DOES IT CURE CANCER OR NOT?

Houston-based Ageless Cures sells Curcumin, a product that the company's Web site claims kills cancer. More specifically, the Web site states, "Curcumin also causes cancer cell apoptosis (programmed cell death)."

The Federal Drug Administration sent the company a May 20th letter, stating that "Your products are not generally recognized as safe and effective...," including the claim that Curcumin kills cancer cells.

FDA letter

Even though the company's Web site claims Curcumin can kill cancer cells, the company also says,"Statements made, or Curcumin sold through this web site, have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any diseases.

What?  The Houston company says Curcumin kills cancer cells, but then says the product is not intended to treat a disease. I don't get it. Do you?

There are so many layers to this. First, you have to be careful about products you take and the claims they make and do your own research. Second, I wish the FDA would actually take its own advice with regards to approving new drugs before they kill people with their drug/vaccine approvals. Also I'm reminded of Dr. Brudzinski in Houston who 20 years ago had developed a treatment for cancer that involved urine. I actually interviewed for a medical transcription position with him and I was warned by his staff that he was doing experimental therapy and I decided I wanted to work with a doctor/clinic that I didn't have to worry would be able to pay me. He was threatened, I believe had issues of mail fraud because these treatments would be sent via the mail, but he's recently been in the news in the last several years that he may be on to something. I think people just need to be informed.

I suppose because this product is technically not a drug but a supplement, it falls into the same category of the myriad of weight-loss supplements advertised that state the same thing.

PBMom,
Really good advice from you. Since urine is not widely used these days as a so-called cure for cancer, I suppose the doctor's urine approach didn't fly.

Kagua,
I agree with the feds that no company should make a claim that its product can kill cancer cells, unless it has scientic proof that it does that for humans. Thus far, there is no solid scentific proof that it does.

In 1995, 72 yr. Dr.Hulda Regehr Clark an Independent Research Scientist noticed a parasite (fluke) called Fasciolopsis buski was present in cancer patients and devised a way to kill that and other parasites.
She wrote many books and opened a clinic in San Diego, California to treat cancer patients.

Many patients found drugs were not working and made claim to be cured or if not had less pain and may be on the way to being cured by her.
Special Diet and a gadget which measures the harmony of parasites are zapped with a hand held zapper.

The big drug companies feared she found a cure and bribed the FDA and Govnt. to charge her with operating a clinic without a license.
She was arrested, shackled and put in jail for a week before flown on a prison plane to face a Judge who eventually threw it out of court.
Her research is again in the news with an English Scientist (that's in the U.K.).
This Scientist has improved on the zapper and claims what Dr.Clark claimed in the 1990's.
p.s. The USPS returned a letter not knowing where England was on the map. It must have U.K. on the address (believe it or not).
Not everything works for everyone but I use one of her zappers to kill cold virus parasites which cures a cold in one day.

Cont.
One of Dr.Clark's books is titled "How to cure cancer in 5 days" This is ment to arrest the tumors and then the cure is thereafter.
Again, one has to have faith like everything and follow her vast experience.
The drug companies finally got her banned from practice in the U.S. although it was under the alternative medicine and not drugs.

FYInfo,

That's a really interesting account. I'll have to look her book up this weekend.

Chassan, you always seem to come up with the most stimulating subects; please keep up the good work.
I've been accompanying my wife to MD Anderson for more than 17 years. She had cancer twice, but she's always been in good hands at Anderson (wonderful people). One would never know it by looking at her, she is presently cancer free.
My point is that the sites for products that claim to cure cancer (there are many) can present a lot of false hope for people that are very ill.
I've always had a lot of respect for herbal practioners, but there are many snake oil salesmen amongst them.
I hope that the curcumin works; there are certainly enough people who could benefit from it.
With all the new drugs on the market that are hurting people, I really don't have a lot of faith in the FDA. Many drugs approved by them have not had their intended effect.
I have always thought that sick people deserve the best treatment; unfortunately this is simply not the case amngst the uninsured.
In short, I think that there are many areas that could be improved upon for the treatment of our sick. I'm just not sure that going after the people like ageless cures is the best avenue to address this.
