TIRED OF BURNING ALL THAT GAS BUT NOT QUITE SURE RIDING THE BUS IS FOR YOU? METRO'S COMMUTE CALCULATOR TELLS YOU JUST HOW MUCH YOU'LL SAVE BY USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION... YOU JUST HAVE TO TELL IT YOUR START AND END POINTS.

It tells you how much you'll save, but only if you get rid of your car entirely -- cost per mile factors in things that won't exactly go away if you save your car for the weekends, either, such as registration and insurance fees! When I take those out, I lose $30/month if I go with Metro.

it needs to also tell you how much earlier you need to leave when you stop every block to let people on and off and how a 15min ride to work in your car could turn into an hr long commute via metro. yeah, they "keep people moving" but slowly!

i took metro the 1st 5 yrs i lived here b/c i didn't have a car b/c i was here for school. it sucked!!!!! yes, it got me to where i needed to be, and i am grateful for that, but i'll choose my car any day over that!!!

my time is valuable too, so i'll suck up the rising costs to drive my car!

It's all about supply and demand. We spend more, prices go up. We need to stop complaining and start saving. If we don't need to go out, stay home. There are plenty of fun activities to do from home with your family. Everyone complains yet we keep driving around. They have the right to raise prices cuz they know we will keep buying. It's all economics.
