WHAT is a CHRISTIAN??? WHO??

I think this little poem just about sums it all up-don't you?  I especially like the last part--I've highlighted it.  Being a Christian doesn't mean you are above anyone else-or better than anyone else-or HOLIER than others!  Some people who profess to be Christians seem to have a "holier than thou" attitude, which isn't the way God intended it to be!!  It breaks my heart to see others act in that manner.  Please, take a moment to read this-it's awesome!!

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not shouting 'I'm clean living''
I'm whispering 'I was lost,
Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian'
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches,
so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian'
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Quiet reserved and heartfelt.I believe this and I imagine You probably mirror this poem.Thank You.Paul talked about being chief of sinners because He had persecuted the church,He talked of things being done in an orderly manner.If We as a people will humble ourselves,seek God's face and turn from our evil ways He will hear our voice and heal our land.

Thank you so much for those words of wisdom. I have forgotten what being a Christian really means! Sometimes I get on my soapbox in a feeble attempt to tell others what sinners they are and it's really me because I have forgotten how big a sinner I am. Thank you so much for the reminder.

Thanks everyone!! I spoke alot into my life-hope it does/did yawls too!!

WOW Red-glad this poem "snapped" you back LOL!! We ARE all sinners aren't we? None of us are perfect-BUT-we ARE made in HIS image though-WOW-that says alot!!

When I say .. "I am a Christian"

Do we go by the book and by the facts of our past history.

I don't think I am a proud Christian of yesterday.

With more understanding I may be tomorrow.

I work for a physician which NOW takes up most of my days-so sad LOL! I'm not into blogging about politics--Ken keeps up with that information for me LOL! I LOVE talking about family, household tips, makeup/hair tips, and GOD! Other than that, I may RESPOND to your blog, but haven't posted alot much lately!! I miss blogging all the time with my blogging friends and family. I LOVE getting emails from yawl though-keep 'em coming!! I think FOX26 has the best news "family" around-and yes to most of us they are just that "FAMILY"! Keep up the great work FOX-and can't wait to see more and more positive changes for the station (as long as nobody leaves-your bloggers will stay happy LOL!)
