Cookie realizes ALL people are different--& generally, entertainment is focused to certain groups, with all having some form of inclusion.

(This will not enamor me to the majority of bloggers, but I always say what I think--in hopes changes can be made--)

I was "very impressed" with this "blogging idea" by Fox--

when it came out, & thought it had tremendous potential--

It gave Fox a chance to "feel the heartbeat" of Americans, interrelate with them, & let bloggers vent their frustrations, voice their opinion, & HOPEFULLY provide a forum where "ideas could be retrieved"!

Having served on many boards, panels, (especially in the era of "the team concept") where even the stupid, inexperienced could sometimes provide a solution to a problem, I felt it could be positive!

Recently, the forum has been taken over by:

Asinine "young people", who (barely qualify for a fast food job, yet) find time to "BLOG CONSISTANTLY, endearing others to join their kindergarten group--??

ONE would think--that since they are on the BOTTOM rung of the "success ladder"--they would TRY & find something to make hem MORE productive--& enhance their LIFESTYLE!!

Bloggers who take up "PAGES" for pictures of their DOGS, cats, racial groups, parties, etc. --?

You SHOULDN'T need but "ONE" picture!!!!

(They also "ïnnocently" get THEIR faces, cars, homes, kids, included--like ANYONE cares what you have!)

The preachers--?

the wanna-be-somebodies--?

the gripers, the people who want to "SOLICIT BUSINESS", those who want to try & impress us with their writing abilities, & can't even construct a sentence--?

The people who want to promote "medical knowedge study" for "some degenerative disease their child has"---?

The people who want to show their "grandchildren" off-- ?

WHEN--there are SO MANY "NEEDS" AFFECTING OUR SOCIETY!!!

Ms. Watkins does a "spectacular job" interviewing bloggers, but HER choice of subjects--is getting "REALLY sickening!

I mean--to interview someone on TV--who JUST WANTS "AIR TIME" -- & works at some menial job, has a double digit IQ--just so they can say "HI MOM!"--c'mon!

Athough I think he is awesomely "NAIVE", the BEST blogger on this forum is CHASSEN-- He provides a variety of topics that would interest everyone--researches them & provides SOME form of enlightenment-- His MAIN problem--is He writes TOO many!!

There are others like MIK1 (gone?), Sassy11, jprjpvrt, My tech guy, Justice, Lanny, Ford, Dart, & a few more of the STAFF--

NOTHING--as frustrating--as trying to find a interesting blog--& have to "sift through pages"--- of pictures of "somebody''s DOG"--?

Oh well, I will try & find something else to occupy MOST of my time--

& you GOT to LOVE the "W.C. FIELDS NOSE PIC"----??

Houstonsceptic,
I'm thinking that you need to get out into the fresh sunshine away from the blogging keys. Seriously, maybe take a hiatus or break from the keyboard. Sometimes we just need to get away from the heavy duty thinking. You know that you can get a bit opionionated. I know you do think a lot. I've read your blog posts and responses. Just reading through your post, it sounds like you are under a lot of stress. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Then there are people like you who feel its their need to post things like this. Practice what you preach. Don't like what you see here, go somewhere else.

I don't think you need to go somewhere else. I don't think you need to change the way you blog to suit other folks.

In my line of business, I've found that folks that are opinionated, brash and unwavering in their beliefs have the most to learn. I'm glad you're here.

After reading your bio, however, I grinned to myself. I can't help but wonder if the reason why you've lived in so many different societies is that you were run out of town by the natives.

I often wonder why people (myself included) blog at all. I get on myspace from time to time to share photos. (I think I have maybe 5 "friends" on there - woop woop!) I'm amazed at the apparent need some have to live their private lives in public on there. Houstonsceptic, blogs are like the television; if you don't like the broadcasting, change the channel. I think there's more to your post though. I noticed you deleted a previous one (about your cousin) and I've wondered if your feelings were hurt by the comments you received [insert apology]. Your many posts lately pondering if child molestation is a forgiveable mistake, even if only for the sake of conversation and debate, isn't going to endear you to a lot of people sweetie. We all get frustrated when our opinions aren't with the popular majority and when our questions are ignored.

I understand some of what sceptic is saying. Who has so much time to blog? I log on once in the morning and then I am busy working at my job the rest of the day. Then it is home to dinner, laundry, meetings.... Maybe I am jealous that I don't have all that spare time it seems most of our bloggers have. I have come across some great blogs...then there are the others, like sceptic mentioned. The great blogs ARE getting fewer and far between. If some of you want to "chit chat"...do it somewhere else.
Although, I have to admit "wonderful", I can't change the channel..

Cookie!! So sorry you feel this way. I think I responded to another blog you wrote on this topic? In defense of the many dog and cat pics I have, guess you could say they are like my children and I love showing them off-like a momma with a "Brag Book".

When I first started blogging, I thought it was just for posting NEWS stories? Maybe it was then, but I have to agree that I have changed my way of blogging as well as others. BUT, I have been enlightened by many of the blogs too and have had my "horizons" broadened.

Please don't leave the bloggin community!! There are many of us that enjoy reading what you have to say!!

Sassy--Thank you! You are sweet!

Robin--Yep, but JUST as 3 people on here made the suggestion that "IF"--I want to blog--I need to "change my style/site/??"--?????
See, THAT is WHY criticism is effective--
EVEN if you don't like it--throw a fit--you LEARN something!

star4char--(still trying to figure out ID--?)
Thank you for a "intelligent response".
Being the adventurous type--I have stuck my nose in every door--
I have lived/worked/coached/prayed--in the same basic community for 50 years--
I have had detractors, but NEVER to my face-!!
Most were just jealous that I could accomplish what they could not--or that God helped me be successful--??

Your response is a "tribute to bloggers"
You carefully worded your comments, "as to give comfort, but also to advise"--
Were your ID on the list--hmmm--???

Cookie,

The blogging opportunity presented by Fox 26 is a great forum for sharing ideas and interacting with each other on a plethora of topics and interests...........as our blog community grows, and it is, we have to be tolerant of allowing people to communicate in the way that they want as long as it is in a socially acceptable manner.

We hope you'll stick around and sift through and find topics and bloggers that are still of interest to you.

As always, thanks for your candid and frank opinions, and your participation in the forum.

America... Where we ALL have the right to free speach and if you do not like what someone has said or in this case has written, do not look!! I do not have some menial job, I am very well educated!! I now take care of my mother whom 11 years ago was diagnosed with Munltiple Sclerosis!! So maybe I do have more time than others to blog, but honestly everything that I write is to insure that in 10 yrs, my breed of choice(pit bull) will still be around!! I know that everyone is intitled to their own opinion and you may not like what someone has to say, but have you stopped to think that what may not be of importance to you, just might mean the world to someone else!! Spend less time criticizing other people for what they write because that just opens you up to be criticized!! A LOT of people have an issue or two about my blogs, I write about what some people call a "touchy" subject, but when I write a blog here or anywhere else, I expect some people to disagree!! My point being, if they want to post pictures of their dogs (which I find most of them to be totally cute) and children etc, well then let them!!
I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.
God Bless and Have a great weekend!!

Hello Houstonsceptic. Ditto Sassy11, right down to the prayers part, in fact I've already said a few prayers for you this week. I think it's really cool that you are not afraid to say what's on your mind, in fact I think it's a crucial element in this environment. Likewise, I believe that you could possess the ability to open up people's minds on issues they may have been closed to before because you have extraordinary insight. Do keep in mind, however, that people are more receptive of ideas, opinions, criticism, insights, etc. when it isn't a painful experience. Remember that we're all human, and it takes all kinds of people to keep things interesting, and that we all have a right to be here.
Wait a minute.... is this Cookie?....or Oscar?(The Grouch)....heehee
Well over here the sun just came out and it's not even really that hot or humid (comparatively)so I think I will take 5 for a fresh air break.

The cookie monster-- is a person in the twilight of my career, who believes in speaking the truth, as I see it, regardless of the consequences. It is not the "best thing sometimes" to do, but only in addressing problems, can we change them! I have lived in multiple societies, played every game, and been a success in almost every venture I have entered. I've endured many trials, which gives me a unique ability to have an intelligent opinion on diverse subjects. I am cautious of schemes developed by others. I am not perfect, or judgemental. I do NOT want to appear to be a "Know-it all" I am a devout Christian who early in life developed a "path with God", have stayed on the same path and devotion throughout my life. I don't blog for popularity. I blog in hopes "I" can learn something--in hopes I can help someone else--& address the serious side of life.
