There are lots of theory's about this.  I think that the younger women are driving much faster then before so when accidents happen, they can be bad.  I suppose guys get more tickets but that doesn't mean they drive the worst.  Women get out of tickets with regularity.  I dated someone who really drove badly.  You know the attitude, "I've got the right of way so I don't have to slow down."  I told her I would put that on her tombstone.  Anyway, I'm not sure if the question could ever be answered with any certainty.

You are correct. Some people are dead right. As far as which are worse drivers men or women, I don't think a generalization is fair. There are bad drivers of both sexes and all races. All I can do is be the defensive driver I was taught to be and not have the "I'm right attitude". People run red lights all the time so one must always be on the lookout even if your light is green. I have a friend who says the light was pink when she ran it. Thats at the end of the yellow but not quite red. Be safe.

Agree with handythib, think both sexes have an equal amount. Aggressiveness, attention, courtesy, a-hole quotient (comments, finger gestures, snide remarks, etc) ....Think the question could be reworded to suit the men too.... Who is the most scariest driver!!!?? LOL Now that would most definitely get a rousing round of applause from the women.

Men are ruder, meaner and more likely to crash while driving than women. Road-rage, head-on crashes, rollovers. Now, I do think that women probably have a spatial impairment overall. I mean, how many times have you heard of a guy running into a stationery object...LOL

Good comments from the two above this one. It may be a woman one day a man the next. Being defensive all the time can save your life. Just having the right of way isn't good enough. Yes, men are probably scarier drivers. Especially on motorcycles. I have a Harley, and I've had different girls say they won't ever get on the back of a motorcycle again. I always ask,"Who scared you, a brother or a boyfriend.?" It's usually one of the other. I guess guys like when girls hold on "tight." (a sneaky way to get a hug huh?)
As far as racial driving, I guess all races have their bad drivers.

I think it's a very individual thing. I know some wonderful women and men drivers, but I also know some not-so-good drivers of both sexes. I believe that insurance rates for young men are the highest...but I know some young men who are very good drivers and don't fit into that "young and wild" stereotype. Who really knows...?

doctorlove, great comment...all in fun ladies. guys can "MULTITASKERS" too, so like ned above says, who knows? Its one of those questions that can never be answered for sure. Every age, every race, both sexes will have good and bad. Its just fun to ruffle feathers sometimes.
I don't have kids, but if I did, I would tell them like I told my younger sister when she was in her teens and dating, "If your ever in a car with a wreckless driver, call me(no matter what time), and I'll come and get you. No problem, no attitude, no lectures." If she felt I would give her a hard time, she wouldn't call.

I had an e-mail on this subject just the other day, and must've deleted it. It was a man complaining about a woman who swerved into his lane because she was putting on her makeup, and he nearly dropped his electric shaver, donut, cell phone, and almost spilled his coffee because he had to actually grab the steering wheel he was holding steady with his knee. ROFL because my hubby sent it to me, and would do all 3, if I let him. LOL
