To all of you Islam experts out there, what is your opinion of Obama Hussein denying his early islamic education in Jakarta and who knows where else? I read in the WORLD issue #2008 June 28/July 5, 2008, page 11 stated that Barack met with Franklin Graham, T.D. Jakes and Max Lucado were among those at a private meeting and topics ranged from politics to theology. They all agreed not to share specifics about Obama's remarks, but the Associatd Press stated that he asked the Illinois Senator whether he believed Jesus was the only way to God (Obama's response was off the record)

Assemblies of God, Douglas Kmiec, a pro-life Catholic legal scholar who worked in the Reagan administration and served as an adviser to Mitt Romney's campaign, endorsed Obama for president.  Kmiec, who also attended the meeting in Chicago, wrote earlier this year that "an audaciously hope-filled Democrat like Obama "is a Catholic natural."

I BELIEVE HIM WHEN HE SAYS HE IS A CHRISTIAN . SCHOOLS IN JAKARTA TEACH ABOUT ISLAM BUT THEY ARE NOT ALL MADRASSAS ( ISLAMIC SCHOOLS ) . HIS RELATIVES FROM KENYA AND HIS IN LAWS FROM INDONESIA ARE MUSLIMS BUT I WILL TAKE HIM FOR HIS WORD . BY THE WAY , I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYONE HERE IN THIS FORUM CLAIM THEY WERE " EXPERTS " IN AL ISLAM , ONLY BELIEVERS OR ENEMIES OF IT .

yahyamoro;
Thank you for this information. During my visit in Jakarta, I observed the children all very well dressed in that 100 degree heat in long sleeved shirt, tie and pants well tailored and clean. But, when I went past the river (Chinko?) the children there were bare chest, feet and filthy. I asked my interperter to explain that but she did not tell me anything about them except do not try to give them money or open my window. Why are they not required to attend school or is this by choice?

Born in Houston, lived in KC for a while and Birmingham. I love to travel! I visited Jakarta Indonesia. Terrible city under seige all the time. Never want to go back! Went to Malaysia, very weird feeling amongst the Arab/Muslim tribes. Americans of any race definitely not admired! Had a great time in Singapore. The different nations there get along very well and you feel welcome! I went to 12 cities in Northern Italy, everyone was very nice, did not speak Italian, that was really exciting! I am retired. plan to travel more, soon. But, right now I am getting ready to start an at home internet business promoting local musicians, singers, dancers,(praise and others as well) and comedians. More on this later! I am a Christian and strong believer in God. One of my web pages will include a place for devout religious people to visit and share prayers, bible studies and music!
