I find it ironic, that with "all" the intelligent, talented, moral, business people that we have in this Country--

C.E.O's, owners --that have built business's from the ground up--sometimes over & over--

People who KNOW the domestic & international situations backward & forward!

GOOD moral, sound-principled individuals--

that we wind up with "LOSERS"-- like the candidates, & legislature we have!

Geez!!!!!

I mean, many are "lifelong" DO-NOTHINGS!!

They show up (sometimes) & vote along with the rest of the party--

Just like a car salesman--they CAN speak!!!!

They occasionally (perhaps for a favor/fee)  get a "BAD" lobbyist rider attached to a important bill going through that would NEVER be passed!

They have employees send voters letters of B.S.--telling them reasons they did what they did!

I have YET--to hear one say something negative about the immigration problem--the graft problem--the "suspicious" oil theories--!

The presidential candidates tell us what they WILL do--?

They can ONLY do what Congress will let them do--WHAT they all agree to--NOTHING!

I suspect that after gas hits 4-5.00 a gal this summer, & all the checks are spent--& we cannot do what we need to do--we will see that we are "history"---

Just "maybe"---some "INTELLIGENT" being will "volenteer to "lead" us--?

THEN--it will be too late--

There is SO much emphasis on these rebate checks and only offered once the IRS receives the early tax returns.
It's obvious the money will not go into circulation, it will only relieve the high credit owed to the banks.
Both reasonings.
1. Government's way of recovering needed funds.
2. A way to help their buddies in the banking industry.
With the high interest credit cards and banks charge, neither should be in trouble.
We the tax payers are now forced to bail out one of the largest institutions.
Doesn't this sound like a deje vous of the Bush savings and loans (S&L's) bailout in the 80's with the West Texas Oil Scam.
How crooked can a family be ?????

You are SO astute--
The rebate checks are just a "pacification of the masses" that will allow the culmination of the gas ripoff & leave the nation broke, & in DEEP debt, perhaps?

I have many friends that appear to be well off, but they are in debt up to their as-!
Their net worth is NEGLIGIBLE, meaning that if any income is stopped--they are a virtual hobo!
I just read that we are DEEP in debt to China, perhaps the reason for ALL this "cheap BLEEP" here!
While I assumed we were a GREAT solvent nation, perhaps, like my friends, we are NOT so well off--?

The "election debacle" in Florida which cost Gore the election, governed by his brother--that later proved Gore should have won--should have been a sign to most!

There are still "those" that will profess that Bush is doing a GREAT job, & we should support him--?
(The numbers dwindle--everyday though--)

I think you may should renew your relationship with your maker--yhe going may get rough!

All the talk about change is just that, but to effectively have an influence ONE must have a bargaining chip, it's called a gun and it's why they want to take them away.I remember when Charleton Heston raised His musket above His head shook it visciously and said "from my cold dead hands" it was a time in my life when I was wondering where all the patriots had gone.I stand and say for God's sake and for the peace that is ours to lose don't make us use them. The truth is You can feel the tension, it feels inevitable and Men from 18 to 85 are of the same thinking and a lot of women too.I don't mean to rant and rave but I am concerned about the fact that my country is being taken away from the next generations and it's beginning to look like a slave state rather than the America that I am so fond of.It is rather difficult to restrain one self at times.

Just a senior citizen who has a college degree, has been VERY successful in life because of a relationship with my God--
I can probably live out my life in a comfortable status, barring some horrendus social collapse!
I state my views, in hopes someone gets something out of them, & could care less what my detractors think!
I enjoy blogs with sensible, rational, logic, & hope to get something out of them myself--
If my stance seems arogant, I apologize, as I consider myself a humble person.
What I have learned, I feel confident in, & what others have learned, I hope to learn from.
May God bless--
