Our favorite detective Dave Robicheaux is coming to the big screen!  "In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead" is now a movie.  It's still in the fine tuning stages.  They are looking at a release date of late this year, but more probably next spring.

Tommy Lee Jones is Dave; John Goodman is Clete Purcell.

Check out Jim's website: www.jamesleeburke.com for pictures from the set and a message board for all things JLB related.  It'll also keep us updated for the actual release date.  Our cheeky mon, Pamala Burke is the board administrator.

Keep it Copacetic!

Ah, Spring Break!   It means it's also Mailbox Baseball Season! Our poor mailbox, and our neighbors', played in the opening game!  Luckily, the batter is blind--or they were driving too fast--because they didn't manage to hit a homer with any of them!

We've had our mailbox taken out so many times by drivers hugging the curb, and not being able to negotiate the bend in the road, that we moved it to the other side of the driveway. Unfortunately, that doesn't help when it's mailbox baseball season!

Let's hope this season is only Spring Break long!

This morning I was up 'dark & early' and clicked onto VH1 Classic's We Are the 80's. I swear, y'all, I could remember all the words to the songs!  Sometimes I can't remember my own name, but I knew those lyrics.  When my husband Barry got up, he watched and said, "Oh, yeah! This was a good one!"  It didn't matter what video it was, it was always a good one.

I'm not familiar with any of the current music, except for Country. I'm getting old, but hey, there's nothing like "dancing in the dark" looking for "nothing but a good time" and "radar love".

Our poor mailbox was taken out for the tenth time!!  The last nine times we could cobble it back together, but the 10th time did 'er in. We were up 'dark & early' one morning last week and heard a horrible noise.  We thought at first it was a landscape trailer bouncing down the road.  That bouncing was our mailbox!!  We found it in the next-door neighbor's yard along with the support arm.  The only thing left standing was the upright!!

We DO know that whoever hit it was driving a Ford.  We found their mirror in the street.

So, I'm keeping my eye out for Fords with a missing passenger-side mirror driving down our street.....

Does this happen to anyone else?

I switch between ringtones, depending on my mood.  Right now, it's Everyday America, by Sugarland. Sometimes, it's the theme song from Austin Powers (Soul Bossa Nova); I also have "Moments" from Emerson Drive; "Swing" by Trace Atkins; "Nothing Better to Do" by Leann Rimes; "Summertime" by Kenney Chesney; "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and the best of all:  "Fins" by Jimmy Buffett!!

My husband's incoming ringtone is by Rare Earth "I just want to Celebrate".  When I call him, it rings as Vivaldi's "Spring".

How do you 'ring'?
