Picnic Notice
May 12, 2008 | 2:18 PM PST
Category:
Entertainment
Please note this advisory about a picnic being discussed on this website, which appears to be taking place on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Discovery Green. We want to alert you that the picnic is not an event organized or sponsored by KRIV FOX 26.
It has come to our attention that a blogger on this website has made threats about “attacking” some of the attendees at the picnic (and he has singled out gay males). If you decide to attend and participate in the picnic, please understand that you will be doing so at your own risk. If you attend, you will be solely responsible for your own safety and security.
Our primary concern is for the safety and security of our blogger community while enjoying the web site. We remind you again that the picnic is blogger initiated and organized, and that KRIV FOX 26 cannot be responsible for your personal safety at this event. It is unfortunate that we live in a day and age where no threat can be ignored, and we want to give full disclosure to our blogger community in order that you can make your own informed decisions.
Again, KRIV Fox 26 is neither organizing nor sponsoring the picnic.
So everyone can be reminded of our Blogging Policy, please click here:

As of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, you will no longer have to wait to have your blog posts and comments approved; however, we will still continue to approve photos. Also, the message boards have reopened.
With that being said, we are relying on the myFOXhouston blogging community to help us police the site. If you spot anything online that you feel should be removed, violates the Blogging Policy or notice any suspicious activity, please use the "Report This" button on any blog post or e-mail myfoxweb@fox26.com with a link to the questionable content.
We want everyone to have fun and feel comfortable blogging on myFOXhouston.com. So everyone can be reminded of our Blogging Policy, please click here:

Blog/Board Issues
Jul 28, 2007 | 11:31 AM PST

The myFOX blog and message board network was recently attacked by a few hackers who thought it might be fun to fill the space with vulgar language and spam. While they apparently haven't made it to myFOXhouston.com yet, our developers thought it would be best to take the boards down and increase modification on the blogs for the weekend as a precaution.
Throughout the weekend and until those responsible can be stopped, the myFOXhouston.com message boards will remain offline. You will also experience some delay in seeing your blog posts or comments appear as we closely monitor activity.
Please be patient with us and please let us know if you spot anything online that need to be removed. Report suspicious activity using the "Report This" button on any blog post or by e-mailing myfoxweb@fox26.com.
P.S. These hackers have resorted to filling the blog and message board space with hundreds of spam posts. They HAVE NOT obtained your e-mail addresses or log in information.
On a side note, we want everyone to have fun and feel comfortable blogging on myFOXhouston.com. We'd hate to see any of our bloggers leave the community.
With that being said, if you see something on the blogs that you feel violates our Blogging Policy, which every blogger agreed to when signing up for a blog, please e-mail a link to the questionable material to myfoxweb@fox26.com. By doing this, you are helping police the community and will ultimately help us "build a case" so-to-speak on why a blogger should be temporarily or permanently banned, if any action is to be taken at all.
Sometimes the best way to deal with a blogger you don't agree with is to completely ignore them, and police your own posts by deleting any comments from your blog that you don't like.

Blogger Picnic Photos

A group of bloggers, who've only known each other as screen names on the myFOXhouston.com Blogs, finally met in person Saturday.

Click here to view photos from the picnic.
More than a dozen bloggers met at Bill Crowley Park Saturday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Several brought members of their family and/or their dogs.
Besides finally meeting in person, bloggers chatted with one another and members of the FOX 26 News team while snacking on some delicious potluck dishes.
"We're having a picnic because we wanted to just have a gathering where we could all meet each other and not just meet on the blogs."said Matt Glen, who is known as stormchaser06 on the myFOXhouston.com blogs.
The picnic was organized entirely by the bloggers through the blogs. After several members decided it was time to meet, stormchaser06 and Writing_with_Power put the vote to the blogging community about where the picnic should be held.
FOX 26's Andrea Watkins, Sally MacDonald and Doug "My Tech Guy" Delony, along with myFOXhouston.com's Sr. Web Producer Andrea Mooney. also attended the event.
Despite it being hot and humid, everyone who attended said the picnic was fun and that it was finally nice to put a spoken voice behind the written word.
And for those who didn't attend, there was some talk about organizing another meeting soon. So, stay tuned to the blogs for more information.
