Kick field goals!!!  You are showing no confidence at all in your defense and putting it all in incapable hands...i.e. Matt "Carr" Schaub.  If we would have kicked the ball through those little poles called goal posts, which gives the team 3 points...we would have had a better chance to win the game against the Oilers...i mean Titans.

Then again...if you put a QUARTERBACK in the game under center...that increases your chance to win as well.  Matt is not cutting it and should be benched.  Not saying permanently, but for a time he should not step on the field.  Let's try to play for a win instead of saving face with money issues.  Who really cares if you pay Matt for not playing.  I would rather pay him not to play and win than him be in there blowing games and chances to score everytime he touches the ball.

Please Please Please....put in Sage for the next game...let us see what happens...let us see if there is something out there besides a dunce QB.

THREE PICKS and NO TDs? What team would keep a guy like this in the game...if you had a pitcher that could not reach the plate...would you keep him in, walking in runners time  after time?  I THINK NOT....

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight champion Evan Tanner was found dead near Palo Verde, Calif. on Monday. He was 37 years old. His management team at the Driving Force Sports management agency confirmed his death to MMAWeekly.com.

Tanner had trekked into the desert on a journey to “cleanse” himself, according to Douglas Vincitorio of Tanner’s management team. “He went out to the desert to do a ‘cleansing’ as he called it. Kind of like ‘Survivorman.’” These short trips were not new to Tanner, said Vincitorio. It is something that he has done numerous times over the years.

“What we were told is that (Sheriff’s officials who found Tanner) believe his motorcycle had run out of gas, so he went to walk out in like 115- to 118-degree heat,” Vincitorio said. “He was miles away from his camp. That’s where the helicopter found him. Right now, they just think that he succumbed to the heat.”

Lt. George Moreno of the Imperial County Sheriff’s Department has reported that Tanner set out treasure hunting on Wednesday, Sept. 3, asking friends to call for help if he didn’t return right away. Lt. Moreno says friends called the Sheriff’s Office on Friday, Sept. 5, and search and rescue teams looked for him throughout the weekend in temperatures up to 114 degrees.

The U.S. Marines used a helicopter to search by air Monday morning, finally spotting a body two miles from the campground where Tanner’s belongings were found earlier, according to Lt. Moreno. While a coroner has yet to confirm the body is Tanner’s, John Hayner, the owner at Driving Force Sports, says people close to to the fighter visually identified his body at the scene.

On Aug. 10, Tanner wrote a blog on Spike TV’s website, proclaiming his desire to start an adventure in the desert east of his new home in Oceanside, Calif. An avid outdoorsman and wandering spirit, he wanted to escape civilization for a while.

“I’m not just going out into the desert, I’m going out into the desert to hunt for lost treasure,” he wrote. “I’m going on a pilgrimage of sorts, a journey to solitude, to do some thinking, and to pay my respects to the great mysteries.”

On Aug. 16, Tanner wrote about collecting supplies for his journey, and wrote about the dangers he might face.

“I plan on going so deep into the desert, that any failure of my equipment, could cost me my life,” he said. “I’ve been doing a great deal of research and study. I want to know all I can about where I’m going, and I want to make sure I have the best equipment.”

Of course, this led followers of his blog to fear for his safety, as they often did when Tanner reported his frequent by-the-seat-of-his-pants adventures. In a blog dated Aug. 27, Tanner tried to calm his audience.

“This isn’t a version of ‘Into the Wild,’” he wrote. “I’m not going out into the desert with a pair of shorts and a bowie knife, to try to live off the land. I’m going fully geared up, and I’m planning on having some fun.”

But he also affirmed that things could go wrong if his equipment wasn’t up to snuff.

“I do plan on going back pretty far, so I did mention in one of my posts that I wanted to make sure to have good quality gear,” he said. “Any failure of gear out in the desert could cause a problem.”

On Sept. 2, Tanner wrote his final blog entry, documenting a training session at a facility in Oceanside.

The Amarillo, Texas native was a high school wrestling stand out who won the state championships his junior and senior years despite only getting into the sport as a sophomore. He entered mixed martial arts in 1997 encouraged by friends.

Tanner rose to the top of the mixed martial arts world by winning the UFC middleweight title over David Terrell at UFC 51: “Super Saturday” Feb. 5, 2005. He lost the title later in the year to Rich Franklin. Tanner, who had a career MMA record of 32-8 last competed in the UFC on June 21 losing to Kendall Grove by split decision.

Tanner was surely a unique personality. He’s eclectic spirit and competitive nature will be sorely missed in the MMA community.

I am so glad we did not get Vince in our draft.  He has obviously not grown up since leaving the college ranks, other than putting on the pounds.

His play has been lack luster and his attitude is matching that.  He went MIA on Monday, causing family and team members to contact police.  He apparently left the house without a cell phone, and a poor emotional state.  He met with police and coach Fisher later that night after being contacted by a friend.

There was an unloaded gun found in the car he was driving, luckily there was no offense for this in TN.

But for me, I could not be happier we do not have this lil temp-tantrum machine on the TEXANS!!!  Buck up kid, you play football and you are more likely to get hurt than not.  It is part of the game, I am sure someone told you this along the way.

Ahman is hurt again.  We need to cut ties with this old man and move on.  He has done nothing for the team besides make us hold our breath waiting for his "return".  Let Slayton take the reigns, move Darius back up and start looking for a free agentfor the practice squad and make the move next draft...PICK OFFENSE FOR ONCE!!!!

There are a group of backs that are coming to work out today for the team...cROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!

Oh and IKE...stay away from us...it's game day Sunday!

As I watch us get pummeled yesterday against Pitt, I started thinking to myself...Has Sage done something to tick off the main office of the Texans?  You have Matt getting killed, throwing the ball DIRECTLY TO defenders, and takes a shot that rocked his bell....and still no Sage?

We puit Sage in bad, untorrerable situations and he performs, comes back in complete loses and shows how good he can do under pressure...

What do you think Texans?

So apparently there is an amazing athlete in New Haven,Conn.   He is so good infact they have dibanded his team and refunded the parents the money for sign up fees...

This lil guy has a fast ball that reaches 40 mph and the league has said he can no longer pitch.  He has never hurt anyone and the kid misses pitching

Jericho's coach and parents say the boy is being unfairly targeted because he turned down an invitation to join the defending league champion, which is sponsored by an employer of one of the league's administrators.

Jericho instead joined a team sponsored by Will Power Fitness. The team was 8-0 and on its way to the playoffs when Jericho was banned from pitching.

"I think it's discouraging when you're telling a 9-year-old you're too good at something," said his mother, Nicole Scott. "The whole objective in life is to find something you're good at and stick with it. I'd rather he spend all his time on the baseball field than idolizing someone standing on the street corner."

League attorney Peter Noble says the only factor in banning Jericho from the mound is his pitches are just too fast.

"He is a very skilled player, a very hard thrower," Noble said. "There are a lot of beginners. This is not a high-powered league. This is a developmental league whose main purpose is to promote the sport."

Noble acknowledged that Jericho had not beaned any batters in the co-ed league of 8- to 10-year-olds, but say parents expressed safety concerns.

"Facing that kind of speed" is frightening for beginning players, Noble said.

League officials say they first told Vidro that the boy could not pitch after a game on Aug. 13. Jericho played second base the next game on Aug. 16. But when he took the mound Wednesday, the other team walked off and a forfeit was called.

League officials say Jericho's mother became irate, threatening them and vowing to get the league shut down.

"I have never seen behavior of a parent like the behavior Jericho's mother exhibited Wednesday night," Noble said.

Scott denies threatening any one, but said she did call the police.

League officials suggested that Jericho play other positions, or pitch against older players or in a different league.

Local attorney John Williams was planning to meet with Jericho's parents Monday to discuss legal options.

"You don't have to be learned in the law to know in your heart that it's wrong," he said. "Now you have to be punished because you excel at something?"

What is this nonsense of teaching our kids they can never lose...they are all winners and the world will be handed to them...when in reality we are handing there a$$es to them and setting them up for COMPLETE FAILURE!

I tell ya...we are looking more like a team than I have seen before.  We are actually forming a running game and taking on teams without the premier wide out AJ.  Slaton is constantly improving and is becoming a main stay in the offense.

The one thing that rubbed me the wrong way in last nights game...Jacoby Jones.  I know the guy is going through a tough time and not performing up to his potential...but when he fumbled the hand off from Brink (who was impressive) he sat on his knees with palms facing the heavens like it was someone else's fault but his own.  Buck up and let's get it again on the next one!

The defense is appearing to more of a more cohesive unit...but the lack of penetration was a bit of a disappointment. And as always the secondary needs Dunta back like no other! Although Molden played a good game, the Saints were slowly picking him apart.

But all in all we are looking like a team that can contend. And no matter I bleed blue and red!

GO TEXANS!

JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT YOU SPORTS FANS THOUGHT OF THE MOVES HOUSTON DID YESTERDAY.

The Houston Texans have signed running back Joe Echemandu from their practice squad and waived running back Samkon Gado, it was announced Tuesday.   Echemandu (5-10, 226) was signed to the Texans practice squad on Oct. 10, 2007. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the seventh round of the 2004 draft out of the University of California.     During his four-year NFL career, Echemandu has made stops with the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders.              Gado was acquired via trade from the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 13, 2006. He finished his first season in Houston with 217 yards on 54 carries and one touchdown. IN ADDITION WE HAVE ALSO SIGNED SHAWN BOYD...A QUARTERBACK FROM ARIZONA

IS IT REALLY GOING TO HELP....

From what i am hearing around the horn is that LA is in the works with 3 other teams to get KG.....What do you think about this and is Kobe worth anything now-a-days since he sells out his team so often along with his teammates.

I feel he has lost all appeal, can not take a team to the playoffs without help (unlike he said he could) and is just a poor person in general...

Your thoughts?

I wanted to see what is on everyone's minds when it comes to the draft.  I know most people in Houston cringe when we talk about draft day.  But with by gones being by gones...let us start a new with fresh faces and good doings.

As I look at the prosects coming into the league this year i think to myself...WHAT DO WE NEED?

Is it secaondary?  A new, fresh running back?  Or is it the always under fire O-line?

In my eyes i am thinking the first round should go to the secondary...we have always had a hard time with this area of the defense and seems when we need them most is when we give up the big pass play!

With that being said...i would love to see LSU's Landry be brought into the Texans lineup, although i am sure we gave this option up by giving the falcons our 8th pick...

What do you think our choice should be this year?

For those that do not know:

The Madden Curse, also known as the Madden Cover Curse, is a myth involving the video game series Madden NFL, stating that the season a player appears on the cover of Madden NFL, that player will be cursed with either an injury or poor performance.

Before 1998, the cover included only an image of John Madden. Players who have appeared on the cover in subsequent years have generally failed to reproduce their success of the previous years, for a variety of reasons. Marshall Faulk, Daunte Culpepper, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, and Shaun Alexander all have suffered injuries in their season appearing on the cover. These performances and injuries resulted in speculation of a curse.

So my quesiotn to you fine sports bloggers today is...

What injury will put Vince out and uphold the Madden Curse?

I personally think he will blow out a knee or break an ankle....

I am just your normal kilt wearing Texans fan. Texan born and proud of it. I have varied opinions about many issues, as you might have already read. I do like a great discussion, some would call arguements...you say tomatoe, I say tomato. Be happy while you're living, for you're a long time dead.
