Film maker Chris Paine examined the eventual destruction of the  giant General Motors "All Electric Car,   the  EV-1."

An automobile that does NOT require Gas, Oil, Muffler or Brake Changes and much more.

Pollution free and some could travel 300 miles @ 70 mph without re-charging.

General Motors decided to recall all those built and secretly crush them to clear the market of these pollution free vehicles.

WHY ?  Because they make money BUT not enough for G.M.

They make more money on Internal Combustion Engines (gas guzzler polluters) from after sales like oil and air filters and more.

They are also afraid of the Dealerships not making enough profit from warranty services.

G.M. THE BIG EVIL CORPORATION plays the card with OIL CORPORATIONS AND GOVERNMENT SUPPORT.

A MUST SEE DOCUMENTARY ON CABLE CHANNEL STZC- 413 TONITE @ 8PM.    DON'T MISS IT

The hydrogen car will not be available for 2 decades    (IF AT ALL WHILE the OIL SUPPLIES LAST)

Thanks for this information 4Justice. This confirms what I've suspected for a long time. Corporate Greed is the root of all evil.

There have been numerous stories recently about people converting their cars to run on leftover vegetable oil from restaurant kitchens. Many restaurants need to get rid of that oil anyway, and are more than happy to give it away for nothing or next to nothing (though, obviously that would change as demand grows). While this seems like a great example of one way that people can help take a step away from the oil addiction the government is apparently afraid of, it seems that (oops) the government isn't going to make it very easy for people.

The bureaucratic insanity faced by a retired couple in Illinois who simply want to drive their vegetable oil-fueled car, but now face huge fines and possible felony charges for doing so. The details sound like they're right out of a bad movie. They've owned the car for while and they fuel it up using leftover restaurant cooking oil. However, earlier this year, two officials knocked on their door from the Illinois Department of Revenue, telling the couple that they were violating the law by not paying an additional motor fuel tax. The couple did the calculations on how much tax they needed to pay, and while annoying, it wasn't outrageous. However, in order to pay, they first needed to get approved for a license as a "special fuel supplier" or "receiver." Except... the process to become approved for such a license requires a $2,500 bond, and the forms are designed for businesses not individuals. The couple then received a letter saying they needed to stop being a special fuel supplier or receiver until they were licensed to be such -- b

continued... but the details of how you qualify to be either a special fuel receive or supplier showed that they qualified as neither. Yet, the state still insisted that they had to get such a license, because otherwise they had no way to collect the tax. They then noted that operating as a special fuel supplier or receiver without the necessary license was a felony.

I heard years ago there was a car that burned garbage and it was squelched too.

Very interesting, thank you.
Something I or others must have missed.
This would be a good story for the media unless they are restricted in publicizing it ?

I can't understand why its not front page news.
England during the war, used methane gas from pig excreta the farmers collected and sold. (NO tax)
Cars were fitted with inflated bags on the roof rack.

We can 'conspiracy theory' this one to death, but the obvious answer be in the question...
Who would gain from the death of the electric car?
The electric car would mean no more war in the Middle East for oil.
Who loses when war is waged for the wrong reasons?
I don't wanna say.... men in black might come to take me away.

I heard about this over the last year (this documentary) and have wanted to rent it. I saw the documentary producer on a TV talk show and I was flabbergasted.

I read in The Chronicle yesterday about a car that scientists created from a Fiat that had 224 miles per gallon (as part of an experiment). Some people recently purchased that car and are going to see if they can reproduce the results.

Harleyboy . . While Politicians and the like have stock in the oil and Pharmy business then others don't have a hell of a chance to see their life & health standards improved.
Its $$$ all the way and not forgetting Bush and his West Texas Oil Scam with brother screwing the Savings and Loans. Tax payers had to foot the bail-out. Both crooks and in for the money.

50 years and as many billions of dollars and we are no closer to solving Cancer.
We now have new forms of Cancer unheard of a decade ago. Thanks to pollution in food & water
See the documentary and then ask yourself why?
We owe those big time who got arrested by G.M. for exposing the fraud.
