Samantha Drake: My Thoughts, My Words, My Life

I-RIGHT-I left the following comment to my post entitled FOOLISHNESS:

"It sounds to me that autisic and other special needs children have no business in public schools.

It also sounds like men should be teaching even if it means paying them more than women. Mr. Paddle and I would have that class's attention 30 seconds after I walked through the door."

My response to that is the following:

Ignorant comments like the one above are part of the reason children have no self control and respect for others.  Autistic children and have just as much right to an education as any other child.  If I-RIGHT-I had a child with any special needs, I'm sure he'd be singing a different tune.  To all others thank you for reading and I hope my journey is in some way helpful to you.

I-Right-I left the same thoughtless comment on my blog (see PBMom blog on Attention Texas Taxpayer). That is why God gave us our kids and didn't give that person a child like ours. Welcome to the blogs being a mother of a 12-year-old child with autism.

We should just ignore that a$$ and not add fuel to his fire. Good luck in your endeavors! You sound like a hard-working, caring person!

Sorry to lift up your skirt ladies! I did not say that the mentally retarded should not be educated. I stated that they do not belong in public schools. With all the money the State steals from us, with all the money the ISD's waste you'd think we could afford to put children like yours in an educational environment suitable to their needs.

Ok, take my suggestion for what it is worth.
Just delete the comment between kagua2 and the mayor.
Anytime a replyer is rude I think the blogger has the right to cut them off at the knees.

Kagua2 nailed the issue. Ignore the ignorant and I would add, when they choose to hang around then just delete them. Once they begin to act right then let them come back.

eddie hemorrhages bigotry, hatred, indifference, intolerance, and racism. i do not allow him (or any of his imaginary "friends") to spew venom on my blogs. i would take the messenger's advice and delete him. you will recognize his "friends" when they praise and support his psychotic thinking.

-Right-I ==this person is just taking up our time. We all know that the schools get funding for these children.
We love our special needs children so I am just going to ignore ignorant comments by people who need a life!!!!!!!!!!

"X" AMOUNT OF TAX DOLLARS SHOULD BE SPENT ON EACH CHILD. IF SPECIAL NEEDS "JOHNNY" GETS MORE HELP BECAUSE HE RIDES THE SHORT SCHOOL BUS, THAT MEANS AVERAGE "SUSIE" WILL NOT GET X AMOUNT OF TAX $ SPENT ON HER EDUCATION. SUSIE WILL BE A CONTRIBUTING TAXPAYER SOME DAY, HOWEVER "JOHNNY" WILL CONSUME A HUGE AMOUNT OF TAX DOLLARS ON SOMETHING THAT IS A MEDICAL ISSUE, NOT AN EDUCATION ISSUE. WHY PUNISH EVERYONE?

U people are way too cranky. Everyone has the right to express their own opinion, even if u dont like it. I'm confused as to where in the constitution it states that a person has the right to walk around every day and not be offended??!! You're looking for confrontation in I-RIGHT-I' s statements, he was'nt condemning special needs children to a less than suitable education, he was simply stating that they need "special education" due to their special needs.

My name is Samantha Drake and I'm a 24 year old college student and mother. I currently attend the University of Phoenix-online. I will be graduating with my BS in Psychology in June. My son, Marquell, is 6 years old and has autism. He was diagnosed in early August. We started testing him when his speach was not developing at the normal rate. He has had speach therapy since he was about 4 years old and it has been an uphill battle from there. I know that with time everything will get better but until then we are working together until that time comes.
