You wouldn't know it by the way we drive.
We can't control the price at the pump. But we can control our speed, and experts keep telling us-- that's one of the best ways to control how much of that precious gas we use.
If you drive 65 or faster-- it's costing you. How much? 20-cents a gallon more for every 5mph over 60. I'm no math expert-- but isn't that an extra buck a gallon if you're doing 85...like a lot of us do?
$5 a gallon gas?
So..have you noticed many drivers slowing down? Are you less of a lead-foot? Or are you irritated when other drivers drive 55 and hold you up? (C'mon-- admit it!)
Is it too much to ask to get motorists to use their turn signals? I don't want to sound like a whiner, but hey-- if you're gonna whine, you might as well do it in your Blog, right?...
This is a major pet peeve for me. All I'm asking is a simple flip of a switch to let me know you're planning to turn at the intersection where I'm sitting, waiting for you to pass.. Just a little common courtesy..that's all I'm askin'...
Want to move into my lane? If you signal, I'll know to slow up and let you in-- instead of having you whip angrily in front of me.
Have car makers stopped putting in turn-signals, to make room for other, more high-tech equipment?
My photographer doesn't signal. She says, if she does-- other drivers bunch up to prevent her from entering the lane where she wants to go. I've seen that happen. There are rude drivers out there, to be sure. But it's also rude not to use your signal.
Is common courtesy .. just not that common? Maybe we can "signal" a new trend?...
