Skip a treat... start exercising a little more?

We're challenging our viewers/bloggers to join us over the next month to take 1-simple step, toward a healthier lifestyle.

Then, we'll check up on you, the end of May!!!!  (Please let me know if YOU'D like our cameras to follow up with your progress.)

I'm struggling with what bad habit to drop.  I just HAVE to have my Snicker's bar, when I'm all stressed out.  Hmmm?  Maybe I'll add a day of exercise, each week?

What can you do?

I don't think I've had one carbonated beverage since the beginning of the year. I have also significantly cut my sugary food/ snack intake since then. Woo Hoo for New Years Resolutions to eat healthier!

Still working on exercising more, started trying to get back into a regular routine just this week. Which reminds me, I need a 30 minute walk or bike ride today.

I am now 108 days quit from smoking. Now, if I can just give up that one regular (as opposed to diet, caff. free) Coke a day, I'll be set. :)

Not sure what I'd give up LOL! I guess my afternoon power snack LOL! Maybe skip my Starbucks triple grande non fat no whip peppermint white chocolate mocha--well--not have it for a few days a week atleast!! One of those Grandes' lasts me 2 days LOL! I'm working on the exercise part LOL!! With this new job, I'm on my feet most of the day anyway-that's exercise right??? I'm way to "pooped" when I get home to even cook LOL!

WW-I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Proud of you!!!!!!!

cute daisies on your new pic, kenswife... wow -how do you keep up with the name of your fav. coffee? LOL.

You guys are all doing great...

I have this thing for "broccoli & beef" these days, at a corner Chinese food restaurant. It's so fabulous - I tell myself I'm just eating my "veggies" - but it's gotta be full of sodium and who knows what else? I think that's what I'll quit. at least try to quit. '-)

I have a gym membership, but no time to go. At least I didn't until fifteen minutes ago..my dad and my sisters are on a new kick and I'll be able to go along. Good. I need it for both my mental and physical well being.
I'm trying to streamline our eating, too. With prices going up, I have the perfect excuse for not buying the junk. I do allow myself one fast food meal a week, but it seems when I do, the grease in it makes me nauseaous, so maybe I'll be able to give that up, too.
My biggest candy weakness has always been Werther's Caramels or Milk Duds. I had some dental work done that makes THAT too much trouble..and mentally traumatic. (I pulled out a filling and when I did that, the tooth broke and I had to cap it, so now I'm afraid to eat anything too chewy or hard.) So I have given them up. Sigh.
Now, all that remains is Dr Peppers as my only vice. That and sunshine. All things considered I think I'm doing okay.

Eat a salad everyday for lunch (olive oil rather than dressing)

run 12 miles a week

Skate for at least 4 hours a week

snack on fruit

Don't drink sodas

avoid fried foods

watch my salt intake.

This isn't a diet this has been my lifestyle for the past three years. I think I'm alright.

sinisterspaceblinky - that's fantastic news! However, do you know where in the world I can find that amazing little flat beef? hmmmm.

So, then if I can still have my weakness - I guess I'll have to go with mik1of3 and cut out my Dr. Peppers. That's going to be HARD!

I enjoy anchoring the 9pm news at Fox 26 and also serving as Medical Reporter. My favorite parts of the day are hanging out in the O.R. in scrubs, then heading back to the station to get behind the anchor desk. One of my other favorite roles is being a mother. I was blessed with a son two years ago, and he has helped me see the world from a new perspective. I enjoy everything just a little more, now! I certainly look at medical reports in a new way, and understand more how important it is to help keep our viewers healthy & happy!
