Morning, Bloggerz...

This is national Bike to Work Week... and, with gas prices, now may be the best time to start pedaling.

I tried it, this morning... (I'll let you guess how early I started)... and will share the experience when Mayor White does a bike to work event on Friday.

Look... depending on how far your commute is... bikeing may get you to your destination faster than a car. Plus... there's the gas savings and the exercise. Yes... it does take some planning... but you might find you like it.

Meantime... let me know if you give it a try.

Andrea... Unfortunately, I'm usually stuck with Very Little Hair Days.

Seriously... part of the planning includes showering / cleaning-up at work.

Another thing you may want to consider is if the route you plan to take is 'bike friendly'. It would be tragic to bike to work to help save the environment and save on gas money, only to be hit by a car.

Very true... High Flyer. This morning's route in was selected only after some recon to make sure it would be safe and effective. Because of traffic concerns... the trip home will be something different (although a little longer), but safer.

Please be careful. I enjoy watching you, and don't want anything bad to happen. Please keep us posted on how it works out for you. Take care!

What about the suit...crisp white shirt, tie, etc? Can we assume that you dropped those off the day before (while using your car) or did you strap them to your back?

I think you metioned in a previous blog that you live in the Katy area. So to get from there to the 59 & 610 area on a bike and get cleaned up after arriving, you must have left at 1 am or something. Yes? No?

Yes... Bum... had to bring clothes in ahead of time so I could get cleaned up when I got in.

Storm... roll-out was at 145am... got in by 3.

I'll share the story Friday morning between 715 and 730.
