(The Real Barack Obama Thursday, February 21, 2008 10:06 AM By: Ronald Kessler )I plagarized this article from The Politico)

Michelle Obama’s comment that, for the first time in her adult life, she feels proud of America helps crystallize who Barack Obama is. To be sure, the wife of a candidate is perfectly free to have views that are distinct from her husband’s. (like Hillary) But on a matter that is so fundamental to one’s being as love of country, it is difficult to imagine that Michelle Obama would publicly twice make such a statement suggesting disdain for America unless she felt it comported with her husband’s views. Equally important, her statement aligns perfectly with the hate-America views of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama’s minister, friend, and sounding board for more than two decades. On the Sunday following 9/11, Wright characterized the terrorist attacks as a consequence of violent American policies. Four years later, Wright suggested that the attacks were retribution for America’s racism. “In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01,” Wright wrote in his church magazine Trumpet. “White America and the Western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns.” Wright has been a key supporter of Louis Farrakhan, and in December, honored the Nation of Islam leader for lifetime achievement, saying he “truly epitomize[s] greatness.” Farrakhan has repeatedly made hate-filled statements targeting Jews, whites, America, and homosexuals. Those who think two of the closest people to Obama could publicly make anti-America statements unless Obama himself felt that way, are fooling themselves. To date, Obama has proven himself to be nothing more than a great orator, rendering the statements of those around him even more important in illuminating his true character and agenda. During his Senate career, he skipped 17 percent of the votes and sponsored only one bill that became law. That bill was to promote “relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.” Bereft of official accomplishments, Obama has distinguished himself mainly by being against measures that protect American security, such as finishing the mission in Iraq. If we were to leave Iraq quickly, as Obama vows he would do, it would become a launch pad for al-Qaida attacks on the U.S. Obama avoided voting on extending the Protect America Act, thus putting America at risk when immediate interception of terrorist communications is required. Last August, Obama voted against a measure that would have allowed the U.S. to continue to monitor overseas conversations of terrorists like Osama bin Laden without first obtaining a warrant. If his radical vote had prevailed, bin Laden would have been given the same rights as Americans. To this day, Obama has not distanced himself from most of Rev. Wright’s comments. In a statement supposedly issued to address the matter, Obama ignored the point that his minister and friend had spoken adoringly of Farrakhan and that Wright’s church was behind the award to the Nation of Islam leader. Instead, as outlined in a Jan. 17 Newsmax article, he disingenuously claimed he thought the magazine bestowed the award on Farrakhan for his efforts to rehabilitate ex-prisoners. Neither Wright’s encomiums about Farrakhan nor the Trumpet article mentions ex-prisoners. The real Barack Obama is starting to emerge, and for those of us who are grateful to America for everything it represents, it is not a pretty sight. This is bashing like Clinton never did, and there is more to come and not from Clinton!

Good post!
While my opinion is not accepted by many, I do have one.

In 1972 a silver tongued orator running for president, addressed the middle class voters with very appealing changes.
His racially troubled past was a question, & although every issue in his platform was terrific, voters rejected him.

Obama says the right things!
He is a polished orator, but what He realy stands for, who he is, what he has accomplished is questionable.
As a president you are limited to what you can do by the congress, so what you are promising, is merely a wish list, maybe?

Our current administration has been pacifying citizens for 8 years, to keep the focus off the oil market while they rip us off at the pumps, to the point we are in serious debt.
I don't think that in these troubled times, we need a person who wants to give more--
I don't think we need a person who has a muslim background, in a Christian society--
I don't think we need a person who has NO experience leading--
We have a 2 TRILLION dollar debt, & proposed "pacification for EVERY american" may not be the receipe for success?
Time will tell, & when it comes at a time wwhen belt-tightening, & self sacrifice appears to be the neccessity, it may not be the time to give a novice the opportunity?

Unfortunately, there appears to be NO viable choices in this election--?

There is only one problem with your report. The ones who want Obama in the White House don't want to know the truth. Look at the supporters he now has in his corner. The biggest Liberal Democrat of all Ted Kennedy. Plus he has convinced all the young voters he is better than God. But all I see is a used car salesman who can talk and convince voters he can do everything they want. But, God forbid, if he should win the country is screwed along with the American people.

What are his changes ?
The radical blacks (too many to name) will be forever on his back to make their changes for a black America.
They think the White House is racist and should be called The President's Palace or residence" like some African countries call theirs.
All this nonsense will under mind the real important issues we have to repair.
The chances of Obama being assassinated in office could bring another mayhem similar to down town central LA where 51 innocents people were murdered and no one brought to justice.
Its all shoved under the carpet to keep the peace with murderers still walking the streets ready to act again.
Exchange the Statue of Liberty for King Kong ?
Just my and others who think the same.

yES, FYinfo
You are absolutely correct. He talks about how he does not accept Pac or Lobbyist money, but, I looked at opensecrets.org and Newsmeat.com and I cannot determine exactly where some of his donations are really coming from especially when they are listed like Citadel, Coors and Busche, Sacs and many lobbyist have many different clients and they are not listed under in one particular name.

I know all of the people who are going to be on his back if he wins to give, give, give like he promising. How can anyone promise so much and he is not informing the un-educated voters he is drawing at the polls to carefully study their State Reps, Governors, DA, Sheriff and judges. I was at the polls and I observed many of his backers asking for help to find his name, Obama, because that is who they came to vote for. Wow!

americanpatriotic;
You are right. I lived in Jakarta Indonesia and was working at the Four Seasons Hotel there. I had an interperter who was Muslim, but she had as many children in Jakarta are required to attend a Catholic or Protestant school for their early education.

But, they are still consider themselves nation of Islam. I was asked on many occassions if I am a Christian, at that time, I was still living in the world and not practicing the tenets of Christ, so I was able to truthfully answer no. If I had said yes, my life would have been in more danger than it later became. The hotel sent me to Singapore, along with other Americans, German, French and Australians working there for Exxon for our safety by the US embassy.

Obama was educted in Catholic school, so I heard in Jakarta. No one can determine if he studied the Quran or not.

Every night, the Indonesian people bombed or destroyed the gas lines because they were unhappy that they could not or were not allowed to work in the fields. This is really hotel gossip, so I cannot verify why they destroyed the oilfield pipes. But, the people were dirt poor and filthy and lived in the worst living conditions. There were some who lived well and it was very evident that the oil helped them.

I am so sick of these high oil prices. Poor people cannot afford to pay for gas to get to work. We are always lending friends money or putting gas on our card for them to be able to go to work. It's terrible. I haven't heard him make a promise on that issue, he nor Clinton because they cannot compete with the

You appear to be a intelligent, astute person, & a credit to the blogging site!
I think it is funny how older folks get a "premonition"or "feeling" about a situation that is usually right, where younger folks ask a lot of questions, research facts, and determine a conclusion.

I have said this before that We had the greatest nation in the world, & have let greed, & illegal immigration sneak in here & destroy our society! (& NOT just Mexicans!)
The Bush machine (dating back to the 80's) came up with a plan to monopolize oil prices & have achieved it!
They have destroyed our system with their greed, & put us in debt FOREVER!
NOW, we get 2 liberal candidates who want to patronize all these "want a handout" individuals which we cannot afford!
We also have the option of a senile old veteran, who sides with the group who has put us in this mess!
I guess my frustration comes from not having a option in this election, which I think we need!

You will be allright--
You have a good head on your shoulders, & I appreciate the chance to respond to your blog!

True, it doesn't seem like we have a choice, but you know if you don't like McCain you don't have to give him the electoral votes. If McCain doesn't win Texas he won't get the total # needed to get the nomination. Then it goes to the convention. There they will choose the true conservative.

I am not saying I am for any particular candidate, as there really isn't a good choice.

On the Democratic side, Obama and Clinton, who in my books should be running not as Democrats, but as Communists or Socialists.

Then on the Republican side you have an "SENILE OLD veteran". We might want to think before we vote for him. He calls himself a Conservative, but doesn't have all the ideals of a Conservative.

I do like one thing about Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul. ABOLISH THE IRS!!! Why not a flat tax?

Like I said there are no great candidates.

Hello Gerlichang
As a Democrat, I also like Ron Paul. He speaks and puts into action the old chain of ideas set by the Reps from the beginning. Why can't we just write in who we want for President and really mess up the machines!

Any way I would love to abolish the IRS, but you know that ur elected legislative members would mess that up too. We are def in a delim and can't get out of it, thanks to the media chasing off all of the good candidates>

Good luck tomorrow! I am praying for all of us!

Born in Houston, lived in KC for a while and Birmingham. I love to travel! I visited Jakarta Indonesia. Terrible city under seige all the time. Never want to go back! Went to Malaysia, very weird feeling amongst the Arab/Muslim tribes. Americans of any race definitely not admired! Had a great time in Singapore. The different nations there get along very well and you feel welcome! I went to 12 cities in Northern Italy, everyone was very nice, did not speak Italian, that was really exciting! I am retired. plan to travel more, soon. But, right now I am getting ready to start an at home internet business promoting local musicians, singers, dancers,(praise and others as well) and comedians. More on this later! I am a Christian and strong believer in God. One of my web pages will include a place for devout religious people to visit and share prayers, bible studies and music!
