Both sides seem to have claimed victory in Victoria after hispanic leaders boycot caucasian business in protest to immigration legislation...

The boycott was declared a success by the Hispanic community, noting that revenue in Caucasian owned businesses was down by 19%.

Business owners declared the boycott a success as well, pointing out that shoplifting was reduced by 77%, money orders sent out of the country were down by 97%, and the cost of daily clean-up and trash collection was down by 84%. Shoppers reported that they could actually hear English being spoken throughout the community for the first time in recent memory, and customers actually paid for purchases with real money, not government debit cards!

Let's keep the boycott going and maybe move it a few miles...and into houston and neighboring cities/towns!!!

Further proof that if they all got on the bus, we would not miss them.If I had not just bought a house in Baytown I would move to Victoria! The surrounding areas of Houston need to do the same thing. If Houston is soooo in love with the illegal immigrants and the left overs from Katrina, then let Houston deal with them and all thier baggage. It is time for the "little guys" to take a stand.KEEP THEM INSIDE HOUSTON!

A REALLY--good blog--
JUST "LOVE" it!

I agree that the negative impact is MUCH greater than any positive impact that they provide!
I guess you can derive anything you want out of a situation, depending on your prospective-?

I think VERY FEW care about these "social predators" OR their business!

Love this blog...so while business was 'down', profits were probably UP with revenue saved from shoplifters, clean up costs, etc...

Keep it movin!!

I am just your normal kilt wearing Texans fan. Texan born and proud of it. I have varied opinions about many issues, as you might have already read. I do like a great discussion, some would call arguements...you say tomatoe, I say tomato. Be happy while you're living, for you're a long time dead.
