A while ago, I was at the computer catching up on today’s blogs when my husband fell asleep on the couch while watching TV.  When I got up to go to the kitchen, he jumped up and said “Whew, I almost dozed off there”.  I laughed and told him that he’d been asleep for 30 minutes but he didn’t believe me.

I’m back at the computer and he is again, asleep.  I know this is wrong, but I can’t help myself and jump at the opportunity to mess with him J. I sternly call his name and ask “Did you almost doze off again?”  He looks at me, smiles and says, “No, I’m watching this [points to the TV]”.

Do you know someone who won’t admit to dozing off?

It's funny that your man does that because mine does it ALL the time, girl. LOL BUT when he falls asleep, he snores, and I have to wake him up. He ALWAYS tells me he "wasn't asleep". LOL You are SO not alone!

2 funny there teamj. Yes, know exactly what you mean. My poor Dad (bless his heart), he enjoyed watching sports. At their house there was only 1 TV. So my Mom would hear him snoring and tiptoe over to the TV (to change the channel...LOL). He immediately would be awake from a deep snore. Telling us that he was watching the game (good 1 Dad!!). Poor Dad...

I am the one who does it in my house. I feel bad but it is embarrasing to fall asleep. I don't remember what movies I've seen or not when we go the movie store so i sometimes get one we've already seen and the kids say mom you slept through that one last time!! And I have been known to snore also. Maybe I should attend Nappers Anonymous!!!

I sometimes don't but it's usually when I dream I was awake doing whatever it was I was doing and just think I ALMOST went to sleep. Other times I laugh and say "Well there goes my nap..."

My father use to do this, his excuss, "I'm just resting my eyes." I tease my daughter by pretending to be asleep and when she gets close to attack me with tickles I pounce.

my mom denies sleeping... saying she was only dozing. how she finds a difference between these to words is beyond me!

My grandmother does the same thing. I just can't figure out how she can sleep through a film and still know everything that happened in the film.

I guess you can say it's her talent. (lol)

Come on, we've all done this in school... the patented... prop head on left hand, desperately clutch pencil in right hand... position it on paper... and try to look like you're thinking and contemplating the important lesson you are learning. One of my friends said her professor told her to point the pencil upwards and rest your chin on it... that way when you do the deep sleep head bob... the point on the number 2 will wake you up!!
