Since we're on the subject of food. Someone just told me this recently, and it works really well.  First let me ask.  Where do you keep your chips, ( potatoe, corn, whatever) when you don't finish the bag.  Before I always just closed them the best I could with a paper clip, rubber band, or something, and put them on a shelf.  A couple of months ago I was at a friends house, and I noticed that she took chips out of the freezer.  I had never done that myself and didn't know if it would take time for them to thaw out.  No, you can eat them right away, no waiting at all.  They were great, just like day one.  Is this common with you guys?

Yep, the freezer. I thought it was weird too, but it works like a charm. I had some Doritos in the freezer that I forgot about, and about a month later when I was getting ice, I saw them and gave them a taste. Still crunchy. Try just a small bag, just to see, and let me know what you think. No defrost time required. I've never tried the refridgerator, but I suppose that would work too. (The bread doesn't get soggy?)

you mean it is possible to quit eating before the bag is empty?

LOL... isn't that the truth.
Actually, the freezer is good for lots of things. We buy several gallons of milk at a time (my daughter HAS to have her chocolate milk), and to keep them from spoiling, we freeze them. At first, I thought "that will never work... it will bust the container". Well I was wrong. It does push the container to it's limits, but keeps the milk as good as day one (once it thaws out). It's weird to see an expiration date that passed a few weeks back, but yet the milk still tastes good.

No, we don't keep ours in the freezer, the condensation can make them soggy. We have a big bread box we keep snacks in, and we have a bunch of chip-clips that are brightly colored and they're magnets, so we just stick em all over the fridge when we're not using them, that way they are always easy to find.

We have those kinds of clips too Debs! Thats what we use for our chips (or crisps as they're known across the pond), and then they get tossed into a basket on top of the fridge. Never thought about the freezer or anything, interesting.

We put some bread in the fridge and leave some on the counter, depending on how much room there is in the fridge. It doesn't get soggy unless you leave it for a while, and we go through bread really quickly so no worries for us!

We've frozen milk plenty of times before, especially when it's been on sale. I think we've only had one gallon jug burst on us from it expanding.

I've had chips in the freezer for some periods of time since I saw this, and they haven't gotten soggy yet. Bread, I don't know.
