I used to live a few blocks away where the HPD is putting their Mounted Patrol unit at. I believe they could not have picked a better area. During the time I lived down there, I have had a car stolen and sevral air compressors stolen not to mention the drugs that are rampid in the area.  The gas station that is close near there is a prime place to buy all sorts of illegal drugs. I have dealers stop my vechile while my kids are in the car asking what I want when I have NEVER done any type of drug in my life. I am very happy to see that the HPD presense will be down there. As for the so called "smell" please there are livestocks all around the area. Makes you really wonder why they dont want the HPD there.

KUDOS to HPD for tyring to clean up an area that needs to be cleaned up.

Yeah, well, too bad the rest of the people don't feel like you do. From what I saw this morning, they don't want the HPD there.

But it's probably because the people who are complaining are the ones selling the drugs!!

I would imagine that would be correct mik1of3. Only people who don't welcome the law in to help would be people who are lawless.

The present location of the facility is in the most expensive zip code in Houston. The Houstonian and multi million dollar homes are located across the street. The HPD facility has not hurt the property value in any way. I would imagine HPD can sell the current land for a huge profit. I laughed when I heard people saying it was going to hurt their property value.
