I'm getting really tired of a certain argument I hear from many men;  "It's natural for a man to cheat, it's animal instinct, therefor it's acceptable".  The animal instinct argument is the first flaw to this excuse, we are human beings with the ability to think critically, and interpret emotion.  We are not dogs, though I worry about many of you.  Cheating, the word in general, is this arguments second flaw.  We are the only 'animals'  that engage in the institution of marriage.  A single man that wants to engage in sex with multiple partners is just fine with me, I could care less.  My problem arises when a someone decides to enter a relationship, marriage or not, and then uses this excuse to explain away their lack of character and self control.  I f you want to lead a promiscuous lifestyle, fine, don't get married or enter into a monogamous relationship, if you have no intention of respecting the rules this kind of relationship implies.  Another problem I have with this is that the women involved in these doomed relationships are expected to understand and respect this argument as valid, your feelings aren't suppossed to get hurt, your not supposed be angry.  My rebuttle; its natural to be angry upon the discovery of betrayal.  Next time you stub your toe have someone tell you "this is natural, it's not suppossed to hurt"  the pain will disapear, right?  Don't think so.  I am in no way saying that men are the only cheaters out there, but they at least do not use an excuse as shallow as this one.  Let me know your thoughts guys...

The majority of the American public are fat, unhealthy slobs.  Our eating and exercise habits have not only made us fat and lazy, but dim-witted.  I can't fathom making a diet of what I see in most carts at the grocery store.  We're all guilty of a slip or two every once in a while when it comes to a tasty snack, but somehow these unhealthy 'snacks' have turned into everyday meals for most families.  Then we have the nerve to call obesity a legitimate disease!  Most, not all, but most Americans suffering from obesity have brought it upon themselves, this is comparable to blaming McDonald's for spilling hot coffee on yourself.   The lack of vitamins, trace elements and fiber, among other things, and the excess of preservatives, trans fat, and salt in the foods Americans choose to nourish (if you can call it that) their families with is killing us, slowly but surely.  Also, our dependence on red meat is not only destroying your colon, but making cardiologists rich.   Some people complain about the money big pharmaceutical companies are draining from our wallets, easy solution:  don't abuse your body to the point that we need their product.  Have high cholesterol?  Stop eating fried food and red meat!  Have a weight problem?  Don't have bariatric surgery, stop eating burger king and get off your lazy a$$ for 20 min. a day and exercise.

Why are our children riddled with disease at younger ages?  Why are our 9 year old girls growing breasts and starting their periods?  Hormones  added to feed for livestock to increase milk production, antibiotics added to chicken feed to increase production, and decrease loss.  My family has been switched to all organic dairy, meat and produce for about 18 months now.  No, processed food in my house, all whole grains (pasta, bread etc..)  and red meat is only allowed once a week.  This was the hardest transition for my carnivore of a husband.  We have active play for 1 hr, every day, sometimes inside because, you guys know, we live on the surface of the sun.  Laser tag is my fave.  We have the right to protect our health and the health of our children, it kills me to see 100lb five year olds, this is unacceptable, the saddest part is that it's not their fault, this is how they've been raised, and these are the lessons of healthy living they will pass on to their children.  I'm not an earth first hippie to any extent, although I kinda was in high school and college with more of a realist approach.  I  just stopped believing that big business has my best interests at heart.  We have abandoned our healthy eating habits in favor of conveinience.

My little angel is officially reading, I have never been so proud.  I have been edging her on with short lessons, mostly just organized play, but never pushed her to do anything she didn't want to, in fear of her developing a dislike for the subject.  She read to me last night before bed, I had to help a little, just a little.  So, all of my efforts havn't been in vein,  what a great feeling.  SOOOO PROUD!!  With a ton of help from various homeschooling websites and a whole lot of patience we did it.  My cup runneth over

Was at a local shopping center the other day with my two angels, and a friend of my oldest's, both 4, and noticed a fellow mother doing her best to maintain sanity while grocery shopping with her children, those of you who are mothers know what I mean.  Anyway, this woman in question had 4 children ranging in age from about 3 - 12 yrs old.  The older two, about 10 and 12, were drinking out of sippy cups, wha???  The middle one, about 5 had a bottle and a pacifier??  Really, is this what we've come to??  I could not believe what I was seeing, this woman was obviously too afraid of a little screaming and retaliation from her own kids to put her foot down.  I'm a pretty firm believer in being a parent and not a friend to my girls, my oldest lost the bottle at around 18 months and the pacifier was gone by 8 months.  Why do American mothers allow their children to walk all over them like this??

As well as an informative source of opinions from my fellow Houstonians, I also use this blog for a little frustration relaease.  I have noticed ,lately, that many have taken my opinions to offense although that was not my intent.  I get a little fired up about cerian topics and tend to sound insulting, sorry to those of you that I have offended.  Also, I have been accussed of having an alter ego by the name of Eddie, this is untrue.  I have read some posted blogs and responses by this person that some are calling a hate monger, he has threatened a few fellow bloggers which to me shows only a lack of self control and a limited intellect.  Dissagreeing does not egual dislike, in my book..  A good debate with a person, who can express their veiws in an intelligent manner, is enjoyable and is why I continue to blog on this site.  Threatening another persons saftey simply because you dissagree with their point of veiw is unacceptable and has NEVER been done by me!!  Please don't lump me into the same catagory with this guy because I don't share your political veiws, its insulting.

What ever happened to raising our little girls like ladies?  People have taken the movement of feminism to extreme lengths,  now our little girls are dressing like sluts at the age of 13 and fighting like boys in the schoolyard, this is unacceptable!!  Being a lady does NOT mean one has to stay at home, have a dozen kids, and never dream of speaking her mind.   A strong, successful woman is even stronger when she retains the ability to act like a lady.  We are turning our babies into an overly aggressive herd of little hookers.

Quit reporting these garbage pit bull stories, Im sure they arent the sweetest most trustworthy, or predictible breed of dog but surely none of you think any animal is predictible or completely trustworthy, if you do, you're sadly misinformed about how to treat animals.  The pit bull or the now infamous "pit bull mix" is just as potentially dangerous as any other breed in that size range.
