Many have told me to go back and read my history about the conflict between Israel and Palestine and I did just that because I only know one side to it and I want to be well informed. So I read and I asked and here is what I found out.
At the beginning of the the 21st century the Ottoman empire was in control of most of the Palestine and the land that is now known as Israel, Gaza strip and the West Bank Jordan River and so forth. Okay,so after the WWI Palestine was under the control of the British who made promises to Arab and European and French Zionist how Palestine would be shared. Well this went on to having letters exchanged and well in the end Britain promised the Arabs that they would get their Independence after the war and at the same time the Jewish believed that in 1917 the Balfour Declaration stated that Palestine was the national home for the Jews. Okay so so far we have the British government playing mind games with them. But on top of that Britain signs a secret agreement with the French on how these two countries would be divide the Arab parts of the Ottoman Empire. So basically here is Britain trying to be sneaky or at least thats what it looks like promising everybody something.Well all of these promises only lead to problems between the Palestinian and the Jewish community. The Arab community was the majority since it was an Arab land. The Jewish community had "settled" there. Its kind of like what the Americans did to the Native Americans. So the Jews tried to create their homeland in the Palestinian homeland. Somewhere between 1936 to 1939 the Palestinian people rebelled which is only normal. Here are people trying to take their homeland away or trying to claim something that is not theirs.Anyways the rebellion wasn't violent not until there was talk about splitting the country in half.
In the end of WWII under Resolution 181 they end up splitting Palestine into two parts 56 percent went to Israel and that was including the most fertile pieces of land. The other 44 percent went to the Arabs. Well in my behalf I think this sucks because this land was an Arab land and it was taken out of their hands just like that because it had not won its independence yet. Which by the way Britain promised them they would have their independence after the war. Right after the U.N casted its vote the fights began. Even thought the European (Jews) were small in number their military was well trained, well armed, and organized. The Palestinian people were not. Once Britain withdrew from the Jews quickly claimed their independence and took all the land assigned to them and more. By the end of this whole thing Israel took 77 percent of the land and the other countries had no interest in Palestine becoming an Independent country they as well took the rest of what was left . Egypt too the Gaza strip and Jordan took east Jerusalem and the west bank. Palestine was no longer even on the map.
The Palestinian People were left with nothing. At least 150,000 were left in Israel and 700,000 were left trying to get away from the war found them selves in refugee camps forbidden to ever return home or they left to neighboring countries like the Gaza strip or West bank which by the way only lead to them later being ruled by Jordan and Egypt.
Since then the Palestinian people find themselves in economic struggle dislocation and dispossession. Others live under the rule of Israel with strict military regulations and they aren't allowed to travel in or out of their area without permission if they are to do so they risk being arrested or expulsion.
I could keep going on and on how the Palestinian people have struggle and continue to struggle but some people tend to be closed minded and then start writing me how Hezbollah and Hamas are this and that and they do this and that when they are their own organization just like Bush is our problem. Is you want to learn and be open minded read about it look up the history behind Israel and Palestine.
