Thoughts of HoMan

I am completely baffled how this "noose madness" has come to be.  It is a rope, no one is hurt.  Like these kids in Pearland, why are they being charged with a hate crime?  I understand that some think it is directed at the black community, but the first thing that truely pops into my head is the old west, the man sitting on a horse waiting for the executioner to slap the horse on the BLEEP and drop him to his fate.

Is it just me or is the whole thing out of hand?

Actually they aren't being charged with a hate crime now, they're being charged with disturbing the peace.

I think it is copy cat nonsense. The teens don't realize how serious what they are doing is. It is kind of like "monkey see, monkey do".

Noose has the letter N so "N" is now banned.
There are private schools who teach speech without pronouncing the letter 'R'
ing a ing a oses
Why don't we drop the 'N' and have 25 letters of the alphabet - sorry, 24 as the Angle said Noel.
We should lighten up but if by displaying a noose for hateful reasons then its sadly distasteful and those responsible should be ashamed and made to take council.

Its sad that some people dismiss these things. These kids know what they were doing. They think that its all a joke, but its not. Its a hateful thing to do and they need to be punished. People need to realize that if things like this are passed along as if its no big deal, it will eventually turn into something bad.

its not just a rope. its a symbol of hatred directed at one group of people and everyone knows that.

First off I would like to know what it was actually all about!! Was it truly racial or just some B.S. over a girlfriend breaking up with one of them for someone else.... I HATE half/news and the conclusions people draw from it. Just going by the consensus here on this blog those kids would have their lives scared with a criminal history, forced into counseling, and God knows what else... Back in my day they would have been sent to an alternative school for a while and maybe expelled.
Everything seems to be taken to the extreme these days especially with jumping to the worst possible conclusions....

Everything is taken to extremes because everyone is looking for their golden ticket, the free ride. You hurt my feelings so i am going to sue the pants off you and make my life easier.

The thing people have lost touch with is: TO HAVE AN OPINION, YOU WILL MORE THAN LIKELY HURT SOMEONE'S FEELINGS. OTHERWISE, WE WOULD ALL BE THE SAME!

Yes but having an opinion and displaying hate in public - especially a school - is not going too far. All the kids need to learn to respect each other even if they dont agree or get along. Respect is lacking in most childrens' personalities and attitudes today which dates back to the parents.

**I meant that displaying hate in a school IS going too far - not sure where the not came from! Sorry!!

I am just your normal kilt wearing Texans fan. Texan born and proud of it. I have varied opinions about many issues, as you might have already read. I do like a great discussion, some would call arguements...you say tomatoe, I say tomato. Be happy while you're living, for you're a long time dead.
