Depends on what you are buying. I believe as more people buy them, the prices will come down. Just like HD-DVR or BluRay -- they were astronomically expensive -- like over $1000 -- when they first come out and now they are much lower. That isn't a green product, but the concept is the same.

Going green doesn't have to cost you a thing, like recycling or reusing or buying a bigger package and breaking it up into smaller parts on your own, etc. Sometimes it's free. My friend's son just grew out of his shorts, a size my son is going into, and Patrick just acquired about 14 pairs of shorts in excellent condition. So I didn't have to buy new and I didn't even have to buy used. Nice gift, huh?

I agree with PBMom, the price will come down. But till then it doesn't cost anything to recycle. You actually save money by loosing less water and electricty.

I bought a bunch of energy effecient light bulbs during the green tax weekend.

Ever since League City started the recycle pickup, I got another recycle bin and have seen our trash go from 2 trashcans on trash day down to 1 trash bag. I am seriously thinking of starting a composte bin and then maybe I won't have any trash to put out on trash day.

The hubs and I are even looking into rain catching drums to use to water the yard and wash the car. Those do not come cheap. The cheapest one I have seen is for about $100. We can make one for a fraction of that price.
