I am turning into my mother. (She's a wonderful woman. So that isn't a bad thing!) I now love arts & crafts and decorating things. This frame was in a clearance bin for like 60 cents. I hot glued the cute little bugs onto the frame, slapped this super-cute shoe magnet (a gift from an awesome viewer) in the corner and put a picture of me & my daughter in it. Now this is one of my favorites.
Do you have any hobbies that you're really into now (things you thought you would never like to do)?

It's so nice to put a face to a blogger name. Several bloggers came out to First Colony Mall on Saturday for our Fox 26 Predator Check program. What a fantastic turnout. Thanks so much for coming out. I met Robin9223 (who's pictured here with me), PBMom, Omygato & several others.

I'm SO SUPER EXCITED! I've been trying for years to read the bible page by page, from cover to cover but I always end up jumping around. Guess what? One down. One to go. I finished reading the New Testament. Now I'm reading the Old Testament. Wish me luck. I'm still in Genesis!!!

I somehow managed to burn my hand with the iron. 3 days later, it still hurts and it's getting uglier by the second. I've been slathering neosporin and cocoa butter on it. Any suggestions or secret remedies??? I don't want a permanent scar.

I sat down with several senior citizens at an East Houston senior center and many of them believe politicians don't care. They say the high gas prices are isolating them from the people they love. The seniors are spending their money on high grocery and electricity bills and have little left for fuel. So they can't get out and visit their friends and family. They tell me they are spending most of their time at home alone. 83 year old Gloria Garcia says she can only put $15 worth of gas in her car per week. That's less than 4 gallons of gas. Now she can mostly only visit her "deceased" loved ones (her husband, mom & daughter) because the cemetery where they are buried is within walking distance.

Congratulations 2008 graduates. This is my Godson Garvis Long. Wow I remember when he was born, now he's graduating high school (from Romulus High School). To all grads, here are a few words to carry with you on your journey through life. You're starting with a clean slate. Make sure everything you add to "the story of your life" is something you're proud of. Which means the choices and decisions you make are extremely important. Keep God VERY close to you. When you do right by God, He will always do right by you! When you fall, don't quit, get right back up and continue the race. Life is full of hurdles and obstacles. The positive way to look at that is, it teaches you to jump higher! God bless you today and everyday. (By the way, yes it gets hot in Michigan! It was VERY hot on this day. Which explains why we look like we're MELTING in this picture.)

What's better than young love? I went home to Michigan three weeks ago for my Godson's prom and high school graduation. Prom was SO dreamy. I felt like a teenager again. Here's Garvis and Shara. They looked soooo cute. What's even cuter? When he first met her, I asked him what he likes about her. He told me he likes that she loves God and that she likes to read the Bible with him. (She also gets all A's !!! Well, this report card she got all A's and one A- (slacker) LOL!) This is Prom 2008 at Romulus High School.

P.S. The SHOE QUEEN (That's me) found her shoes!

Baby Grace's mother...who's behind bars for murdering her baby girl...just gave birth to a baby boy. Kimberly Trenor delivered the little boy on Thursday. Trenor and her husband Royce Zeigler III allegedly beat 2 year old Riley Ann Sawyers to death and threw the baby into Galveston Bay. A fisherman found the baby's body in October. She became known as Baby Grace until a sketch helped identify the baby girl as 2 year old Riley Ann. Trenor was 3 months pregnant when she was arrested.

I read to my daughter at least a couple times a day. She brings me a book & I read it to her. Well, I've had a REALLY bad sinus infection and my throat has been RAW. Which means when I try to speak, not much comes out or instead of words, I break out into a convulsion of coughing. She's getting really FRUSTRATED that I won't read to her. I need answers. What do you do when Daddy or Grandma's voice won't do & the Little One only wants YOU!???? (Thank God I'm feeling better...but what do I do next time?)
P.S. She loves reading & as you can see from the picture, she loves doing "nosies"!

That's one you haven't heard in a while. Truckdriver Joe Martin came up with this DVD. It's called "Truckercise". You do it from the comfort of your own 18 wheeler. It's to help keep truckers (who spend ALOT of time behind the wheel) fit. What do you think??? His web address is

Just between you and me. I'm going to "cheat" on my best friends (who I'm meeting up with in Michigan)...and I'm going to see the "Sex & the City" movie with a group of girlfriends here in Houston. Is that bad? We're supposed to wait & see the movie together in Michigan. Ooh I hope they don't read this. By the way, which character are you Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha or Miranda? I'm sooo Charlotte!

When we're outdoors my daughter spends 99% of her time looking for "ents...Ma Ma... ents." That's "ants" for all of you who don't speak her language. She absolutely refuses to step on them because she's horrified of them. That actually brings back a very VIVID memory for me. I remember being a little tot and being afraid of ants. I wonder if I called them "ents" too! What's something you've seen your kids do, that brought back BIG TIME childhood memories?

Going....Going.

GONE!
Baby Brat on the Loose! Caution: She bites (all food that doesn't run from her), she steals (all hearts that get too close), she runs like lightning & she laughs while doing it! Give my daughter more than a foot of open space and off she goes. But YOU KNOW WHY I PUT THIS IN THE FAITH SECTION? Because even when she's doing something I have to discipline her for, I'm still tickled pink to have her! I'm still amazed at my little miracle! I'm still thankful that God gave her to me and I still feel SO VERY BLESSED to have her.

Do you ever do this? Dress your children like you? I know. It's SO corny, but I just can't stop. I recently found these shoes. The high heels are mine of course and the little sandal is my daughter's. I think they look soooo cute together. Please tell me I'm not alone. Do you do this too?

What a beautiful day to talk about my daughter! I'm SORRY. I can't help myself. It's also been great weather to go to festivals (where artists will draw your caricature). Look at this caricature an artist drew of me and my daughter. I'm going to have it framed. I LOVE IT! (By the way, there's plastic over the picture which is why it looks funny in certain spots)
