I see that a lot of people go to those water machines located in a lot of grocery store parking lots.  Is our tap water really that bad?

i don't know if its bad for you, but i don't like the taste of it. i have a filter on my ice maker and i drink bottled water. i'll use tap water to cook with, but it stains my pots!

I'm in the same boat with randythib... I don't necessarily think it's bad for you, but I have filtered water in the house. Now, my children are spoiled and don't like the taste of most tap water. Ok, even my dog drinks filtered water. It just has a different taste.

No, in fact, Houston has some of the best tasting water in the country. For a while, it was even bottled and sold off the shelf.

That may be, but I prefer Dasani and Ozarka. It just tastes cleaner to me..maybe its the minerals?

Houston refused to have it's water tested by an independent consumer group. Sounds suspicious to me. They were testing for pharmaceutical drugs showing up in the drinking water, something water plants cannot filter out (people throwing pills in the toilet, pharmaceutical drugs coming out in out urination and defecation). Austin had some pretty clean water.
