out!). I'm a pretty spiritual person, we (me and my husband) are believers in Christ and my husband is also Hindu. We are newlyweds and we love each other very much. We have learned a lot together and from one another. Thanks for your interest. Nice to meet ya! Let's blog about it.
