If you watched FOX 26 last week, you know I just got back from Vegas!  I've finally caught up on sleep (and am making complete sentences)!  It's hard NOT to have a good time in this city.  I love the food, the sites, the nightlife, and the people watching!  Oh yeah, the gambling's OK too.  I'm not a huge gambler, but it is fun to play a few hands.

Erin Anthony asked me what the best and worst part of my trip was ...

The best part - going out there for a friends birthday (there were 12 of us that went) ... while there, we went to see KA (the Cirque Du Soliel show at MGM Grand).  It was so cool!

The worst part - trying to round up those 12 friends to go do something "together"!!!  Everyone was on different time schedules!  One friend we h\never saw the entire trip ... he was up 12am - 12pm!  Totally  different for our schedule.

What do you like best about Vegas? What are your best and worst parts of your last trip?

Blog it here!

I have only been once and that was 12 or 13 years ago. I loved it all. We didn't see any shows. We were only there for the weekend. So we spent alot of time just walking from one hotel to another, dropping coins in slot machines as we went. My ex-mom-in-law said I looked like a kid in a candy store.

My favorite part was seeing the filming of "Con Air" while there. We were on the bus headed torward the Strip and saw a plane "crashed" into a hotel. Everyone started talking about what it could be. We found out later it was for a movie.

Kristi, I am going next month, so I'll have to let you know when I get back! A few girlfriends and I are renting an RV to tour several national parks, but we are ending the trip with a night in Vegas!

This would be loooooong post if I told you what I didn't like about Vegas. I think Las Vegas is overhyped. By the end of our trip I was calling it Las Vomit. I wrote my best friend an email about it, listing what all went wrong. Twenty things. 20! I have never seen a city less worried about customer satisfaction than Vegas. I was told NO more times in those four days by vendors than I have been in years. It started out with the Paris hotel taking five hours to get our rooms ready (we made the reservations in JANUARY!!) on Thursday, and ended with our flight home being delayed on Monday. The Stratosphere screwed us out of money, Treasure Island packed people in for a show then cancelled it five minutes after it was to have started, one half of the sidewalk was closed due to construction so all the pedestrians had to cram into one normal size sidewalk, the drivers will just as soon run you over as follow the stop lights and there's a bunch of illegals handing out sex cards with naked pictures of prostitutes to anyone who will take one. My fifteen year old niece has 640 of them, we counted!! They tried to give my 11 year old daughter cards on numerous occasions..I'm glad Tony was there or I would have been arrested for assault. And food was CRAZY expensive. (These are only the tip of the iceberg, too.)

The good things that happened? Jill and Andy's wedding was really cool, although Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel has yet to post the pictures, and the reception at Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville was fun, fun, fun. I always love Margaritaville!!
Tony competed in his first "real" poker tournaments, he missed the final table at O'Shea's by two, and made the final table at the Paris. I figured he'd really like Vegas, avid poker player he is, but he himself said he'd take Louisiana over Vegas any day. Which is fine with me.
Basically, if you don't gamble (I don't), drink (I do very little, never when my daughter is with me) or if you're not into nudity you are SOL in Vegas. All I got from Vegas is all they care about is your money; when it's gone, who cares?? Good example is the way our hotel handled people checking out. When our shuttle bus dropped us at the Paris, it was in through the front so you can ooh, aah, over how wonderful it is. When you leave? Please wait for the shuttle bus out the side entrance, where we have three benches out in the sun (and rain) for your convenience, and where no one can see you.

In all fairness, I have to say that MAYBE (just MAYBE) I would have enjoyed myself more if there were no kids around. I really think Las Vomit is more of an adults playground, and that they need to decide which crowd they're going after...the family vacation crowd, or the adults. I don't think that Vegas is a place where you can be a good mommy and have a good time.

Hi, Kristi!

Greetings from Orlando!!

I guess you did not become a millionaire in Vegas, huh?

I don't have a best or worst part to tell. Vegas is too far away from Florida ... :(

Glad to hear you are having fun!!

Take care,

I've never been to Vegas. Glad you had a good time. With my allergies to smoke, I doubt it would be a pleasant trip for me ever.
