So who's really seen it? I don't know what it is but I'm just not that into it and I just don't get it. Don't get me wrong. I was a big fan of the show back in the day...the good ole days when you knew you would watch that and then the Sopranos. It seemed like a good way to wind down from the week. Maybe I'm just getting old...but I was at the gym Saturday morning and saw all these women wearing their pink Sex In The City shirts. Those walking billboards...I hope they didn't pay for those shirts. I haven't been to the actual movie theatre in years. I'm a "wait for it on DVD so I can watch it in my bed" kinda girl. I imagine it will be months before I even see it.

So I finally saw No Country for Old Men this past weekend. Wow...couldn't keep my eyes off the screen! I was glad to see Javier win the Best Supporting Actor award and it just goes to show you that a little hair cut can truly change a person's appearance, character and overall aura. He looked pretty hot at the ceremony and yet incredibly creepy in the movie. For those who have seen it, what did you think about the ending?

Eat Less... Blog More
Okay so I have to admit that I've never been one to make good on my New Year's Resolutions but I'm trying. On this last day of the first month of the new year I'm going to try and be a little more consistent and blog more.
I've actually enjoyed my first Winter here. It wasn't even close to what I was expecting. I thought it would be much worse but I knew it would be fine after the first snow when I realized how many salt trucks are clearing the roads quickly and efficiently. As long as you can drive in this stuff, it's really not that bad. Yes, it's cold and to me whether it's 5 below or 35...it's still frigid (but only if you spend a lot of time outside). Barz told me he thought we had more snow this year than he can ever remember. What do you think? Have the Winters here gotten worse?

Okay I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of the movie experience. I can't even remember the last movie I saw. I would rather sit on my hiney at home and find something since everything is pretty much On Demand now. Have you seen a movie lately though that you know would not have been nearly as good at home as it was on the big screen?

Hi Everybody!
I really love Chicago. Thanks to those of you who have sent kind emails my way. Wow! In the few months I've been here I've really gotten a taste of Chicago. I really love the fact that I can walk to everything...no driving required. I can go eat sushi, go to the cleaners, the bank, the post office, and even take my little doggie Scrappy to the dog park. It's so refreshing to get out and walk and not have to worry about 100+ degrees and humidity. I know there's been some hot days but nothing like what you feel in South Texas near the Gulf. What are your favorite places in the city? I actually find myself going to JimmyJohn's and Wishbone at least once a week. Thanks a lot Mike!!

If you have any favorite Chicago hot spots that you think I should check out or if you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know.

It is with great joy and sadness for me to report that my last day anchoring the morning news at FOX26 will be this Friday June 8. I have accepted an incredible offer to anchor the morning news at the Fox station in Chicago. I am both excited and anxious to begin this new endeavor in my life and I want to thank each and every one of you who have made me feel like I was part of your family. It has been a blessing to be your ALARM CLOCK!
The past 2 1/2 years in Houston have been the most rewarding and challenging in my career so far. '05 and '06 were certainly banner years for news. I'll never forget sleeping on the newsroom floor and spending the night at the station all the days leading up to Hurricane Rita and then anchoring from the desk as she came ashore. A month later that year, ironically I traveled to Chicago to anchor from Cellular Field when the Astros played the Sox (never realizing that I would soon call the Windy City home).
Jose used to joke with me that Texans were very xenophobic but I always felt welcome from day one (thanks to my co-anchors Tom and Jose, all the morning crew and managers). I planted my own garden and didn't wait for someone to bring me flowers (as the saying goes) and I'm forever indebted to those who helped me plant seeds. I have been blessed beyond measure. Thank you for making us the fastest growing morning newscast and thank you for your prayers and warm wishes. I will miss you all.

Okay so many of us have a little (or big) commute to work/home. I always find myself switching from one radio station to another, almost incessantly. In fact, I never realized how quickly and how much I changed the station until someone was in my car and brought it to my attention. Which station do you listen to or do you have a bunch of cds that you filter through?

I know it's not until next Sunday but I won't be here next week so I wanted to wish you all a very Happy Easter. I remember as a kid going to sunrise service, eating brunch at my Grandma's house, and then the big easter egg hunt with my brother and cousins where everyone wanted to find the gold egg because it had a $20 bill inside. Oh the good ole days! On my vaca, I plan to play a little golf, eat a lot, laugh a lot, but most importantly sleep a lot (woohoo I don't have to get up at 2 a.m. and go to bed at 6 p.m.). YIPPEE!! Have a good one!

Apparently love has everything to do with the crazy things we do for a loved one. Lisa Nowak was just given the pink slip from NASA. This comes one month after she was charged with trying to kidnap a woman she allegedly thought was involved with a another space shuttle pilot. So, we've heard the story perhaps the next question is why? Most of us have been in love so we've all felt the emotions of attachment, jealously and aggression. But what lengths would you take for love and is there a biochemical reaction attached to those emotions. Is jealousy and revenge a lethal combination and are there certain types of people more susceptible? Today we will have a doctor on to break it down for us. Perhaps you would not drive to Florida in a diaper (allegedly). Dr. G will be in our 7 hour and if you have questions, he'll start a blog as well so you can ask him questions.

First, let me start by saying thank you and hello to all of you who came to the Predator Check day at Almeda Mall. Also, I can't believe how many people told me they watched our adoring Ruben and his American Idol report Friday---you know, the one where he totally took me by surprise and "got me good". Ruben, whom I affectionately call "your highness", has given me and my executive producer more work now. People seriously want to see what the "payback" is going to be... well you'll get to see it this week! But you'll have to watch everyday. Love ya Rubio...
