Today on the morning news, it was reported that at risk students at some HISD schools are going to be given Blackberry's as an incentive to stay in school.
What are the requirements for this program, what GPA do they have to keep up? Behavior? What if they go over their minutes? What kind of responsibility is being taught to these students?
Unless the school system can think of a fool proof plan, in which these students will be using these electronic devices for all the right reasons--I think this is a horrible plan...Why do we constantly have to baby these students in order to get C's. That's all we ask, be average, show up to school, mind your own business... is that so hard...or will that only happen if we give them high-tech toys?
