A shortage of rain usually means a shortage of mosquitoes. I have heard very few complaints about them this year and that goes right along with the five inch deficit in rainfall.

All the rain we saw last week has helped this pesky creature make a comeback. Anyone else finding it more difficult to enjoy the outdoors with out repellent?

WOW!! And you're not kiddin' either! The minute we walked out of our front door yesterday-a "swarm" of mosquitoes greeted us and attempted to escort us to the car LOL!

JD,
You must not be a Houston native. They never go away they just slack off when it is dry. There are to many places for them to breed and hatch, like all these old tires and other junk around town that can hold water.Even a birdbath will give them a place to lay their eggs and hatch out.

JD, I hate mosquitoes! Fortunately, they don't seem to like me either, because while others get attacked they usually leave me alone. Maybe I smell funny?

Usually mosquitos don't bother me. My mom says it's due to all the vitamins I take..evidently B vitamins make you 'stink' to the buggers.

Didn't stop them Friday night!! We were waiting for our table outside at the Red Lobster on Bay Area Blvd and I swear it was an all you can eat buffet for them. It got so bad my 11 year old daughter, my 15 year old niece and her boyfriend went and sat at the BAR until our table was ready.
Saturday, my hubs and daughter still got chewed on, but not me. Friday, though...

I used to leave the front door light on because I get home well after dark and I needed to see to put the key in the lock. The mosquitoes got soooo bad that I now keep the light off and I use my cell phone light to see the lock! Works for me.
