It was a controversial call -- but it may have been effective.  In the days before the March 4th Elections,  a  popular conservative talk show host was running a campaign of his own.   He was urging conservative voters to cross party lines and vote for Clinton-- a strategy to keep McCain from having to face off with Obama in November.

What's your take on that talk jock's crusade?

*Should voters vote for a candidate they don't like as a strategy to keep their own candidate from losing against another who might defeat him down the road?

*How much of the Hillary vote, on March 4th,  was from McCain backers, hoping to avoid an Obama-McCain contest in November?

It's an interesting debate. -- Wanna weigh in?

Carolyn
I heard weeks earlier on Sean Hannity talk show that they felt they could beat Obama and did not want Lady macbeth in the race at all.
They told Houston reps to vote for Obama in the early voting so Hillary would lose and drop out. Well, after Obama begin to gain more and more followers and looking like a rock star, renting space in the Toyota, George Brown, they got "scared" and told them not to vote anymore for Obama, one lady called in and said that she was afraid to play that kind of game and let the dems especially Obama and she would vomit everyday for the next 4 years...

The Reps should not have been playing strategy games in the Dems election process. That is not right. I hope the dems beat Mccain with either one, that will fix them to never play that kind of game again!

People have the right to vote, there's no stipulation that they have to vote for the person they actually support. How they vote is no one's business, and even though I voted for Obama, I really don't have a problem with people voting the way they choose.

Besides, how can you blame them for having a good political strategy?? And when have you heard of a nice, friendly, honest political strategy??

Hey, alls fair in love and war. Politics, I think, definitely falls under the war category.

It's good strategy, hope it doesn't come back to bite them in the fanny. I heard on 740 this morning that if the election was held today, John Mc Cain would come in third. Doesn't bode well, does it, for him?

Same tactics were used in the Republican side of things. Remember that MCCain knew he was losing a state to Romney so he threw all his delegates to Huckabee. Else I think we would be in the same situation on the republican side too right now. This is not a way to do things. Yes a vote is a vote for whoever you want but it should not be to block people. Like a bunch of crabs in a bucket. No one can rise to the top without being pulled back down. That is what I feel McCain did to Obama.
