Hurricane Hunters in Galveston!

NOAA's P-3 Hurricane Hunter Aircraft will be visiting Galveston Scholes Field on Tuesday, April 15th. The plane will be open for the public and media to tour from 3-5 pm. I will be there, along with "RadarDude." If you can, come on out and check out the aircraft! This is all part of a "Gulf Coast Hurricane Awareness Tour" put on by the National Hurricane Center. By the way, this is FREE!

I am going to try to attend. I will bring my camera its a one time thing to take a tour of a plane that flys through hurricanes and those foresters on board do a great job by getting information out to the media.

I WISH I COULD BE THERE........
My Father was an original member of the navy hurricane hunters. He was appeared twice in the movie slaterys hurricane. A pilot of course. Though I hope somebody would take photos and post them...Thanks........

whats cool is this. he met my mom in a concentration camp. They both escaped together.
were able to get to America, joined the U.S.Navy and fought Hitler. He and Mom got out in late 1943. He was a former german pilot for the Luffwaffe, though when Hitler found out he was a jew...it was over. off to the camps. Though he was fortunate to get away with my mom and a few others. After the war he stayed in the Navy and joined/ help create the first hurricane hunters. Bud/my dad, later got picked with the original 7 astronauts to start Nasa, which was Naca at the time. They are both gone now, but they gave me some incredible memories. He was a trainer, though he did mention alot he hated working with alot of the old nazi rocket scientists at nasa. But I look forward to the photos........
