COME MEET THE FOX STAFF DAY

I have been to the Fox studios twice now but never been past the front desk. I think it would be neat to take a tour of the place, as well as meet some of the people that keep me coming back morning after morning and night after night. What do you think bloggers, should we have a MEET THE FOX STAFF DAY???
BRAVO!!!!!!!! GREAT JOB!!!
Sorry that someone died but these Officers did NOTHING wrong. At the end of the day the OFFICER will go home to their family. IF this man really was a part of ANY type of law enforcement then he would know better than to run. Facts remain, HE RAN, HE REACHED FOR SOMETHING, HE HAD FIREARMS IN HIS CAR!!! Some he died but if you run from the police and reach for a weapon you ARE gonna get shot.
PublishAmerica is drastically reducing sales prices of all titles on its own website!
A little background: A few weeks ago we shared with you news about the pressure that many publishers were receiving from online vendor Amazon.com. As you know, PublishAmerica refused to budge. Today we can also report that this was not the first time that Amazon attempted to strong-arm PublishAmerica.
Roughly a year ago Amazon forced PublishAmerica to raise the pricing of our own books on our own website. They would not allow us to sell our almost 30,000 titles at sales prices lower than what Amazon chose to charge, and they threatened us with the very same retaliation that followed a year later after all. We complied at the time, and have been charging full list price in our own online store, because Amazon also charged full list price.
Staring down the bully: Now that Amazon has decided to punish PublishAmerica anyway for resisting further bullying, the time has come to reduce prices in our own online bookstore. And as an introductory step we will now slash our prices in half.
That's right: all book sales on PublishAmerica's website are at a 50 pct discount. Go see for yourself at www.publishamerica.com.
The introductory offer will expire April 28, when discounts will go back to approximately where they were before Amazon first attempted to dictate the nation's vending terms.
Thank you!

I know this is a hot topic but when I saw this video I was floored. We have had this problem hit close to home here in Houston with more than one Law Enforcement Officer. I was speechless.

Pink. Would you wear it proudly? If I have the chance I have no problem wearing pink to support Breast Cancer research. I come from a family where Breast Cancer runs high. It has touched my life in more ways than one. So I may not be able to run or walk but I will do my share to support the research. Would YOU wear pink?
Amazon.com is a bully

I have never been a fan of amazon.com and now I have more reason to not like them. This was sent to me by my publisher and you can bet I am going to respond to Amazon on the matter.
Dear Author,
PublishAmerica is intensifying its ties with BarnesandNoble.com as its primary online vendor. At the same time, we are devaluating our relationship with Amazon.com. Unfortunately, we are doing this under pressure.
Amazon has informed us a few days ago that they are insisting on printing every PublishAmerica book they sell, in their own recently bought in-house digital printing facility. We have been given just over two weeks to comply. Their ultimatum implies that PublishAmerica must submit almost 60,000 separate book files (text and cover), and redo every single one of them so they conform to the complicated technical specs that Amazon's in-house press requires.
They also demand a huge increase of their own profit-per-book, which would lead to dramatically lower royalty payments for our authors on all books sold through Amazon.com. Amazon's threat: if you do not play ball, we will disable the "Buy" button for your books.
Not surprisingly, PublishAmerica refuses to be swayed by anyone's strong-arming tactics, big name or otherwise, especially given the fact that budging would mean an additional expense on the publisher's side of tens of thousands of dollars, on top of the unacceptable royalty losses for our authors.
When they tried to force our hand in the past, Amazon representatives have suggested that PublishAmerica should simply pass on its Amazon-caused expenses to its authors. Of course we have refused this. PublishAmerica never charges its authors as much as a single penny, ever. We are not going to change this winning policy under the threat of anyone's intimidation, nor are we willing to involuntarily accept any royalty cuts on behalf of our authors.
PublishAmerica's almost 30,000 titles remain available to Amazon, and we will continue to also make all future titles available to them. Amazon continues to be able to access our books the same way they, as well as all other retailers, have always accessed them, through at least four separate venues. One of those venues is LightningSource, a daughter company of the world's largest book wholesaler Ingram, which prints our books for retailers. (Amazon was attempting to take away a portion of this printing volume from Lightning Source until we prevented it.) If they want to obtain any PublishAmerica title, they can at all times, as they always have.
PublishAmerica's books will furthermore continue to be available to just about every other book retail venue as well, including all Barnes and Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks, Books-a-Million and many other chain and independent bookstores, and to online outlets such as BarnesandNoble.com.
Barnes and Noble remains PublishAmerica's number one customer: more of our books have always been sold through Barnes and Noble and that company's online store than through any other vendor. Given the new circumstances, we now fully anticipate significant sales increases through BarnesandNoble.com and other places.
Thank you for your support. If you feel inclined to let Amazon.com know what you think of their actions, we encourage you to contact them at cust.service@amazon.com or call them at 206-266-1000 or 1-866-216-1072.
Thank you,

I am man enough to admit when I am wrong and I am ALWAYS willing to take responsibility for my actions. With that being said I want to clear the air on something. Last week, everyone was wondering where Chassan was. I was not because I heard things through my work network. Now when the question was asked I simply stated what I, no one else, but I thought MIGHT have happened. NEVER at any time did I state it as fact.
I continued to use the word IF, and others took it as fact, sorry but you misread what I said. Now back when I was blogging on Chassan’s blogs when I asked if I ever worked with Chassan I NEVER got a NO, which would have been simple enough IF I had never worked with him. HOWEVER, in my speculations and “PERSONAL ATTACKS” as Chassan called it, I DID state that if this was NOT the same person then I don’t know what to tell you. How quickly THAT part was forgotten.
Now the guy I was talking about was arrested about the same time Chassan disappeared and then made bail. I was called to be updated on the situation, since there was a lot of bad blood between the two of us.
Chassan, if you were truly offended by this and you are NOT the guy I AM referring to then I apologize. I am man enough to say that. However, don’t deny what you have told others. I was told by FOX staff of the things that I said you claimed, so that never came from me. So continue to repost New Stories that others have already posted, there are those that miss that, I for one, do not.
Oh and to address that issue of hiding ones self, I have NEVER hid who I am, my ugly mug has been out there for the entire world to see from the beginning, OTHERS did not until someone posted a blog about that subject, oh yea, that was me too. NEVER call me someone who hides who I am, cause as you can see, I don’t hide. I may hurt, lie wounded emotionally, and as a dear friend like to call me, A DIVA, but I never hide.

Runaway Child

I heard this song a few weeks back and WOW, talk about flashback. This song when it first came out hit me hard. I was one of those kids who felt I needed a ticket on that train. I knew what was out there but I felt it was better than dealing with what I had at home. Hell maybe if I did it then FINALLY my parents would notice or give a damn enough to care, to listen to my silent cries.
Parents, listen to your children. Once they are gone they may not come back.

Lyrics:
Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a slow torch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning
So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep
It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep
There's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray
CHORUS
Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here no there
Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seems so faded
I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just drownin' in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train
Everything is cut and dry
Day and night, earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it
CHORUS
Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughin' at the rain
Little out of touch, little insane
Just easier than dealing with the pain
Runaway train never comin' back
Runaway train tearin' up the track
Runaway train burnin' in my veins
Runaway but it always seems the same

Why I Love Fox

Yesterday was the prime reason. I was able to watch the video yesterday and WOW did those guys rock. FOX ROX is right. There is NO other station I know of that has this much laid back fun side to the news cast. THE NEWS IS SUPPOSE TO ALWAYS BE SERIOUS, pffffft, not on FOX. I love the fact that we are given a chance to get to know the people we watch on TV. The are not just another face we see everyday but a friend that we invite into our homes daily. I dont think ANYONE else would allow thier viewers to get to know the staff the way we have been given the chance to know ours. THAT is why I love FOX.

Sorry I have not been around as much as I use to but I have been busy. I have been working on my newest book, which I am very very excited about. I can honestly say that I have never been THIS excited about one of my projects before and at the risk of getting a block, I just poured all my writing into the book, so I have let my blogger friends suffer with my absences and for that I’m sorry. I know when you read what I’ve written though you will forgive me.
Also here at work there have been some changes. In security the holidays is the busiest time of the year for us. With getting ready for new accounts our company has decided to branch out into another form of security. I just completed a body guard course this weekend and soon I will be adding body guard to the list of jobs I have done. I’m actually very excited about it as well. So this is why I have disappeared and I promise to return soon.
Cook The Turkey, Don't Be One

There are a few different ways to defrost a turkey, but thawing it in the refrigerator is considered the most reliable. You should never defrost a turkey at room temperature. Leave the turkey in the fridge for about 24 hours, for every five pounds that the turkey weighs.
Cook that bird all the way through. Do not cook it half way and then try to finish it later, yes some people have tried this and it will always end with a trip to the hospital. Just me, THAT pain is not worth it.
Now for those of you that want to deep fry your bird just remember to DO NOT overfill the pot. When you put that puppy in the oil WILL rise and if it spills over you better be ready to fight a fire. Homes have been burned down this way.
Lastly, on that faithful day, when you jump up and yell at the TV when a play is made during the football game, be mindful of others around you, not everyone wants to be wearing your food or drink. GO COWBOYS!!!
Crazy Man on the Corner

I know I’m weird and I do stupid stuff for my own amusement, this morning was no different. I had to deliver one of our work trucks to the shop for some work, and instead of standing around waiting for my ride I decided to kill two birds with one stone. I was hungry and the Valero at the corner of I-10 and Sheppard would provide me with breakfast at a cheep price. Also since there seemed to be lots of trains passing through I didn’t want to get stuck behind one.
The walk down to I-10 is only a half mile. I walk that easy when at work so off I went. In full uniform I look like Harris County at first glance so until someone gets close up they can’t tell that I am just Security. As I started my hike, new MP3 player in my ears, I was one happy clam smiling. As I walked onward I started receiving dirty and nasty looks. What ever happened to Texas being full of friendly people who waved? Then it hit me, wave at these people.
My grin became evil looking in nature and the hand began to wave. As people were driving by I waved and waved and waved. The looks turned from dirty to just plain CRAZY!!! Of course this made me wave even more so. Soon the crazy looks were turning into laughter. I think one older lady in a blue bug spilled her coffee as she laughed, SORRY!!!!!!
When I got to I-10 I enjoyed my breakfast and confirmed that my ride was on its way. I wanted to remain visible so I could jump in the car and go so I stood at the corner. As people were passing by I began my waving again. Again the looks started out dirty and ended in laughter. A bus driver, one who was not suppose to stop there, asked if I needed a ride somewhere, he would give me a lift. Just then my ride showed up.
So if you want to really throw someone for a loop, just wave like the crazy man this morning on the corner.
