At the risk of embarassing my 14y/o grandson-I wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAGE OLIVER!!  (That's Gage in the brown and white shirt) His birthday is August 12!!

Your Granmall and Grampaw love you soooooooooo much and we are so proud of you!!!!

This is for all of you that are computer literate LOL!!  I'm not sure, but I think my computer is getting sick-hope it's not a virus.  I have McAffee, Ad Aware, and SpyBlaster on it-so I can't imagine a little intruder getting in it--but I guess anythings possible!!  I do all of the temporary file clean outs etc. on a daily basis-remove cookies etc.  BUT.................

it has started making a loud "winding" noise where the fan is--only if we are on the computer for  a long period of time OR if we are on a page that has alot of "flash" stuff on it.  Sometimes when we are on "My Space" it runs very slow and the cursor moves in very slow motion.  I have plenty of memory left-so I doubt that could be the problem. 

I had the computer cleaned out etc. last year due to viruses--and it was basically "rebuilt". 

ANY suggestions out there?  Anything I can check on myself before paying big bucks to get it looked at???

Okay-let's see if I can make this long story short LOL! 

A few weeks ago, my grandson came home from school and called me telling me that our whole neighborhood had received some kind of plastic containers from Bayer.  He said he'd leave it on the front porch for me.  I thought to myself-"Why would they leave something FREE?"

I got home and sure enough-there was a nice blue plastic storage container on my porch.  Inside the nice container was a note from the City of Baytown encouraging us to "recycle" and leave the blue container out on the curb on garbage day LOL!  I told Ken that I was using this little box to store some old toys in LOL!

Well-Ken called the City of Baytown inquiring about these containers etc.  He was told that whether we recycle or not, an add'l $2.50 per month is being added onto our water bill!!  We were both SHOCKED LOL!  So basically, this cute little blue storage box is costing us a small fortune to "rent" LOL!  Goes to show that you really don't get "something for nothing" nowadays do ya??

Has this happened in any other cities??  If so, what are YOUR charges??

Has anyone noticed Jose's spiffy new suits this week?  They are very "Spring time" looking-very dapper!! It's very refreshing to see a man who is not afraid of change-and for getting away from the darker suits!!  Way to go Jose-maybe you'll be a "trendsetter" for other anchors????

Do you REALLY think you could use this bathroom LOL??

I know that this has been on the news and affects J.C. Penneys cardholders-BUT-GE Money Bank is also over several other credit cards-and 1 of them is a PayPal card-which I have LOL!

I received a letter in the mail from GE Money which claims that a "backup computer tape" containing SOME of MY personal information is missing.  And the letter goes on to say "We take responsibilty to safeguard your personal information seriously and regret any inconvienence this may have cause".  The letter goes on to say "Please be aware that PayPal was no way responsible for this incident.  There is NO record of the tape being removed from the facility and we have no reason to believe that anyone has accessed OR misused your information."

  They play off the signifigance of MY information being stolen/missing from them--so casually!  I take this very serious and wonder how a "tape" can get lost??  Probably was an inside job-how else would it disappear?

I've never had this happen-but I don't have any credit cards-this was for a "virtual-online only" PayPal card!  Did anyone else get the letter and have you had any ramifications from their negligence???

Not sure if the media mentioned the other companies that are involved in this "missing" computer tape, but I think it should definately be "brought to the light"!!

Not sure if this is true for ALL Starbucks--but on 1 of the country stations this morning, they were bombarded with phone calls from Starbucks customers.  The callers was saying that Starbucks employees were proudly proclaiming "We don't celebrate CHRISTmas here at Starbucks, just JOY"!

I went to 1 of the Starbucks here in Baytown this morning, just to see if I heard this new "proclamation" and thankfully, they said nothing like the statement above.  Thank GOD! 

Did any of you hear this??  Have you had this experience at ANY establishments yet??

Gosh-right here at the holidays we've had a few home appliances go "ker plunk" on us!! Our A/C was out from last Tuesday until this past Monday and a few weeks before that, our dryer went out. 

Thank God, we have all of our appliances insured and it only costs us $55.00 to have repairs done.  The A/C people made a few trips to our home over the course of a week-which would have normally cost a small fortune LOL!  As it turns out, the compressor was "shot" and they replaced it.  NOW-if we didn't have this appliance insurance we would have paid out ALOT of money!!

They dryer needed a new motor and something else LOL-and yep-we only had to pay $55.00 for it!!

I never knew about this particular company that insures ALL of your home appliances, but it's certainly well worth the $40.00 a month we pay!!  Do you have your appliances "insured"??

Whew-OKAY!! Now I can "let the cat outta the bag" LOL!  I will be on the 9pm news tonight (Thursday November 1st) for Melissa Wilson's "Healthworks" segment.  THEN, I will be in the studio LIVE in the morning (Friday November 2nd) somewhere between 7am and 8am--probably in the middle somewhere.  I look forward to meeting the morning crew-Jose???? I told Melissa Wilson I'm feeling a little "star struck" right now LOL!

Here's what we will be doing:  As some of my bloggin  friends know, I had lap band surgery 2yrs. ago. and the lap band is NOT a quick fix-it's a "tool" for weight loss.   I am 10lbs. away from my GOAL WEIGHT.  Most of you know that anytime you struggle with your weight-it's the most difficult to get the last 10lbs. off right?  Sooooooooo-in front of ALL of you-I stepped onto the scales in my home--with Matt (the very pleasant camera man-cute young man too!) pointing his camera on the scales-YIKES right??  I will be attempting to lose the last 10lbs. this month and will be blogging about it daily--like what I eat, exercise-stuff like that. 

I'm NOT an expert in this area by any means--but most of us aren't right?  We're just normal, everyday people who want to shed a few pounds.  I'll lay out my daily plan for you etc.  Right now, I have started walking again for 20mins. per day and counting calories.  I'll lay more out for you tomorrow LOL!

Now-when you see my "before" weight on TV tonight and what it is now-I am very, very excited about where the number is NOW-but I have to get that little extra off!!  And I'll be dieting through Thanksgiving!!  Hmmmmmmmmm-got any low cal dressing recipes out there???

I have never got a flu shot in the past--have you?  I have been told that sometimes you come down with flu like symptoms after the shot, which I know I don't want LOL!  I work in the medical field and I am the biggest "sissy" when it comes to getting injections!!  So tell me, have you ever got the flu like symptoms after a flu shot??  Is the flu shot "painful"???
