No matter what colleges do...

No matter what schools do, those with the intent to inflict this much harm on others will do so no matter what the campus offers for security.  Don't get me wrong, it is important to have campus police, emergency protocols, and advanced means of communication.  But to 'breath easy' thinking that extra measures will stop anything from happening is just not practical.

you are very right on this subject. you can plase all the security measures but if someone wants to do that much harm they willdo it by any means necessary.

Lets change the scene just a bit. Lets place 3 people with conceal carry permits in the room.

I think you are right about this. We can have all the security right and still there is always a chance something could happen.

We have security/detectors before you enter courthouses, airports, post offices, some retail jewelry shops, etc. Why can't we have this same at the schools and colleges? Oh, yes, of course, it comes down to cost. It is always about money..... If the schools and colleges could afford it, it would happen. But that cost would be passed on to us in one way or another. Question is - Are we willing to pay for it? It may not deter all the crime, but could save a few more lives if more security were available.

It would be difficult for colleges to have that because the campus is so open and wide, but a school that is isolated to one building could have this.
