Mr. Sanford for English and Reading
Mrs. Lowery for Choir
Mrs. miles for social studies
Mr. Lozano for math
Coach Troutman for PE
and Mr. Davis for Science.
These teachers really did their job to teach my child. I can not show them enough appreciation.

My oldest made me so proud. They had her 6th grade awards today. She has one for A/B honor roll, Most improved, and for Honor choirs. She has a great looking certificate with three gold seals plus I was told she passed her reading and math TAKS. She will be a seventh grader next year.:)

I understand why Fox needs to make sure people know that it is not a Fox sponsored event. In Fact I wanted to tell Stormchaser a big Thank you for this. I do plan on attending the picnic. I hope I am not the only one that will be there though. I also cant find the place and time again. I know the park near George BRown center. I hope I see a lot of you there! oh and what should I bring??????

OMG!!!!! They slapped him on the hand again!!! This is such BS! I am so sorry about doing this, but you know if it was turned around and it had been a white man accused of shooting the black tow truck driver that Al Sharpton, QuanellX and Jackson would be all over this. I hate putting race in ANY case but DANG! He needs jail time. HE KILLED somebody! Do the courts just not understand this!!!!! Talk about blind Justice! Steven Hardin will never be able to rest in peace. My heart goes to his family. It is so hard to believe it has almost been 10 years since sitting there in that court room testifying and over ten when witnessing the murder happen. Yep it was murder in case you didn't hear the first part. AGH! This is just so frustrating!!!

10 years ago a tow truck driver was murdered. The murderer was given 10 years probation. That right there was upsetting enough. But now I read he (the murderer) has been able to get around all his probation and he isn't in jail. OMG!  You know if it had been some average joe he would be locked up. But this murderer has family on HPD and was a former Houston Fire Fighter. I hope and pray that the Hardin family gets some TRUE justice this time. They need top punish the guy and punish him right! Fox, Please keep us updated on this .

     Ok. So here we go again. We seem to get a few people to write blogs to hear them type. I am so just wound up about things that have been posted to who I feel are my closest friends. I started blogging to be able to reach people about driving safely around big trucks. That was my first blog. That one blog stirred up a lot of friendships and a lot of lessons.
    I love Fox news. I love Fox 26 News to be more accurate. I enjoy watching all anchors and reporters. I love the views of everyone. I love the chemistry on the set. We all have our favorites and everyone knows who I enjoy.
    What I don't enjoy is seeing rude remarks, just to be rude. I mean there is not real argument about what has been said. I watched the move Game Plan and there is a very good lesson to be learned "Stupid is a mean word." We now have that on our dry erase board at school. Why be mean? What do people get out of being mean to people.
    Comment what you like but please in the future if you want to comment please make it a point that can be argued  WITHOUT the disrespect.

ok this got me so upset. I had a parent usee the excuse that her son wasnt on his meds. ok i understand some children neeed med to "function" but to continuely let the children do what ever they want and use the "med" card is outrageous! And heaven forbid if a teacher tries to punish one of their children. You may lose or get placed somewhere else if you do. If your student refuses to do what they are told they need to be PUNISHED! I deal with so many kids that think they can use and abuse their teachers and they can becuase no one wants to upset the parents. Whoop my child if they disrespect you. I am so tired of being called names and yelled at becuase I am trying to teach them how to capitalize the days of the week or that you have to capitalize I.

 

Yep my darling hubby went back into the truck. I am sooo excited. I cant wait to be able to take a trip with him. Hopefully we will be able to catch up and stay cuaght up!!! Keep in eye out for more truck safety tips!

Ok what the couple did was wrong on soooo many levels. No child should be bound with duct tape and dangled into the dumpster.  BUT what I have a problem with in the whole stroty is that they are bringing race into it. Yes the Byrd incident happened there but that doesnt make everyone who lives there a racist. I am sure that if the child was white and the same thing was going on they would have done the same thing. To bring race into something like that is crazy. But of course if the couple had been black the child white we we would have never heard of the story. I feel the case is about child endangerment and nothing more and to have 1 person go on and say it is becuase of race becuase that is where the dragging case was located tells me that Fox didnt pick a very "smart" person to do their sound bite.  That would be like saying if you live in ouston you are racist becuase there was hanging nooses reported there.

WOW! I am trying to figure this whole ting out. I got notice last month, dated February 29 that i owed 1732.40 not including my march payment of 655.20 to stop "foreclosure"  on my home. OK so when you had the 655.20 it come s to 2402 and some odd change. So I talk to collections guy make arrangements for it to be settled by the 1st. No big deal everything is worked out. Well today I get another notice say I owe 3447.60. OK that is like double within 19 days. How in the world can they jump it to twice what I owed in 19 days!!!! OMG!!!! I called and they say they have to pull my file but I already paid 1200 on Monday per agreement to the Feb 29 letter. How am I supposed to come up with an extra 1000 every 19 days if they keep this up. When dh changed jobs it hurt money wise and I am not making excuses and when it rains he cant work which is why I got working with the school. But no matter what we do if they can just keep adding money owed for whatever they please how can I keep giving them money just to lose my house anyway. I have always been optimistic about everything but i am starting to lose hope here. IS bankruptcy the answer?! I hope not because I really don't want to do that. My husband and I almost have thing caught up and then they throw this on to us with no explanation why. Is it just me or does their math add wrong. I thought 2+2=4 not 8.

I have three dogs headed to the pound. I am not getting another animal for as long as I live! Friday my goat Patches died, found him after school Friday. Today I come home and my pig, my little Bacon, was attacked by my dogs in her pen. She is dying. I cant take her to the vet becuase I have to save every penny I have to pay the last of my past due on my house so they dont foreclose. I am so tired of losing my closest animals. I am taking it as a sign that I dont need livestock. I am sorry but I just need to vent this out.  So if anyone is interest I have 2 labs and a boston terrier pug mix needing new homes!

If you haven't already put your vote in today is the day. I will be voting today during my conference period. I hope everyone gives the time to decide who they want to run for president. Many are saying who you want to be president but that is in November.

I  hope everyone is doing good this morning and staying warm. I know up here I am freezing and don't like it!!!!! Oh I cant wait for the warm weather to come back.

Spring Break is around the corner what are you planning to do. Myself I think I will be laying out if weather permits and relaxing! After teaching my students I will be long over due for a relaxing break.

I used to live a few blocks away where the HPD is putting their Mounted Patrol unit at. I believe they could not have picked a better area. During the time I lived down there, I have had a car stolen and sevral air compressors stolen not to mention the drugs that are rampid in the area.  The gas station that is close near there is a prime place to buy all sorts of illegal drugs. I have dealers stop my vechile while my kids are in the car asking what I want when I have NEVER done any type of drug in my life. I am very happy to see that the HPD presense will be down there. As for the so called "smell" please there are livestocks all around the area. Makes you really wonder why they dont want the HPD there.

KUDOS to HPD for tyring to clean up an area that needs to be cleaned up.

I saw the promo about the choking game on the news this morning. This is very dangerous. I hope parents pay attention to this story. We had a student had to go to the hospital because of this game. Another game that is happening is called the ABC torture game. If your child comes home with a sore on the front of their hand then they may be playing. What they do is take an eraser or their finger nail and scrape the front of the hand once for each letter of the alphabet. With all the infections going around this is just as dangerous.
This is why Parents need to know what is going on in school. Talk to your child's teacher. Most teachers have email, just communicate. I speak with my kids teachers at least 3 times a week. I also stress to my junior high daughter that if i find out she plays these games she will have a lot more trouble at home. PLEASE WATCH TONIGHT!
