YES, I AM CALLING ON ALL OF THE MUSICIANS TO HELP US GET THIS BAD BABY OFF THE GROUND! WE NEED TO MARCH ON WASHINGTON IN PROTEST OF THESE OUTRAGEOUS GAS PRICES!! LET'S FIGHT. LET'S CALL ON WILLIE, ALL OF THE RAPPERS, WHOOPIE AND ALL OF THE STARS.
I am ready and willing and all fired up! I want to march on Washington as soon as we can organize the troops!! I am calling on all of the citizens of Texas and on, and on to join us in a march on Washington in protest of the rising gas prices. This is horrible!
I know that God is on our side, I have prayed and prayed for an answer. We need a earthly leader! Who will volunteer? We need a fearsome organizer to get this off the ground and in to the busses, and I will ride this bus, gladly!! I will even pack a lunch! Help!!!!! I am very sad to say that Calvin Owens, whom I have known every since I was 4 or 5 years old in the 5th ward is GONE!
Calvin was the music director for B. B. King and made many recordings here in Houston, giving many aspiring talented artist, who probably would never have had the opportunity to be recorded by such a great and sensitive man as Calvin.
He recently recorded and produced a session at Sugar Hill for Johnny Bush, Ray Price and the great Willie Nelson, accompanying them with "his BIG BLUE" sound. He and Conrad are now together in that big band in the sky! Wow!
Calvin, I will miss you and your music. Someday we will meet again on the other side!
