Dear America, I come from a strange state (Louisiana) where everyone seems to be mixed with black, white, latino, native american and Asian but no one really wants to acknowlege it and seems to revel in mistrusting one another. Let me state for the record that I DO NOT speak for all black people as I've not been elected or appointed by anyone. The views I express are purely my own.
You are a great, powerful and beautiful nation but lets face it you've made some mistakes in your past. I don't mean to harp on them as you've attempted to rectify most of them. I would like to thank you for the many rights and freedoms which you've granted me and would like to thank the many brave men and women of every race and creed who spoke to you on my behalf that the rights in question be granted. Were it not for their sacrifice I would not be in a position to either convey or articulate my thoughts to you. There are a few things I would like to ask of you. Mind you I feel a little guilty asking given that I already have so much, but I assure you, that the things for which I ask are quite small in the grand scheme of things. I would like:
1. For people to stop assuming that because I don't always agree with you that I neither love nor respect you. I would lay down my life for you and that should never be questioned.
2. The right to achieve via hard work and sacrifice without others assuming that the fruits of my labor were merely entitlements or that they were taken from others who might have deserved them more.
3. The right to speak up passionately for what I believe without being perceived as some kind of threat.
4. Equal justice under your laws. I'm no criminal , but would like to think that both I and some kid from the suburbs would receive the SAME consideration were I ever accused of anything.
5. For men and women who've had limited to no experience with men and women of color to cease treating us with suspicion.
6. For Politicians of EVERY Political Party to stop treating me and others like me as some monolithic people with a collective conscience. We are black people, WE ARE NOT THE BORG! But I won't lie...I wouldn't mind hooking up with 7 of 9.
7. For those who encounter me for the first time to assume that I'm just a normal, regular Joe like themselves and I'm not that dissimilar from them.
8. For people to at least acknowledge that while I don't live in the painful past that was life for my parents and grand parents I can't pretend it never happened. I can forgive the wrongs committed to my forefathers, but I need for others NOT to tell me that those wrongs were unimportant and for me to "get over them."
9. To express pride in who I am while at the same time expressing my love for you. While I prefer being called black I should have the right to call myself an "African American" without angering anyone. Were people this upset when Americans of Italian descent started calling themselves "Italian Americans?"
10. To have my religious beliefs respected. If I choose a faith I would like to be able to practice that faith without fear of persecution. Like wise I should not be allowed to use government office or policy to bully others with my beliefs stating that mine or right and theirs are false. And should I choose NOT to exercise a faith I should have the right to do just that.
America. These are NOT demands that I make of you, but merely things that I would love to see. I'm realistic to believe that most of the items on this list are mere fantasy and will never happen, but it never hurts to mention these things.
Your Devoted Servant,
J.H./Dread-head

For a minute, lets forget about the men who are currently running for president. Let's ignore both McCain and Obama and think even less about Nadar and Barr. There is a candidate whom I think would make an excellent president of these United States.
He's a blue collar guy. He lives with his mother, but he's his own man. He's frequently seen in the company of a known prostitute, but he assures all that their relationship isn't sexual and I for one believe him. He's been known to have the occasional drink but he's no drunk. Honestly he was chased from his own home town by an angry mob, but that was just a big misunderstanding. He's a Christian in the truest sense of the word although many of the men with whom he surrounds himself are militants, sellouts, crooks and backstabbers.
In the end he would lay down his life for you and I think he's the greatest leader the world has ever known.
His name? Jesus Son of Joseph and Mary and he grew up in Nazareth. Jesus was:
A. a carpenter who lived with his mother in his 30s.
B. Seen in the company of Mary Magdalene a known prostitute.
C. Known for drinking wine and turning water into it.
D. Was chased from Nazareth after attempting to preach to them.
E. Among his disciples included:
: Simon Zealots who advocated violent resistance to Rome.
: Simon Peter who sold him out 3 times before sunrise...
: Tax collectors whom MOST assumed to be crooked.
: Judas Iscariot who betrayed him to the Romans for silver.
By the harsh political litmus test that many administer, if Jesus of Nazareth (aka Jesus Christ) were among us right now, he would be RIPE for mudslinging if he were running for anything by virtue of the company he kept. We as a society may preach change and forgiveness, but don't seem to apply it. I write this not to liken any political candidate to Jesus, but to show how remarkably petty and small people were in the ancient world and how we blindly follow in their footsteps thinking ourselves superior. No matter your political affiliation, consider this: were even a perfect person like Jesus (and no there will never be another Jesus) to run for political office we would tear him down in a minute and send him headed for the hills. If he ran as a Republican, Democrats would call him a religious fanatic. If he ran as a Democrat, Republicans would call him an indecisive liberal. he would encounter strong opposition either way. Just something to consider.
Dear Sirs:
I'm operating under the assumption that most of you are male given how many of the OPEC nations you deal with might not feel comfortable making billion dollar deals with women, but that's another topic for another day. My name is unimportant but I like most of the free world am one of your customers. I'm a working stiff in Houston, Texas who lives a quiet average life.
I go to work, I go home and I occasionally hop into my car and go no particular place simply for the joy of going there. For the past several years the price of oil has jumped steadily and seemingly everything makes them go higher. If there is a storm and a single refinery is off line for a week the price of oil rises. If one country in the middle east shoots at another or thinks about it, the price of oil goes up. If The Imir of Kuwait has a chest cold the price of oil goes up. When winter comes you raise the price of oil. When summer comes, you raise the price of oil. If we decided to explore ALTERNATIVES to crude oil the price of oil goes up. You're like a casino and the deck is so heavily stacked in your favor that it can't honestly be called a "game" anymore.
Even though last year China only used 2% of the total oil that the United States used you've told me and your other loyal customers that them wanting 2% of the total oil used by the United States justifies you jacking up the price 25% and more. You've told us that oil prices are set by supply and demand, yet as I check Reuters Business news or watch the "Nightly Business Report" on PBS I've yet to hear of petro-chemical price wars. I'm not hearing how Dubai is selling oil for less than Saudi Arabia, How Russia is trying to undercut Venezuela or how The United Arab Emmirates and Iran are having a clearance sale and "THEIR PRICES ARE INSANE!" Supply & Demand are part of a market economy but you guys aren't INTO supply and demand. You control the supply and all work together to insure that you all get richer without realizing you controlling the ENTIRE economy hurts everyone else.
Average Americans like myself have to pay more for gasoline which leaves us with smaller food budgets. But because the grocers are ALSO paying higher fuel prices they pass them on to us and WE then get less food. As the cost of doing business is rising due largely in part to your raising the price of your product on a daily basis most employers can't give their employees cost of living raises to keep up with the rising cost of everything. You are preparing the world for a possible economic depression.
Many small companies are going bankrupt because they can't afford fuel and many men and women are losing utilities because they are forced to pay higher prices for everything. I'm writing you to say that I have had enough. This summer I shall only take my car when I've no other options. I'll take public transportation and ride a bike whenever I can. My car shall sit in my driveway only having it's engine started once a week to make sure the battery doesn't die.
You and your wealthy Arab masters have successfully priced me off the road. I shall miss standing at gas stations filling my tank, driving to Austin and Louisiana to visit friends and family and just hopping in my car to drive across town for sushi or good Chinese food. Gentlemen this economic war is over. You've won. As I don't speak for all Americans I can only hope you don't use myself and several other people not driving as yet another excuse to raise the price of oil yet again.
Economically Crippled,
J Handy/Houston, Texas

I am a political/news junkie, but I am now officially burned out on our political process. I don't know about you guys, but I'm sick of all of our candidates. I'm sick of Hillary, I'm sick of Obama, I'm sick of McCain. I'm tired of Tim Russert. If I see George Snuffalufagus (Stephanophalus) analyze the superdelagates again my head is going to explode. I love this country and our electoral process, but d@mn! enough allready!
Q: How do you find out what Associate Justice "Uncle" Clarence Thomas' opinion was in any ruling since he joined the Supreme Court?
A: Ask Justice Scalia because he gave it to him.
Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was interviewed recently on the news magazine 60 Minutes by Leslie Stahl and when asked if torture met the Constitution's definition of "Torture" he clearly said no.
He danced around it a bit by saying cute little things like "How does one define torture?" and then concluded by saying having people subject you to physical pain while you're in custody (if you haven't actually been convicted of anything) DOES NOT constitute "punishment." As you've yet to be sentenced for anything and neither judge nor jury has ordered your maltreatment it isn't "punishment" by his definition. It's merely people using" interogation techniques to extract information."
Wow. I wonder if the good justice would have that same view were he ever in a room tied to a plank having water poured into his nostrils? Or if he were hooked up to a field generator and given electric shocks? Would he think he were being punished, or merely "interogated?"
I don't advocate babying those who kill innocent men and women to bring attention to a terrorist agenda, but when we start to use torture and essentially pretend the Geneva accords don't apply to us we're sending a message to the terrorist of this world that when they capture an American soldier, sailor, airman or Marine they have carte blanc to to ANYTHING to him or her.
The one CIVIL aspect of war is that (at least in theory anyway) is that prisoners are to be treated humanely. Scalia and some of his friends on the court have effectively said that the Geneva accords don't apply to Al Quaida suspects because they are NOT prisoners of war (even though they were captured on battlefields). They are merely detainees. I've heard a simular argument once before. The North Vietnamese used it to justify THEIR torture of captured Americans. Their logic? The United States never declared war against them, hence the brave American's captured were not "prisoners of war" but "war criminals."
Scalia and the court are apathetically putting American fighting men & women in jeopardy and in MY opinion THAT makes him the world's BIGGEST A-hole.

As one who is addicted to several newswires and political round tables I get lots of information on a daily basis. The other day I heard an ardent Senator Clinton supporter say: "Senator Obama should just concede." A poll was taken and many of Senator Clinton's supporters feel the same way.
I can't help but wonder if either widespread hallucinogen abuse or elevated bargain basement IDOICY are running rampant among many stauch Clinton supporters. According the the logic these apparent nuclear physicists are using if you're in a competition and leading it you should simply give up because the person you're competing against feels that he or she is better than you. Wow, if you didn't feel you were better than the other person why on earth would you BOTHER competing.
If Senator Clinton were leading in both the popular vote AND pledged delegates (she leads in neither) would these same people be telling HER to "step aside" because the junior senator from Illinois "wanted it more" and thought HE could do a "better job?" OF COURSE THEY WOULD! And after they did Lindsay Lohan and Michelle Wie would come over, tell me how much the both love guys 18 years older than they are and snuggle with me under a huge blanket while we watched Spartacus.
YEAH RIGHT! Then monkeys would fly out of my...BUT seriously, Senator Clinton keeps asking why Senator Obama can't "Close the deal" and seems to keep hinting to superdelagates that she's more electable. If that were the case, then why hasn't SHE sealed the deal and why doesn't SHE lead in either delegates OR the popular vote? BTW for those about to mention Florida and Michigan (Clinton was the only candidate ON the ballot in Michigan and 30% of the states Dems still voted "OTHER") :
"Well, let's not worry about Florida and Michigan, they're not going to count anyway."
: Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton
Your thoughts?
Am I the only single male who thinks that women all seem to want either:
a. Someone whom they can change...but will leave if they actually CAN change him.
b. a Thug with a ghost of a sensitive side that only THEY can see.
c. A complete wuss whom they can push and bully
d. An ATM that looks good in a suit whom they can show off at parties.
Perhaps I'm getting jaded in my old age. Maybe I've received the "You're a really sweet guy and everything.." speech that all females must commit to memory at 13 or when they develop breasts. Perhaps I've been cheated on too many times or have had too many women tell me that I didn't make enough money, but I've grown cynical.
This is NOT to say that we men don't have unrealistic expectations of women or that we always treat them fairly, but why the hell is it so difficult for the sexes to simply enjoy being around one another without imposing stupid guidelines on one another?
Hey I'm just venting...so please don't take offense to any of this.
I just read an article on Associated Press where the GOP and their strategist claim that they feel Obama would be JUST as beatable as HIllary Clinton in the fall. They feel the controversy with his former pastor Reverend Wright will be a determining factor and that they can successfully paint him as some kind of inexperienced liberal.
Before the GOP attempts to use the EXPERIENCE trump card they SHOULD BE REMINDED that 8 years ago they passed on venerable Senator McCain's "experience" for a man whose entire political resume was being governonr of a state whose gubnatorial office was stripped of MOST of it's power during the administration of Miriam "Ma" Ferguson Independent voters will find it puzzling if the GOP's pundits claim "GO WITH EXPERIENCE" when eight years ago they suggested JUST THE OPPOSITE.
Reverend Wright's "God Damn America" speech. Wow. Didn't Obama distance himself from this devisive rhetoric? I thought he did. Better yet, didn't McCain seek the endorsement of televangelist Rod Parsley? This would be the same Rod Parsley who said of Islam in one of his books:
"I cannot tell you how important it is that we understand the true nature of Islam, that we see it for what it really is. In fact, I will tell you this: I do not believe our country can truly fulfill its divine purpose until we understand our historical conflict with Islam. I know that this statement sounds extreme, but I do not shrink from its implications. The fact is that America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion destroyed..."
That comes from McCain's "spiritual advisor." Or What of McCain's SEEKING the endorsement of televangelist John Hagee. John Hagee once said of Caholicism:
"A Godless theology of hate that no one dared try to stop for a thousand years produced a harvest of hate."
This is the same Hagee who claimed that Hurricane Katrina was
" a punishment from God to the city of New Oreleans."
The GOP if they want independents and moderates to vote for McCain they would do better to tell us why they love McCain (whom they themselves SNUBBED 8 years ago) and why WE should love him rather than why we shouldn't trust Obama.
The GOP needs to find ways of:
A. BURNING every existing photo of nominee John McCain with CURRENT REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH.
B. Improving the economy PDQ.
C. MIRACULOUSLY lowering the prices of gas, food and various OTHER essentials that have risen dramatically in the past 8 years.
D. Having Muqtada al-sadir and his followers spontaneously combust and all who think the way they do to do the same. (good luck with that one)
E. Have Americans collectively FORGET the Patriot act and the last 7 1/2 years.
The GOP attack machine needs to focus on real issues rather than flag waving and attack ads. Because they glass house in which they live probably won't withstand al the stones destined to come flying back at them. For those in the GOP who don't take Obama seriously, one need be reminded of the fact that in 2000 the Democrats didn't take George W. Bush seriously either. Bush LOST each televised debate with Gore and did in fact LOSE the popular vote. It's a long time between NOW and November and before anyone claims to have a crystal ball riddle me this. Other than "Obama girl" who honestly knew who the Illinois Senator was or thought he had a viable shot?
A word of warning from a Democrat. We didn't think that George W. Bush had a chance at being elected president. Ruminate on that.
This isn't a gag. I've lived in this city most of my life and in a year or so I might consider running for Houston City Council. I'm wary of our bayous NOT being dredged properly or frequently enough and us flooding whenenver tropical storms X,Y & Z roll through.
I'm annoyed by the fact that greedy real estate developers can overcharge for townhomes, inflate property values (thus raising taxes) and force people from homes that had been in their families for generations.
I'm irked by the fact that there are some school zones where there's nary a cross walk or that freight trains can impede rush hour traffic in some of Houston's neighborhoods by simply stopping in the early mornings making many late for work.
I'm not trying to persue a CAREER in politics, (I still would love to be back behind a camera somewhere ....hi D'art) but I'm tired of city council members increasingly being either:
a. real estate guys seeking better deals for themselves and their friends.
b. Legacies who simply wish to follow in someone else's footsteeps.
c. cronies who've been "groomed" by men and women who may have ONLY left council because of term limits.
d. Men and women who simply want to be MAYOR and see the coucil as a good stepping stone.
I frequently joke around in here and I'm known for being somewhat jocular, but I'm serious on this one. Give me some feedback ladies and gents. Should the dreadhead (no I don't NORMALLY speak in 3rd person) run for city council?
Sniper fire?

Senator Hillary Clinton said that when she landed in Bosnia several years ago with Daughter Chelsea and commedian Sinbad that there was no "formal ceremony" to greet them. and they landed "amid sniper fire and had to run to a safe location.
Hmmm. Why would a plan carrying the wife of the most guarded man on earth land amid sniper fire? It made no sense. The BBC found some of their old footage and LOW AND BEHOLD, we see a smiling then first Lady Hillary Clinton getting off a plane ...waving. Perhaps she was swatting bullets with her bare hands. We see her greeted by a group of Bosnian women and children who handed her flowers.
Maybe we couldn't hear the snipers because of poor audio. Why were the civilians so calm admid this obvious sniper fire? Well if you're in a war torn country you get used to being shot at.
when quized about it, senator clinton said she remembered it wrong. Uh...yeah. Ever been shot at? Ever been somewhere where shots were ringing out? If bullets ever flew at you...I gaurantee you'd remember. Unless of course you're a united States Senator.
Your thoughts?
In the midst of this heated political season I would like to go on record in saying that if meteorologist Mike Iscovitz were WHITE he wouldn't be considered my competition for the title coolest guy in the city of Houston. The fact that he's black and I'm an *Inuit
If Iscovitz were also an Inuit this race would hardly BE a race. Incase you didn't get it I was making light of Clinton finance chair (and abysmally HUMILIATED in a landslide by Ronald Reagan vice presidential nominee) Geraldine Ferarro. I used Iscovitz because he has a sense of humor and probably read this as soon as he saw his name on the banner. Thanks Isci.
Ferarro in essence said that if Barrack Obama were a white man or a woman of ANY race he would NOT still be in this race. In other words EVERYONE who supports Obama and has voted for him is either doing so SOLELY because he's black OR because he's some modern day Svengalli adept in the ART of mass hypnosis.
This is only the LATEST in veiled racist attacks from Senator Clinton's campaign. To be fair Senator Clinton herself HAS NOT made any statements that could be seen as racist but she seems to be either oblivious OR suddenly struck mute whenever a member of her staff does it. What exactly did she say immediately after her husband pointed out that Obama had only won South Carolina because of it's "high concentration of black voters?"
Where was she when her staffers aggressively played on blue collar types with ingrained prejudi and simply courted them because she knew they'd be reluctant to vote for any candidate of color.
Why did she and her staff cry foul when an Obama staffer called her a monster but say NOTHING when one of her own staffers (If I can paraphrase one O.J. Simpson Lawyer Robert Shapiro) "Not only played the race card, but dealt it from the bottom of the deck." Race didn't really play a role in this campaign until Senator Clinton's people introduced it and exploited it.
For someone who claims to have spent her whole life persuing civil rights Clinton's campaign of late seems more like George Wallace's "Segregation now, Segregation tomorrow, Segregation FOREVER" Dixiecrat campaign of 1968 than a 2007 presidential campaign. Is it Senator Obama's fault that:
-Senator Hillary Clinton is REVILED by the GOP and is seen as a devisive figure?
- Young, educated whites see more hope in his message than hers?
- Many consider the younger Senator from Illinois MORE ELECTABLE than herself?
- She's not as POPULAR as she thought she was?
- She's currently alienating the black voters of New York State who elected her to the senate.
If Senator Clinton wants to simply attack Senator Obama on issues and come out on top I personally have no beef with her, but as long as her staff runs this racist campaign and she pretends to be an "innocent babe in the woods" She's not only hurting her own party's chances in November, but American politics as a whole.
(the indigenous people of northern Canada and Alaska)
NOTE: If you are a Republican or otherwise on the right your comments are welcomed to this blog and will not be censored; HOWEVER, if your comments are sexist garbage about how you could never vote for either a woman or a man of color or how Obama is some kind of Muslim "Manchurian Candidate" then don't be surprised if I delete you.
DH
Hillary Clinton has said that she would not "negotiate" with our enemies without human rights preconditions being set. George W. Bush apparently agrees with her. Acording to Associated Press, when someone asked him earlier today if he would meet with Raul Castro brother and Fidel Castro and new leader of Cuba he said:
"Sitting down at the table, having your picture taken with a tyrant such as Raul Castro, for example, lends the status of the office and the status of our country to him," Bush said.
He said that Raul Castro is "nothing more than an extension of what his brother did, which is ruin an island."
I find that fascinating. I'm glad Nixon didn't think that way when he decided to Negotiate with China in 72. I guess the "cultural revoloution" didn't count as human rights abuse huh?
I'm Glad Carter didn't try to talk Begin and Sadat out of negotiating because each side viewed the other as an enemy.
I'm glad Reagan didn't take that stance when he negotiated with the Russians on numerous arms treaties. I forget, did the "great communicator" say "Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall." or "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall or else?"
Glad Bush Senior was such a great negotiator and diplomat.
In order to find middle ground with those juxtaposed to your ideals and values there are times when negotiation is nessasary. Anyone who's been married as long as W and Senator Clinton have been should know that...:-)
I became an Obama supporter after my "angry" candidate "John Edwards" got so mad that he quit the primaries. I read what Obama had to say and listened to him and McCain before deciding to throw my support behind him. My support of Obama has nothing to do with his race. I like the man's ideas, sense of optimism and his ability to appeal to groups of Americans who seem to have little if ANYTHING in common. In other words...Americans.
I've met women who endorse Senator Clinton simply because she's a woman and likewise African Americans who are supporting Obama because he's black. To those who would do this let me state that African Americans are the descendants of the slaves brought into this country from Africa either directly or through the Caribean. Our ancestors fought in every war from the revoloutionary war to the war in Iraq. Many non-African Americans feel we have a chip on our shoulder because there are many alive today who remember the indignity of "colored" drinking fountains and restrooms. There are many who remember "colored" entrances to buildings and restaurants.
Many would be hessitant to vote for an African American candidate for fear that he/she might harbor some sense of resentment of ill treatment or crimes of the past told to them by parents and grand parents. Barrack Obama is NOT "African-American", he is African/American. His father as an African immigrant was never enslaved. His grandparents didn't live in the Jim Crow south and Brown vs the Topeka Board of Education meant nothing to him when he arrived in the United States.
His mother was (may she rest in peace) the daughter of a couple from Kansas. Can you think of a state more wholesome than Kansas? In states like Louisiana (where I was born) your race was determined by that of your mother. By Louisiana's definition Obama would be considered "white" just as Tiger Woods would be considered "Asian". The charming Senator from Illinois is a byproduct of an American melting pot and if it can be said that the Senator is one of "Us" the "us" that would be inferred would be "Americans."

I shall never hear Abraham Lincoln or William Jennings Bryant speak. I've heard audio tapes of Franklin Roosevelt, seen film of John Kennedy and watched countless hours of Ronald Reagan. All of these men will go down in the annals of history as America's greatest orators.
Last night I watched a tall, lanky man from somewhere else who had made his name in Illinois state politics before being elected to the senate and running for President during his first term and I couldn't help but think of the last tall lanky Senator from Illinois who captivated America.
His detractors called him inexperienced and uneducated and some even called him illiterate. He held this nation together in one of our most turbulent times.
Barrack Obama has made many Americans feel good about being Americans and believe in the Democratic process. My support of this dynamic candidate has NOTHING to do with his race. If that were the case I would have voted for Jesse Jackson in 88 and Alan Keyes or Al Sharpton each time they've run.
He is not an African American. Unlike my ancestors his were never anyone's chattle. His father was an African immigrant and his mother a woman from Kansas. He's not seeking reparations for anything a nation owes him anything. He's an American period. An American who loves this country and whom I believe will not only defeat senator Clinton in the Democratic primary, but will win the General election.
Last night in the Toyota center I was a witness to American history and if I ever have children or grandchildren I will proudly tell them about the night when I and 19,000 others were on our feet listening to a man who was on the path to becoming our leader.
Former President George Herbert Walker Bush
you're the son of Prescot Bush and have my never ending respect because you did something incredible. At the age of 18 you dropped out of YALE where you could have easily sat out W.W. II and fought in the Navy as a pilot where you earned the Distinguished Flying Cross.
You were commander in chief when I was a crazy young Marine and I've had NOTHING but confidence in and respect for you as a venerable gent. Earlier this week you endorsed Senator John McCain of Arizona to be the next president of these United States.
I remembered your presidency sir .it was the first presidential election in which I voted. You were arguably one of the BEST foreign policy presidents this country has EVER seen; however, your domestic agenda (and forgive my candor sir) was ABYSMALLY lacking and as a result you only served one term as our president. Solving the world's problems is great, but ultimately we Americans want our leaders to put us first.
Your reccomendation of McCain would hold more water had it NOT been for the LAST guy whom you endorsed for the office. You endorsed a man whose political experience was comprised SOLELY of one full term as governor of Texas. A state whose governorship has been weak since the impeachment of John Fergueson and the election of his wife Miriam. Everyone knew Miriam "Ma" Ferguson was a puppet of her husband so the state legislature weakended the Governorship to the point that the Lieutenant Governor effectively ran the state.
This has never been ammended so if you were governor of Texas after 1923...you were basically a figurehead. The last man whom you endorsed was your own son. Not the polished and brilliant John Ellis Bush, but your older son George Walker Bush who in essence had never held a real job who listed "Machiavelli" as his favorite political philosopher. Your son who listed interacting with the President of Mexico as governor of Texas to be "foreign policy experience" and who claims to be an Evangelical Christian even though he's never introduced us to his pastor or even told us which church he attended.
Your eldest son who once president put an abrupt halt to desperately needed scientific research, ignored intelligence reports that lead to a cataclysmic terrorist attack and started a war for weapons that didn't exist and then later flip flopped and said it was never about weapons it was about freedom. Funny how that freedom doesn't extend to parts of Africa where genocide is a daily fact of life and there is no crude oil.
Mr President , while I've never voted for you, you will always have my respect, but I'm afraid the last man whom you endorsed did such incredible damage I have to vote my conscience on this one. Sorry sir, while you'll always be my commander in chief I'm afraid I can not follow this order sir.
Respectfully,
(former)PFC J. Handy
