Okay I dont know about you women, so it would be interesting to hear your respounces. When in the pulic BOARD ROOM, and everyone knows what I'm talking about, do you talk to other people while in the stalls? I mean, do you CONDUCT business while doing your business? Is that really a time for conversation? Saying hello to someone is one thing but carrying on an entire conversation? Thoughts?

Well when I have to go I put people on the phone on hold or call them back but no. This happened while I was conducting business and then someone else came in and started talking. I mean talking to yourself is a little out there but talking to someone else and a complete stranger for that matter. I'm weird but I'm not THAT weird.
Am I wrong?

nah... that's really weird. i don't think i've ever had a conversation with a stranger in a public bathroom. on the rare occasion i go in there with a friend or family member, we'll finish our thought quickly... suspend the discussion, and resume after leaving. i really don't like it when people are loud and boisterous in there.

that said, i had to do a double take on this blog. you wrote the blog and their first comment... or are you two different people? lol! don't talk to yourself in the bathroom though. you might draw some unwanted attention.

Too weird for me. I would have to get out of there as fast as I could. I would check out his shoes under the stall though so I could see what kind of nut was in there when he does come out. I have heard loud SINGING in the "office" before. That is also a little on the edge.

Only if I need paper.

I do look at their feet, though. Shoes, pedicures..I like feet. And if I see some really pretty feet, I'll tell the owners, but AFTER we've concluded the meeting, so to speak.

That is something I'm very leery of. In fact, I'm leery of public restrooms. To me they are extremely gross. I don't want to get unknown germs.

Did you know that while we are on the subject of bathrooms. Ladies, the bottom of your purses when you sit them down in a public restroom stall has been tested - it has some of the worst germs. That should gross a bunch of those Dooney, Coach and Gucci fashion divas out.

I have once. But that was at my publishers office Bantam in NYC. But other than that.

I'll have conversations with Jeff while I'm going to the bathroom, or I'll have conversations with him when he is going. Same with my sisters (hey when you grow up with one bathroom and three girls, you wind up sharing the bathroom at times). So this carried into our adulthood. I think I've had not long conversations, but I may be finishing up a conversation as I enter the stall, especially at the movies, if I'm with a friend and we are talking about the movie. If someone I know is in the stall next to me and there is no TP in my stall, I'm going to speak up. Yes public bathrooms are disgusting. Airplane bathrooms are even more disgusting. If we are on a road trip, I will specifically stop at places other than a gas station just to go to a cleaner bathroom. My idea of camping is a 5-star hotel.

No Talking! Can't stand it.

Maybe a quick 'hello', if you have to... but what really gets me: people who answer their cell phone or make calls while taking care of business.

Unbelievable. Yuck.

Funny all.
When I wrote this I was in awe that while I was in there a complete stranger wanted to talk. Sorry but that is my alone time.
Now I have walked in on some people talking to themselves and continued the one sided conversation but to each his own.
A friendly HELLO or HOWS IT GOING while in passing is fine but not, WHAT YOU THINK OF THE WEATHER or WHO YOU GONNA VOTE FOR, stuff like that.

I don't talk to people and have an aversion to public restrooms. If I HAVE to use one, I have disinfectant wipes in my purse and wipe everything down, even the door to the restroom. Ken Hoffman had a column in the Chron in which he stated he used his foot to flush!
