Anyone who has ever driven in Houston Rush Hour knoiws how much fun it can be! I am sure this is not new, but lately I have been noticing something that really has me on a campaign to educated (or at least irritate). These people who feal the need to exit and re enter the highway (I drive 288 to 610 and this is a daily occurance between the Beltway and 610) in the effort to gain an extrra space or two.
Anyone who has driven any time realizes that HOV lanes work because there is limited entry spots. Look at NASCAR, 43 cars going near 200 mph and the major wrecks are when someone "cuts in". And truckers will drive side by side in zones where a lane is about to end so that there is not a slowdown to merge at lanes end.
And yet here are all these drivers doing it daily in Houston. And not just cars either. Trucks are doing it too. There are no feeder roads on the streach of 288 I drive so a driver will get off at say Airport. make a brief stoip at the stop sign and then re enter the highway, causing everyone to slow down to let him/her in just to gain a spot or two.
And they don't just do it once, I have watch drivers do it at 2 and 3 exits in a row.
I say that whenever possible, us drivers just trying to get to work, should report those truckers we can get company name for to their companies. It would be nice to be able to do it to everyone but... What they are doing is disrespectable and truely slows down everyone. Maybe the call does not change things (yes I have and will continue to call), but it might make you feel better.

Soon to be 51 year old RN who works for BCBS of TX as a Health Care Advisor. I wake up every M-F morning to Fox News and hate watching the other channels on the week ends, as "my guys" aren't there. I was born and raised in St Louis, MO and moved here from SE MO after I met the love of my life on mySpace (a Fox product). I hate Houston traffic but I love the town and the people.
