Greetings all.

Guess everyone who knows me, I just got back from Israel. My wounds are farely healed and Chancey is doing well. We are all back in Aspen Colorado chilling for the Holidays. As I said before Chancey's surgery went well. She is almost completly healed. After the first day she was treated to 10 pounds of her favorite treat.

Raw Hamburger meat.

Forget Whataburger huh?

Those camera men won't, I bet.

Anyway, just wanted to show everyone what I found sitting in the back yard when I got home.

Trish had it made for me while I was away.

It is part of my Christmas.

Don't ask me what she paid for it, it about floored me.......Seriously......

Sweet aint it? Trish told me it was only proper a Sabertooth

should ride a Sabertooth.....LOL......

But anyway, Merry Chritsmas!!!

Greetings, I thought I would tell everyone a little about myself, so you that are on my friends list or future friends can know a little bit more about me.

I am Michael T. Denham.

I have a Wife Trisha, we have been married for ten years.

We have a house in Aspen Colorado, Sweet Water Texas and a Condo in NYC. We have a very fat orange cat named Rygel, The Farscape cat.

And Chancey, our pet Cheetah. Chancey is a King Cheetah. She is four years old going on five this October. We raised her from a tiny cub and she is now the American Ambassador for the CCF. (Cheetah Conservation Fund) Which originated in Nambia Africa by a Dr. Laurie Marker.

Chancey is number 4 of living King Cheetahs in the US. And 28 world wide.

I am the former Protoge of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson.

We were friends for many years up until his untimely Death in 2005.

I have written/freelanced for The Boston Globe, The New York Times,

Life Magazine, Cat Fancy, Writers Digest, Popular Photography, Black + White (Australia) Magazine, Playboy, and Look Magazine to name a few.

I hold a Bachelors Degree in Journalism/Photography. And an Associates Degree in Archeaology.

I served 3 tours in Vietnam, The First Cavalry Division-Air Assault.

Then later joined The Green Berets for my last tour of duty.

I am 5 of 8 children. My parents Ann and Harold were survivors of the Natzi concentration camps. My dad was a former Luftwaffe Pilot until it was discovered that he was Jewish. My Mom was a Jewish Socialite till Hitler came to power. They met at the camp and were able to escape in the laundry truck which came by for the officers uniforms every week. The driver was a Jewish sympathiser and helped get them to friendly territory where they met up the American forces and were able to immigrate to the US. Newport News Va.

Later Dad joined the American Navy and became an ace fighter pilot as he once was for the German Luftwaffe. He gave 20 years to the Navy, was one of the first Navy Hurricane Hunters and was the Senior Astronaut trainer for Nasa.

Mom of course put herself into raising kids and getting back to her former life as a socialite.

I also have sat in/ played Sitar for such bands as Bubble Puppy, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Moby Grape, and Quick Silver Messanger Service. I, at the time was one of the few who were good with the Sitar. I played at both the Whiskey a-go-go and Capital Records Studio.

I am fluent in German, Hebrew, French, Gaelic (Irish) Gaelic (Scotish),

English or course, Vietnamese and Aramaic.

I have 2 books published "Banditos" 71. "Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk. 78.

I do have a new book coming out, it is my first Fantasy novel. "Danz, Life Thru the eyes of a SaberTooth Tiger" Release date Dec. 2008.

Books I am currently seeking to get published, From Tears to Joy. The Autobiography on my Parents Life.

Chancey, The Life and Struggles of a domesticated Cheetah.

Release date April 2009. Gonzo will be publishing this one.

Plus I plan to have Gonzo also release a book I have had in my closet since 1976. I call it "The Marijuana-Opium Diaries"

Which in short goes more into detail about my day to day life in the commune,

the peace protests in the early 70's up in NYC. My meeting of John and Yoko Ono as well as Angela Davis formerly of the Black Panthers. My arrests for Civil Rights Demonstrations and Anti-Vietnam activities. My ties with The Chicago 7. Being banished from the WhiteHouse Press Corespondance by the Nixon Administration. And my Three year tour of Vietnam. This book also includes my Life as a musician in San Fransisco.

Oh yes, Have to add this. I mock/tease my gay friends alot with this one.

I am openly Jewish.LOL..........

This book is more detailed than my second book, Walk/Talk.

I have also had the honor of being portrayed in the Movie "Where the Buffaloes Roam". I and Hunter have been friends since 1968 and he was a true friend and healer for me after I returned from Vietnam whacked out of my mind.

I have 2 purple hearts, a Bronze and Silver Star, and a Congressional Medal of Honor. Not bad for a man labeled by the Nixon Administration as a Hostile, a Yippie Radical and a Communist.

I am currently the Senior Editor of the Gonzo Journal NYC.

I am currently working on a screenplay which Disney/Pixar has shown interest in. "The Fabuous Cheetah Brothers"

My Muse's for Kai and Tag.( The Fab. Cheetah Brothers)

The Synopsis on that is in my blog section.

Anyway, I am glad to have so many nice friends on myspace, as well as my foxblogger

pages.

Movies and Reality.

I came across a photo that I wanted to share.

It give a real picture of the way things were

10,000 Years ago.

They were able to bring them down,

But you can see it would have taken a large pack to do so.

But I guess in the Ice Age movies,

what they had was good enough for

a story line.

Shalom my fox blogger friends.

I have something I wanted to share with everyone. This is a very rare wooden airplane prop. My dad left it to me and I restored it somewhat. But it is off of a 1918 Curtis Kirkham 18T Wasp.

It was in production for only one year.

1918-1919. Unfortunatly my dad never did give me any history on it. Or how he got it. This was hung in our living room for years. But it was he that gave me my love of aircrafts and flying.

I too am a pilot and have his Twin engine Bonanza as well. But I thought I would share this with the other aviation buffs out there.

GET WIERD,STAY WILD......

This is my first video review.

I came across this video thru a

friend. And I must admit this is

a really good and interesting film.

It is an older movie 1996, but well worth watching.

The thing that interested me at first was it is a dramatisation of the documentary that I caught awile back on the history channel.

The script was taken from the actual Journals of Chief Engineer, Lt Col. John Henry

Patterson. 1898. He is also the one responsible for bringing them down.

I don't want to spoil it too much, but I must say I give this movie 4 stars. The lions themselves were quite bizzarre. They were two males, no hairy mane as most males have. They had no pride. And the most unusual is that the two males hung out and hunted together. and obviously had no fear of man.

This is rated R for the gore and violence.

It has alot of suspense and action.

It is also very accurate per the journal as well.

But over all an excellent film.

I would recomend this film to anyone.

Now I do have some photos to share with everyone of the real lions.

They are kept in the Chicago Illinoies Field Museum

The story it's self is amazing and Bizarre at the same time.

And there is still no explanation for it...

Danz is out!! The special editions that is.

Unfortunatley the regular has been pushed back to October....All these delays are driving me crazy.

The special editions have been shipped to the Aspen House. Though I won't be back in the states till late September of this year. I am curently in The Golan Hieghts visiting relatives.

But to those who wanted a special edition I will ship them out as soon as I am able. Let me know if you wish them to be signed or not....

Anyway, an update on Chancey. Thier appearance in Houston has been postponed till September. Trish has fallen ill with a really bad case of Nuemonia...But it will be on a Saturday, and at the Woodland Pavillion.

We do hope everyone will come out for it. I of course wont be able to make it. But none the less I hope everyone will come out. We also will be showing some home movies of Chancey as well.

Anyway, I wish everyone of my Fox Blogger friends the best. And hope to see alot of you during my book signing. Which will be in October. It will be the same place Barns and Noble by the Galleria and the Starbucks on post oaks. That is if they dont close it first...LOL....

I have stopped blogging about Chancey.....Because.......

I never seem to get much response from them. So this is what I am asking.

I am hoping everyone can be honest with me. This is of course going out to seven different foxblogger community. Though I must admit the Aspen group seems to enjoy them more than most, but then again you guys and gals know Chancey. Anyway, Dont worry about my feelings, I can handle rejection if it comes. I got fifty rejection letters on Danz. So I can handle it....

So let me know what everyone thinks.

But if everyone finds them boring or unenteresting, I will of course speak of her no more.....

Just thought I would share with everyone the new Logo for Gonzo.

Now this is a photo of the brown river rat patrol They were the only Navy boys

with us. These boats are refered to as PBR'S, They had two models the Mark I

and the Mark II. The one hanging I think is a Mark II.

Anyway, there you have it.

Here is some cool facts I found about Saber Tooth tigers everyone might find interesting......

The "sabre-toothed tiger," Smilodon, is the California State Fossil and the second most common fossil mammal found in the La Brea tar pits. The name "sabre-toothed tiger" is misleading, for these animals are not closely related to tigers. Juveniles to adults are represented in the large Berkeley collections. The first Chairman of the University of California Department of Paleontology, Professor John C. Merriam, and his student Chester Stock, monographed the morphology of this great carnivore in 1932. Since then, hundreds of thousands of Smilodon bones have been found at La Brea, permitting remarkably detailed reconstructions of how Smilodon lived. For example, Smilodon was about a foot shorter than living lions but was nearly twice as heavy, and unlike cheetahs and lions -- which have long tails that help provide balance when the animals run -- Smilodon had a bobtail. These suggest that Smilodon did not chase down prey animals over long distances, as lions, leopards, and cheetahs do. Instead, it probably charged from ambush, waiting for its prey to come close before attacking. 

Smilodon was a relatively recent sabretooth, from the Late Pleistocene; it finally went extinct about 10,000 years ago. Fossils have been found all over North America and Europe. Smilodon fossils from the La Brea tar pits include bones that show evidence of serious crushing or fracture injuries, or crippling arthritis and other degenerative diseases, that would have been debilitating for the wounded animals. Yet many of these bones show extensive healing and regrowth, indicating that even crippled animals survived for some time after their injuries. How did they survive? It seems most likely that they were cared for, or at least allowed to feed, by other sabre-toothed cats -- solitary hunters with crippling injuries would not be expected to live long enough for the bones to heal. Smilodon appears to have lived in packs and had a social structure, like modern lions but unlike tigers and all other living cats, which are solitary hunters. Occasional finds of sabretooth-sized holes in Smilodon bones suggest that the social life of Smilodon was not always peaceful; the cats may have fought over food or mates, as lions do today. Such fights were probably accompanied by loud roaring -- from the structure of the hyoid bones in the throat of Smilodon, we know it could roar. 

Although the evolutionary occurrence of saber-teeth is an interesting phenomenon, it is not entirely unique to Smilodon. During the last 60 million years or so, at least four different orders of mammals developed saber-teeth independently of each other on three separate continents. In spite of their different lineages they share some common characteristics. Most were built for ambushing rather than chasing down their prey. To accommodate their large teeth, most saber-toothed animals could open their mouths in a gape of 90-degrees or more. This is impressive compared to the 70-degree gape of modern cats.

The ambush-style of hunting, enlarged canines, and wider gape suggests that Smilodon hunted large prey animals with thick hides. Since the saber-teeth of Smilodon would have shattered upon impact with bone, the canines were probably used to pierce the throat or soft underbelly of its prey. Possible prey animals for the Smilodon include Mammoths, Mastodons, American versions of the Camel and Horse, Bison, and Giant Ground sloths. Smilodon probably became extinct when the large animals it hunted died out.

The new season opens up with Starbucks return from oblivion.

Now she seems to be mad, and or driven about the direction they are going. Everyone thinks she is a cylon. Col. Tye is a cylon........

go figure........the poster child of cylon hatred.

And speaking of cylons, 6 apears to have gone power mad. Though I dont know why she had all her cylon companions wasted. All they need to do is redownload into a new body and it all begins again.

oh yes, cant forget about Doc Baltar who seems to be a guru now. kind of hairi Chishna style. with photo in the middle of flowers and blinking lights....

Though with the President sharing the same dream with 6, I would guess she might be the fifth cylon.

though it would be a shocker if it were on of the Adoma's. That would be a wierd twist....

If you like battlestar, what are your opinions on the last season so far.

As far as I think, it is getting crazy, and I am willing to bet its gonna get crazier....Hah! my kind of show.

Greetings foxbloggers, Houston, Colorado,NYC,Dallas FTW,Chicago,

Florida,California and San Antonio.

We have some good news for those of you who wish to keep up with Chancey and her home birth project. With assistance from AP we are having A web page started just for those who wish to experience the live birth of her cubs and thier growing up and the eventual shipment over to Nambia Africa. The web cams will be installed at the Aspen home as well as the sweetwater home. We have decided to let Chancey give birth at the sweetwater home instead of the aspen home. The weather conditions will be more like Africa in Texas than that of Aspen. And since these cubs will be on the release to the wild program they need to be as close to thier native environment as possible.

Now when it is set up the webpage will be as follows. www.chanceycam.com

There will be no charge to use this, and it will have alot of special features. It will be on 24-7. It will be tied into a labtop and yes you can send us email and messages thru your computer. and those with voice can also contact us. Now suppose you do miss the live birth, not to worry. Everything will be saved and you can always go back on the webpage and watch it. It will be listed under birth. Now this will happen in Sept of this year. Which is past the mating season, but we have no choice in the matter. We are taking Chancey to San Diego to have her artificial ensiminated. I know her mate King George wont like that, but with the time period and the reversal operation in August, what can you do?

This is going to be a big event and I would encourage everyone to stop by everyonce in a while and check them out. Thier will be live feeds from thier birth to thier final destination in Nambia Africa. Then the CCF Cams will take over. Which can later be accessed thru www.cheetah.org

Chanceys cubs will have chips and collars attached to them when they are finally released to the wild. So they can be tracked thru ground and satellite systems.

Now when she does come to houston I would hope everyone will come out and see our little presentation. Trish and I will be there as well as AP. The presentation will last about an hour.

Then everyone who wants to can come up and personally meet Chancey. She is very friendly so no one needs to worry about her behavior. She has done better than expected at all her showings, Even Ol Doc Marker is impressed.....

So dont forget to bring your cameras.

there will be alot of time after the show to take photos with her.

Hope to see everyone there...Dates and places will be announced soon.

We are also hoping to bring her to the woodlands Pavillion. We are also going to advertise in the Chronicle entertainment section as well.

Oh yes, we also wish to thank all of our friends in Aspen for the toy gifts for Chancey. Though we never asked for any, we like always apreciate all the things our friends in the Aspen community have done for us, whether supporting our court battle to get Chancey released from San Diego zoo two years ago, and or the toys everyone has sent her. She really loves her soccerballs and squeek toys.

And those giant rawhide bones we recieved from S.Bullock. Thanks again....

We even saved one of the posters that was made up for her support. Which we proudly display in our living room.Thanks again Aspen Col.

Anyway, like I said before hope everyone will check out her cam from time to time.

We do look forward to meeting everyone at her upcoming showing in July...
