I have an infection in my kidneys (the joys of pregnancy) and I have been in the hospital for two days... I am strapped to an IV and I have hated it, but I am glad that there has not been a cessation in news...or in blogging!

Since I am new to this state, I haven't really researched the good and the bad hospitals in the area, I just chose the closest one, Clear Lake Regional, the staff has been nothing but great to me...

But what are your opinions, where have you had the best/worst treatment? Moms, where is the best place to have your babies?

I have only lived in texas for 2 yrs. now. I dont know any of the good hospitals. But bayshore hospital in pasadena is where i had my son and i did not like it. Yes the staff was great to me, but their rules made me stress out when i had to go and be induced.

Its way to long to type so i'll just put it this way, i will walk 40 miles to another hospital to have my baby if we decide to have another!!!

I had a heart attack, & chose Clear Lake Regional hospital.
They are supposed to have the best care outside of the mediical center, where you have to drive so far, pay to park, fight traffic, etc.
I had a good experience, & think you made a wise choice.

hala,
i'm doing some catching up on my reading. wanted to tell you that i had a kidney infection too when i was 12 weeks pregnant. i had the choice of a 2 day hospital visit or my husband administering the i.v. drugs for me at home. my wonderful husband made the decision to do it at home. it was very stressful for him. he worried about every air bubble in the i.v. tube. told me "i love you" every time he injected the medicine. i wouldn't put him through it again. but i remember how awful i felt and i trust that you've bounce back by now.
as for the hospitals. my second boy i had at women's hospital. great experience. they had a very good pain management program which was important to me because i was having a second c-section. the first hospital was a bad experience in comparison. if you e-mail me i can tell you what happened. watkins@fox26.com.
when are you due? hope all is well now!
