How far out do you live?

I was just weighing the pros and cons of living close to or farther from Houston. You can usually get a nice, big house for a decent price if you're willing to drive 25 miles to work each way. Is it worth it? Right now we live about 16 miles away from Fox26 and the drive isn't bad. So my question for you is how far do you drive to get to work and what are the pros and cons to where you live?
Guy gives me the finger

This past weekend I was out shopping with my wife and babies. Here we are, Mommy and Daddy pushing a double stroller waiting to cross the little road in the parking lot in from of the store. There is a pedestrian crosswalk (striped lines) and I started walking out to cross. Well, here comes this guy in a new white Cadillac. He stops, but he's inching forward almost like he's revving his engine at me. I was already in front of the car, so I looked back at Crystal and beckoned her to go ahead and cross. Well this guy is foaming at the mouth and as soon as we cleared the path he slams on the gas and gives me the finger!
I'm yelling at him, "what are you going to do, run over my babies?" What a major jerk. So, if you're in Sugar Land be on the lookout for an old white guy in a new white Cadillac and if you see him, tell him shame on you for trying to run over a little family minding their own business in a parking lot.
Tailgating a school bus!?

Some people are just nuts. This week I saw someone tailgating a school bus on 59. What's worse is that there were 5 or six cars piled up behind the lead car making a group of half a dozen cars all tailgating and all trying to push the little kids off the road. What is up with these people? Relax, don't run the bus off the road, you'll get where you're going eventually.
Tow truck tragedy

The recent deaths of Leon and Maurine Roberson have made me both sad and angry.
I'm sad because the Roberson's seem like they were wonderful people. They had a close, loving family, and they were revered by their communtity and their church. They seemed like the type of folks that I would love to have as grandparents. So when a Safe Clear wrecker driver with a long criminal history slammed into them and killed them, I had a rush of emotions.
This is not the first time that the issue of reckless behavior or criminal records has been raised about tow truck drivers in Houston. Several months ago one of our own viewers sent in an email for our Mondays with the Mayor segment which described problems with speeding tow truck drivers so well, one can almost say that it was prophetic.
The letter from our viewer asked the Mayor why tow truck drivers were allowed to drive so aggressively, and it expressed concern that one day someone was going to get in a wreck because of it.
There is no excuse for the fact that a man with FIVE DWI convictions was allowed to operate a Safe Clear wrecker, no excuse. Let's just hope our city officials accept responsibilty rather than find one subordinate on which to place the blame.
