Are you holding out hope that the price of gas is going to come back down to earth at some point? Do you think that if you can just make it past this summer all will be well again? I don't think so. In fact now that big oil has us paying four dollars for a tank they know we will just keep forking it over.

The only reasonable solution for me is to drive less. My friends and I have decided to start sharing rides as much as possible and even at home the wife and I take one car whenever we can. I may even start riding my bike to the grocery store to pick up a few things instead of driving.

What are you doing to ease the gas gouge?

Drive less, bunch up errands if I have to go, let the school bus take Patrick to school (he's going to summer school).

Let's not also forget that oil is used in the making of plastics. Quite a bit. I've bought some of those 99 cent bags at HEB and I take them everywhere, even to Walmart (they don't care). I don't use the plastic bags anymore. If the store saves some money on plastic bags, they might be able to drop the cost of their food prices a bit.

According to Kristine Galvan, I'm the station junk man. That's because I pick up all the assignments that everyone else avoids. But hey, it's a living. I'm a non-award winning, non-journalist and so far I like it that way.
