A Trucker's Wife Point of View

This may be odd but I don't worry about flood warning/watches. I figure if it gets too bad we will be ok. I don't panic. I keep an eye out on what the weather forecasts are saying and I go from there. My roommate on the other hand seems to panic every time the NWS issues a watch or warning of some sorts. I was wondering what do you do when that little buzzer goes off while watching your favorite program?

Wow I know I haven't been on like I used to. I do watch I promise. A lot has happened lately and I haven't even been able to keep up with friends on myspace, yuwie or any social site for that matter.
Kids are just about ready for school. For the first time we just about have everything. This is something I am very proud of because years past hubby and i always seemed to wait for the last moment to get the school supplies. Not this year WOO HOO!
Hubby is still trucking. Thank goodness he is a company driver. We are very happy with the diesel prices going down though because that means the company won't turn down his truck in order to save fuel. Do you know how dangerous a truck can be if he can only go 60 MPH???      Then I got me a new fur baby. I am hoping for the best hoping no one steals her from mew. She is part chihuahua and weenier dog. I have named her princess. The name just seems to fit.
Here is the most insane stupid thing we could be doing. As many know hubby and mine luck has pretty much gone down hill when we decided we had enough of people taking advantage of us for money, and everything else. So for us to "turn our luck around" we have opened our home to a girl in need. She is 22 year old who was kicked out or was requested to leave because she is pregnant. I am hoping things will get better for her and us as she is still not quite following the rules of the house. I  know most people think we are nuts for this but maybe we can help her get on her feet. And maybe just maybe things will get better for us as well.
I hope to be on more often as I truly miss chatting with the finest group of people in Houston. PBmom I still looking forward to us having lunch one day
:)

Ok i know some stations are franchised and owned by different people etc. So the prices will be different. But why and I will mention names. Flying J on 242 is 3.85 for unleaded but the Flying J in Baytown is 3.68! WoW almost a 20 cent difference. I know the gas comes from the same place. They have the same overhead cots etc. Both stations are from the headquarters in Ogden Utah. How can they have such different prices for gas? You telling me that baytown can afford to give 3.68 gas and the 242 location can't????? whats up with that.

Well tonight we went to the Fire Work show down here in my homje town. ABC news was down there the local station, and my boy Kendall landed second place in a watermelon eating contest. The prize if he would have won would have been a spot on the weather forcast for their 10 o clock newscast. The poor boy was so disappointed. He did a great job. Cold watermelon in a short :)

Be Back Sooon!

Wow after near four years since my last visit I am back home! I graduated from Yuma hIgh in 1996. I moved to Houston Texas in 1997, where I met my husband and had 2 additional kids. I am home visiting until the 7thg and was so thrilled to see myfoxyuma. I am a big blogger and fan of myfoxhouston. Back home we have had blogger picnics where we meet an open public spot. Have you guys done anything like that? I am really intersted in what my home town has to say and now I can check in when I am back in Houston.

I have chatted with several online friends and have enjoyed getting to know some of them. There is one though that I have truly enjoyed messaging to that has brought friendship to a whole new meaning to me. I have met this person through fox blogger picnics but truly started talking since the last one. This person has helped me in some pretty low times and if it wasn't for them I would not be able to hold my head up and look forward to the future. The person knows who they are, and I just want to say thank you!

Wow it has been awhile again lol. I have been busy helping with some radio shows online. I am not quite ready to be on my own yet but i am crew for one. The site I got to is www.nowlive.com . They have several programs and all someone needs to do a show is a mic and cam. I hang out on the show called The Pit with Jojo. I am easy to find. I am keasling on the show.

Now that school is out I have been concentrating on getting ready for vacation. Yes I will be gone for 2 weeks. I am going home to visit mom and dad! I am really excited about it. I am thinking of renting a laptop for those two weeks just so i know I can keep up with my online programs. I don't want to get too far behind everything. Yes I know I will be on vacation but hey my hometown only has so much to do. as what is being told to me the grandparents have the time alloted for me anyways LOL. I am only hoping to catch some of my high school buddies while I am down there. Wow it has been almost 12 years since graduating. I am getting old.

Like I mentioned I have been participating in some online programs. Making a few cents here and there getting quite a little bit of a bank roll going on. Nothing that will pay the mortgage just yet but hey I can get a few extra gallons of gas. I had always thought that those paid to click programs were a scam. I found some that are not. You want to know which ones, just drop me your email i will give them to you.

With the kids out of school, I though have been able to play again with them. My son is in the truck with daddy right now so it is just me and my girls. We haven't done much but play together and watch movies and we have sneaked off to go out to eat a time or two LOL.

So what has everyone been up too? Can't wait to hear from you all :)
Plus I love sending post cards so if you like I will send ya some!

My oldest made me so proud. They had her 6th grade awards today. She has one for A/B honor roll, Most improved, and for Honor choirs. She has a great looking certificate with three gold seals plus I was told she passed her reading and math TAKS. She will be a seventh grader next year.:)

I understand why Fox needs to make sure people know that it is not a Fox sponsored event. In Fact I wanted to tell Stormchaser a big Thank you for this. I do plan on attending the picnic. I hope I am not the only one that will be there though. I also cant find the place and time again. I know the park near George BRown center. I hope I see a lot of you there! oh and what should I bring??????

OMG!!!!! They slapped him on the hand again!!! This is such BS! I am so sorry about doing this, but you know if it was turned around and it had been a white man accused of shooting the black tow truck driver that Al Sharpton, QuanellX and Jackson would be all over this. I hate putting race in ANY case but DANG! He needs jail time. HE KILLED somebody! Do the courts just not understand this!!!!! Talk about blind Justice! Steven Hardin will never be able to rest in peace. My heart goes to his family. It is so hard to believe it has almost been 10 years since sitting there in that court room testifying and over ten when witnessing the murder happen. Yep it was murder in case you didn't hear the first part. AGH! This is just so frustrating!!!

ps
Ford -- happy 10 year anniversary of meeting you!

10 years ago a tow truck driver was murdered. The murderer was given 10 years probation. That right there was upsetting enough. But now I read he (the murderer) has been able to get around all his probation and he isn't in jail. OMG!  You know if it had been some average joe he would be locked up. But this murderer has family on HPD and was a former Houston Fire Fighter. I hope and pray that the Hardin family gets some TRUE justice this time. They need top punish the guy and punish him right! Fox, Please keep us updated on this .

RIP Soon
