I've noticed that the price of a barrel of oil has gone down the last couple of days.  It went down more than 5 dollars since yesterday.  How come when the price goes up, the gas price changes over night.  When it goes down, you don't see the same changes as when it goes up.  Why not the same drastic price changes as when its going to cost us?  Doesn't seem fair huh?  Who do you blame though?

While flying around in skyfox, we often see clouds that look like one thing or another.  What do you think this cloud looks like? (Besides a cloud)  Lets see if you see what I see.  I'm going to start looking for different shaped clouds and check your imagination.  I had one last week that looked like Abe Lincoln holding a tortilla with Jesus on it.  Too bad I didn't have my camera that day.

WITH GAS PRICES GOING HIGHER ALL THE TIME, OUR LIVES ARE CHANGED IN THE PROCESS.  SOME OF THE CHANGES ARE GOOD AND THEY WILL PROBABLY HELP SAVE MONEY.  SOME ARE CHANGES THAT WE MIGHT NOT WANT TO MAKE.  I KNOW THAT ON THE WEEKENDS I DON'T GO AS FAR AS I MIGHT WANT TO.  WHEN IT COSTS SO MUCH TO FILL UP I THINK THAT MANY OF US ARE LIMITING OUR TRAVELS TO SAVE MONEY.  HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD TO MAKE BIG CHANGES TO GET BY?

Last weekend I went to San Antonio and while driving I went through several radar traps.  Now when I was younger, I used to give approaching traffic the 'warning' signal.  (Flashing lights on and off, or from bright to dim several times)  As years have passed, the speeders have gotten crazier and the speeds much higher so I no longer warn traffic.  If you are 10 miles over or less, you won't even get stopped.  The cops are now looking for that speeder that is driving really fast.  I think if someone is going 90 or more, they probably need to be stopped.  What do you think?  Do you warn other traffic about radar traps, or do you let them fend for themselves?  My trouble is that I'd like to warn some, but not necessarily all of the speeders.

Is it Friday the 13th or what?  Ask 'skyfox' pilot , Capt. Matt.  After our morning traffic show, we went to refuel like we always do, and thats when it happened.   A fuel 'Sunami'.  The hose came out of the refueling 'hole', and as Capt. Matt sat close by on the skid, a large amount of Jet Fuel soaked him down.  Man, did I feel for him.  I hate that smell.  So, you can imagine what the ride back to our Hangar was like.  P.U....It was so bad, we landed and took off his door.  Right now he is in route home to shower and change.  Couldn't have done it any other way.  With everyone thinking about fuel lately, imagine wearing a bunch of it.  No fun at all.  I'm sure when he gets back it will be a little more funny, but until then, I'm holding the laughs.  Here is a snap shot of our Capt. after landing.

Well lets see who knows this one.....I'm sure it looks different from ground level, but I think it would still be recognizable....Let's see who can tell where this is...good luck to all.

This last weekend I was in San Antonio to take care of a few things, but it was also Fiesta Week.  Having grown up in S.A. I've been through it many times.  I managed to take a few pictures and here they are.  If you ever get the chance to make it there at that time, you will enjoy it.

Usually when we fly in the morning, I only get to communicate with the anchors by the 'up and down' and 'right and left' motion of the camera.  Its fun to do when the answer requires a 'yes' or 'no' answer.  This morning was cool though, because I actually got to talk with them.  Don and Matt (reporter and pilot) were both off this morning so I 'got the call'.  It was fun because accidents were 'few'.  We'll see how it goes tomorrow.  If you were watching this morning, thanks.

I guess if my dog can do it, we all can 'Stop and Smell the Roses'.  This is Ollie, a 160lb. Golden Retriever.  He really does like the flowers, and Pecans.(  I can't peel them fast enough for him.)  He also loves getting a bath.  Anyone out there have a dog that likes weird things or acts a little strange?

If there is anyone out there that hasn't come to San Antonio for 'Fiesta Week', you might want to give it a try.  Actually it's longer than a week, it started yesterday, (Friday, April 18th) and it lasts until Sunday (April 27th)  Next weekend would be a good time because there is the Battle of Flowers Parade on Friday the 25th and on Saturday the 26th there is the Flambo Night Parade.  I grew up in San Antonio so I've seen my share of the partying that happens in that week and few days.  Anyone out there ever been to Night in Old San Antonio?  That is some serious partying.  The parades are fun for kids and grown ups.  I love Houston, but during Fiesta Week, it is worth the trip to S.A.  If anyone decides to come, be safe going and coming back.  Later.....

Alright, here we go again, I think this picture 'might' be somewhat harder to figure out its location, then again, maybe not.....The only thing about this bridge is that there is one that is pretty similar, so lets see who can zero in on it......Good Luck and I'll give the answer tomorrow or Monday. Oh yeah, to the left is which direction and to the right is what direction?....  Happy hunting.....

O.K., the weather is clear this morning, and I've been looking for something to test your eyes from a different perspective. (900 ft. in the air).  Now this might be too easy, but maybe not so here goes....This is a well traveled intersection of two major, multilaned 'streets'.  (Don't want to give it away by calling it Interstates, or highways).  Can you....A: Name these two busy crossroads?  and ...B:  Which direction am I facing?  Good luck...

Since we're on the subject of food. Someone just told me this recently, and it works really well.  First let me ask.  Where do you keep your chips, ( potatoe, corn, whatever) when you don't finish the bag.  Before I always just closed them the best I could with a paper clip, rubber band, or something, and put them on a shelf.  A couple of months ago I was at a friends house, and I noticed that she took chips out of the freezer.  I had never done that myself and didn't know if it would take time for them to thaw out.  No, you can eat them right away, no waiting at all.  They were great, just like day one.  Is this common with you guys?

This morning was a little too hazy to get a good photo for the "Do you know Houston" game, so......A riddle instead.  I've always liked this one.  Here goes...

"Brothers and sisters I have none,  that mans father, is my fathers son."     What relation is 'That man' to me?    Good luck...

O.K. the computers are working again, so let's play "Do you know Houston?"  These two 'toothpick' looking things are sticking up towards the heavens.  Do you know which bldg. these things are on?  Actually, this should be a pretty easy one.  So, where have you seen these things before?  Good luck...

Hi, I'm Michael the skyfox photographer. I'm a lucky guy who gets to fly around Houston every day and cover different news stories. Interests include classic cars, motorcycles, and just doing fun stuff. If you should have any suggestions about what you would like to see from the air, please let me know. Until then, I'll be watching from above.
