The true origin of Christmas is filled with controversy and compromise. In short, the Christmas holiday we celebrate today is indicative of Christianity's willingness to absorb the world's customs and traditions, and forget its simple roots in the historical reality of Jesus Christ. Christmas should be nothing more than a simple, yet wonderful reminder of Christ's humble beginning as a human child in this world. His birth merely set the stage for the power, glory, and salvation that would be revealed in His life, death, and resurrection! Whether it's December 25th, sometime in late September, or any other day of the year, we should use each and every opportunity to reflect on Jesus Christ and His message of hope for all of us.

For today's Christian, the origin of Christmas is, and should be, the birth of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Bible. Nothing more and nothing less. However, most of what we witness on December 25th each year has absolutely nothing to do with that blessed day,

So for  those who try to destroy Christmas the joke is on them all they accomplish  is Christians realizing the true meaning of Christmas and a coming closer to God and further away from the commercialism of the Holiday.

You do realize most of your holiday's dates coincide directly with Pagan Ritualism right?

Exinternae, I do realize that so this is why I don't get to upset when these holidays are attacked because Christians know God's plan and it has nothing to do with Trees, or Rabbits and eggs. Christmas came about in Germany Santa clause was a man, a toy maker, I have no Idea how Jesus resurrection ties in with Easter bunnies, candy, and eggs.
I feel these are American traditional holidays only.

The tie in with Easter eggs & Jesus resurrection is easy..an egg is a potential new life. Jesus resurrection give us the potential for a new life with God; all we have to do is accept him. A renewal thing, basically.
The Easter bunny is a way to placate the non-believers and give them a reason to celebrate so they don't feel left out. Kinda like Santa Claus is there so the non-believers can celebrate Christmas alongside the Christians...oh, and the stores make more money, too. Gotta cover all the bases you know!
